They do NOT have any personal info about anyone from your computer. They are trying to get you to do something on your computer to give them access. Just don;t answer.

Caller called and said they were calling on behalf of Microsoft in regards to Mal ware on my P  C,
Caller also asked  that i turn on my computer and allow him to do a tune up, at that point i got suspicious
and hung up.

they keep calling and keep asking to fix my problems with my computer, I keep saying I am not interested, and I have repeated numerous times to be placed on the do not call list, yet they call again and again. ranging from arguing to being very sorry.

In Kingston ON. Same conversation about problems with my windows on my computer. Wanted me to go to computer and work with them to solve this problem. Scam.

Just got a call from this number. Police have reported several instances of calls from this #, and that Microsoft is NOT conducting any survey. Appears to be someone trying to get info off your computer.
I did not answer the call.

Yes, I blew a couple bucks with *69 (Telus/Edmonton) to get 200-982-3420.
I begged him to repeat his name a couple of times (saying I was hard of hearing) ... His name was "Chris, from Computer Maintenance", looking for the person who is using Windows in the house.  I let him along for a while, but eventually got tired, and told him it was b***s***. I asked for his phone number, he wouldn't give it, and said "if you're so smart, you figure it out".   Great, I pissed off a dofus with an autodialer.  And, yeah, I tried to phone it - non-existent.  Little stupid that Telus would report a telephone number that doesn't exist.

How do you report it to the police? I didn't think I could report it since I didn't know their company name or location.
In my case, they even started harrassing me after I said they are violating the law since my number is registered in the "no call list" and they should remove my number from their calling list or otherwise I will report them to the authoroties. The person there said "you are welcome to report". When I asked his name he said "Charles White" however his accent showed middle eastern origin.  
When I hang up he proceeded to call me twice more...

Same exact experience with Computer service scam.  These people are relentless and use different phone numbers: 702-822-9850. 630-690-2396, 210-824-0171, 253-802-0308, 200-982-3420 are a few.
This is definitely a scam.  Don't give them any info.  Don't engage them in conversation.  Just hang up.

Same here. 200-982-3420. call comes in every other day. Automated "good-bye" Annoying. How can we stop this insanity.

Same thing happened to me .  Just a 'goodbye' voice.  This is via my videotron phone. Laval Que.

I received this call also.  this is a computer scam in which they get into your computer after telling you they are from windows, but they talk pa**ie and are almost incoherent in canadian engllish.   they are now calling back and saying goodbye or just hanging up.  watch you computers I think thee is more to come from them.

this was so creepy. they called my mom asked 'do you want to die' my mom said 'what?' then heard no reply and hung up. i tried calling them back but it said number was invalid. it was a woman's voice and she sounded older. i think my mom assumed it was a prank call or something but still very creepy.

Same "Microsoft partner will fix you" kind of call. 2 nd time in two days and I was not more polite today. Asked again to be off the calling list. This is clearly a scam ploy. What does it take to catch tress guys. East indian with a thick accent . said he was calling me from Richwood USA and that the company was SB3... enough is enough...do your job federal agents...

It`s Paige Klein scaming thru Skype.

this is someone using Skype to harrass.  This is a criminal offence. The IP number can be traced and used in court.

Its a scam! They called me saying they were microsoft  and they would help get rid of the virus on my windows.  I am on mac!

I just got another phone call from this phone number 200-982-3420 ( 3 days after the 1st phone call)
Same guy, He had to repeat the business name several times for me to understand it.
I finally got the name, but I am not sure he is really calling from there. He said he was calling from
SB3 INC. in New Jersey.
Every question I asked him after that, I couldnt understand the answers that he gave me. I told him he was calling Canada and he actually new the city I lived in and named it. That was wierd and he again said that he is calling to let us know there was a virus or something like that , that was going to infect my computers. I told him, I didnt need his service.  These guys could be using a company name that is legit, but they themselves may not be.  How on earth could a person even understand the instructions even if they did believe the guys on the other end of the phone.?? Oh well, for those who want to know, that is the name of the company he gave me, Someone may want to call that company and ask them if they have a call centre that is making outbound calls for computer repair.I know I am done with this.

I got a phone call this evening about 10 minutes ago trying to tell me the same thing, that there was a virus in my coputer, the guy had a thick accent, I could here people in the background as though he was in a call centre ( wierd) and everytime I asked what company he was calling from, he mumbled something I couldnt understand.  I just got a creepy feeling and said I was busy,  He did try to get me to go to my cmputer and I refused.  I tried to dial the number and the recording said, that the call could not be completed as dialed.  Just really wierd.

Someone with a south asian accent pretending to be a Microsoft representative. Used the name Brian Wilson - a real high level MS Executive who would not be the type of person to call the public.
Very suspicious at this point. (heavy accent did not match name)
Tried some story about my computer being infected with spyware and had me call up the pre-fetch software list on my system as if it were a "bad" list before giving up and hanging up on me.

Definitely prep for a SCAM of some sort.

Just got this call as well, followed the same story as the previous entries about Microsoft and issues with my computer - very difficult person to understand - MOST DEFINITELY a scam. Hung up right away.

I received a call and the guy had no idea what he was doing (just following queue cards probably) . He kept saying my computer was infected but he didn't even know the name of the virus. When I asked if he knew my ip he didn't know so i hung up.

I just received this called saying goodbye, I received these calls every few weeks. I live in Laval, Quebec. I'm glad I checked your comments, but now I wonder how it can be stopped!!!

Got the same ghost "Goodbye" here in Thunder Bay yesterday at 5:55PM.
If I answer and there is someone there, I will ask the MS Tech how they have my name as I have a Mac.
