When I said "same thing" I meant the same as the person commeting here who said: "it says NJ, when I called them it says not in service."
You say it is NYU? Strange if true.
HarryN 2013-11-01 23:37:25 Unknown
Yes, I go the same thing, also when I called them back, said not in service.

It's NYU dental clinic
yani624 2013-04-13 00:59:44 Unknown
I wish they stop calling me, it's annoying, whoever they are.
Michelle 2013-02-14 15:58:41 Unknown
I just filed a complaint with the FCC. This number has called at least once or twice every evening for nearly 2 months. When I redial the number I get a recorded message "the number is not in service." Hopefully everyone will report it. Go to fcc.gov/complaints and register with them. The more complaints that are filed, the more likely this SOB will get caught.

Got this call at 7:20 pm.....probably telemarketer....I'm on the do not call list but some of these persist.Do they really think anyone with a brain wants them?
kris 2012-08-20 22:13:51 Unknown
I get these calls all the time too, however, I am not an alumni of NYU. Strange.
Matt 2012-06-08 18:19:28 Unknown
Hi people,
201 2000392 is the NYU dental offices. They route their outgoing calls through an operator in NJ - and before any of you feel the need to tell me I'm full of it - I've had a number of friend at NYU call me from their offices and appearing as the same number.

It's New York University (NYU). It could be admissions, alumni fundraising, etc. It appears to be a generic switchboard number.
M 2012-02-09 01:07:13 Non-profit Organization
It's NYU. Usually with me they want donations because I'm Alumni, and they call monthly. You know because even though it shows up with a NJ area code, the two first digits after are always 200. I just ignore their calls.
Tom 2011-11-22 21:42:33 Unknown
NYU uses a switch, I contract them sometimes and if I make a call out of the local 212 it goes through a oneway switch. If I call my local cell (646) it connects with the local 212 extension I use. So it can be NYU Dental, Admissions, etc, everyone in the NYU network.

It is NYU's loan people. I called back and spoke to the lady who I left my number with.

Fraudulent caller. Block the number. Pretending to be NYU. Alumni office says it is not them.
alum 2011-10-13 19:25:21 Unknown

Received a call from 201-200-0392 asking for a person that lives here. When I said they weren't home and offered to take a message they hung up.
Mike 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
Have received a series of calls from 201 200-0392. No ID an no message. Hangs up when voice mail is engaged. Wondering if there is possible criminal intent. Is there an agency in New Jersey to report this number to?
Anonymous 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
Caller ID reads 201-200-0392 New Jersey
Calls twice in a row this evening (7:15pm EST).
Has called in the past several times.
Usually let all calls go into voice mail.
Does not leave any messages.

[This is a campaign to report all unsolicited/telemarketing phone numbers (including those that do not leave messages and debt collectors/financial services calling for someone else). These numbers will be logged into online caller identity services such as this one to help others attempt to identify these numbers, and hopefully cause those companies to cease calling.]
BOTHERED 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
BEEN BOTHERED FOR QUITE SOMETIME NOW. THEY HAVE BEEN CALLING DURING DINNER TIME.
Anonymous 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
Received consecutive phone calls from this phone number = (201) 200-0392. Called twice last night, Sunday evening, February 24, 2008. Caller ID only shows it is from New Jersey. Caller left no message on voice mail, but has called before (again, left no messages).
Steve 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
I received a call from New York University's Office of Legal Council under this number. I was confused because their numbers are all 212's. Perhaps it is a call routing service...
JennNYU 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
It is the NYU development office looking for alumni donations
Amy 2011-06-06 20:41:10 Unknown
Yes, JennNYU is right. Both my husband and I are NYU alums so they call constantly. They must use an office out of Jersey City because 201-200-xxxx is a Jersey City number.
tola 2010-11-19 07:14:45 Non-profit Organization
it's nyu, are you alums? they're looking for money/donations
Gerard P. McEvoy Jr. 2010-06-26 00:17:45 Unknown
I received a phone call from this number on several occasions, always goes to Caller ID and no message is left. Tonight (6/25/2010) I was sitting close enough to the phone that I was able to grab it before the caller was able to hang up. He started confirming my address and email address and then began asking for contributions or donations. I told him I was on 100% Social Security DisabilityIncome and was no longer able to travel to the city. As he persisted, I simply told him to send me something in the mail and I would respond. C'mon, stop this non-sense
nyu 2010-06-11 15:21:19 Unknown
It is NYU.
Janice 2009-07-20 22:40:53 Unknown
That is correct. That number that everyone on here is complaining about is from NYU. Ladies and gentleman: it's okay, you can pick up the next time they call and let them know that you're not interested. The same thing happened with me. I went to NYU's SCPS school for a semester. They're probably attempting to encourage you to register again.
Janice 2009-07-20 22:37:27 Unknown
The number you received a call from was most likely from New York University's Admissions office. If you previously registered for an NYU course or asked for information, then an NYU rep. was probably attempting to get in touch with you. NYU has several different schools/colleges and this number is very likely from SCPS (NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies). Apparently, they don't leave messages. Hope this helps... and next time, don't worry, you can pick up and let them know that you're not interested. This same thing happened to me.
Al 2009-07-20 22:31:55 Unknown
It is very likely a rep. from New York University calling you. That's all I know, I'm not sure why the area code is (201) when NYU's numbers should all be (212).
NYU 2009-05-05 17:37:19 Unknown
It is a circuit from NYU's directory.
