Hi everyone:
I am posting here because I am scammed by Palmco. And I plan on taking further action, possibily a class lawsuit if we get enough people on board. If you DID NOT sign a contract and Palmco switch your gas/electricity supplier without a Written contract from you, Read on and take actions. For me, Palmco signed us up without getting a consent. They ended up overcharging us for around $180. Money aside, I filed a complaint with board of public utilities. A disgruntled lady called me and blah blah blah. I tried to get a contract, the lady refused and told me that the board of public utilities has them (BPU). I called BPU and the promptly sent me an email containing the document. Guess what, the signature is FORGED. I think they are doing the same thing to many customers.

So if you are scammed by Palmco, follow these directions:

1. File a complaint to board of public utilities.

2. You'll get a call from the same lady probably, ask her to send you a contract that you signed, (if you didn't sign a contract, tell her that the signature is forged and it's a criminal offence, and demand a contract--you have the right to). She might offer you some compensation, sure go for it, but that does not mean you cannot pursue them legally (and the refund you get is absolutely puny and they might not even send you the refund).

3. If she refused to give you the contract, the BPU should have the contract (it might take some time after the complaint though). Contact BPU and speak to the customer service, request them to send you the contract via email.

4. If you didn't sign the contract, save the forged document. They forged a signature and it's a serious criminal offence. If we get enough victims with forged contracts from Palmco, it'll be an easy victory with some serious consequences for Palmco. I hope to bring that company down.

Contact me so we can gather enough people and call up some lawyers:

Political Call
I just received a phone call from this number with a recorded message, who would you vote for mayor (of Hoboken NJ) Dawn Zimmer, press one, Ruben Ramos press two, Theresa Castellano, press three, Frank Raia, press four, Anthony Romano, press five and Tim Occipinti, press six.  Then, it asks for your second choice, listing the names all over again.  Probably Dawn Zimmer trying to figure out if she can win.  Highly unlikely!!!

Beware of switching to Palmco.  I believed their rate quotes and thought a variable rate might come in lower than my fixed rate.  Well, they gave me the low advertised rate for 2 months, then jacked it up by 20% for each of the next 2 months.  I ended up paying about $30 extra to them each month.  I threatened to complain to the Public Utility Commission and they immediately offered to lower my rate to the normal utility rate.  IMO this is a scam company hoping people won't keep an eye on what they are charging.

Same thing has been happening to me for 6 weeks, at least 3x a day. I have filed a complaint with the NJ board of public utilities and they called me immediately. They instructed me to file a complaint with the Do Not Call list if we are on it, and to get on it if we aren't already.

This is a known "tactic". Be very wary of any promises from them. Get EVERYTHING in writing before you agree to anything. Usually the "discount" goes away very quickly and then you end up paying alot more than you used to.

Remember, if you are going to do this get it in WRITING. If they can only do it over the phone then say no thanks. Take anything they send you and read it over with a fine toothed comb.

This is a legit company. The do work with PSE&G and JCP&L. they are a utility provider with those companies. all you do is verify your account info to be sent to your company and it saves you up to 10% every month for a year. it does work! your company says theyre not with you so that you paythem more. they are silent on the phone because you do not respond quick enough so they think they got the answering machine. when you call then number back it says its disconnected because its a calling center number and they can only call out. there is a toll free number on palmcoenergy.com that you can talk to them. I asked someone I know from PSE&G that I know and I asked someone that called me about Palmco.

Is there any agency who can be alerted regarding these people? They've called me numerous times. When I questioned regarding why they were trying to save me money and that it made no sense because they are a business, I heard static and I was hung up on. i called them back and the number was disconnected. It was traced to Jersey city. wish someone would arrest these scam artists.

I called to PSEG and asked what is POD# and how much safe to pass the information. As per their reply that POD indicates a supplier of electricty and it is fine with them if we switch a supplier to reduce the energy bill. So my earlier comment on possible fraud might not be true but don't contradict with other comments as well. Also at this point I am not sure if my caller is a genuine one. I just clarified about POD and my query with PSEG at this point.

Just three days before I got calls from 609-366-1063 asking about my POD# found in the PSE&G bill, page number 3. This is realy scarry for possible fraud. The lady name Allyson asked me to call back at the number 609-366-1063 when I shall be ready with my POD number. She promised to reduce the bill by 9%. She and her supervisor explained me that POD# indicates the energy supplier to PSEG. Their company would supply the same instead at lower amount if as a consumer I will be agreed to pass on my POD#. I am not aware of facts but it seems to be a fraud case and needs to be investigated by the PSEG authority.

Same thing happened to me. I refused to provide the contact number and the guy hung up the phone. He called from 518 833 1123.

I wonder why do they need Pod #, Do they have access to some personal information database which can be accessed through Pod ID?  That's scary.

I received a call from PALMCO claiming that they would guarantee me 25% off my PSE&G bill if she could just ask me a few questions.  The phone number on my caller ID was 609-219-1421.  I kept asking questions as to why I would be getting this discount and she couldn't explain it properly so i told her to call back tomorrow.  She didn't have my name so I wonder where she is getting my phone number.

I keep getting calls from this number.  After I answer the phone, it's silent.  So, I called the number back & the recording says the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.  How is a number no longer in service continually calling my house?  They won't stop!

I had a similar experience. A guy called Dion offered me 5% discount on the PSEG electricity bill and started to ask me verification questions. I told him that I am concerned about identity theft and asked him to give me a number so that I can call back and verify that they are genuine. The guy immediately hung up.

I got a call from this number and the woman said she was calling about my  PSE&G gas or electric bill.  She sounded very official and stated that she was required to wait while I gave her my POD number.  I hung up, after nicely saying "No, thank you, I don't think so" and she CALLED ME BACK!!  When I finally answered, I said "Are you kidding me????" and she said "I just want to let you know, Ma'am, that whatever company you do have is charging you from like 15 different other companies, so you just go ahead and pay those high bills" and she hung up.  It's not easy to report a harrassing phone call or notify some authority of a possible fraud...but I have continued to try.  I even called PSE&G research and development dept (ony because that is the number that came up on the website), and the woman who answered the phone was applauled to learn of this and said she would report it to their security dept.  I tired reverse lookup and that is how I found this webpage.  AMAZING!

I have the same problem.  I called Verizon and was told to report the number to the Unlawful Call Dept. and if the calls continue to contact the police dept and put a harassment complaint in against the phone number.

They have been doing the same exact thing to me - I'm so glad to hear others have experienced this because I was feeling like I am going crazy. They call multiple times every day. Each time I answer there is silence and when I call it back the message says the number is disconnected. When I did a reverse search on the number it comes up as current and unlisted.

I just got a call from that number also... They said they were with PSE&G and wanted to ask me something about my bill... I told the guy that i cant talk right now, if i can call back at a later time and he hung up... I got on the phone with PSE&G and they told me that they did not call me... Its most likely a phishing company or someone with a spoofed line trying to get personal information...
