I have had - I think - two calls from this no. today.   When I answer they hang up.   I did 1471 and it came up with 0201 257 4201.    Decided to google it and found this.  It is annoying and if it is a fraud I want to know how to stop it.

They have called me twice stating that they have a card that will entitle me to 80 or 90 % of my health cost along with medicare and they want to mail the card to me.  They already have my full name, my address, my phone number, the fact that I am a senior citizen, and I don't know what else.  Their first question is my birthdate.  Then they wanted the name of my bank and if I had direct deposit for Social Security - This is when I told them it sounded like a scam and I hung up.  The caller Id showed the identity as Optimal Tech - 201-257-4201.

I think this is a scam number saying they are calling for the Fed. Gov. on Medicare.  That the gov./ takes $96.00 per month and it is changing to $29.83 per mo. and asking all kinds of info from me.

I filed a complaint about 2012574201 through the FTC. I did it though the Military Servicemember link since I have a Reservist affiliation. If I or anyone finds out who this person is, let's please file a class action law-suit. I will look here and will give information here as I find out. The caller from 2012574201 has no idea what legal and financial trouble is.

201-257-4201 called my son's new cell number and asked for me. A man with a thick Arabic or Indian accent asked about me and a possible registration with continuing education. I told him that I did not register and to please remove me from his list. The caller became upset and used some very profane and ugly language. He said he would F*** me and hunt me (whatever that means). He called back with ugly language several times later.
A reverse search showed ATT, but other info blocked. I called ATT at 800 288 2747. ATT immediatley blocked the number from calling my son't phone. Thank you. I told ATT that I found this website and the caller is harrassing many people. Please tell ATT to fine the owner of this phone account.

I got a call from this number telling me that I signed up from an online educ. which I do not remember. I asked them POLITELY to just remove my number and my e-mail from their list because I am not interested. This guy with a heavy Indian accent ask me to apologize for signing up and I said "what? what do you want me to do?" and this guy said F*** YOU! F*** OFF and hanged up.

Beware of these scammers!

I have filed a report with the FTC, but because the current administration is not friendly toward it's citizens, nothing will happen. These spammer companies, friends of G Bush, will keep it up until a different administration is installed.

Please read the following. Please note that the FTC based their fines on these spammer companies ability to pay. Wish I could get that deal from the IRS! Shows you that the government is not supporting its own laws. Maybe if these companies paid the original fines, they would be out of business, and leave us in peace.

Do Not Call Fines Slashed From $11M to $95,000 for Dish Network Telemarketers
28 Jul 2008

Two telemarketing companies that sell Dish Network satellite TV services have agreed to pay fines of $95,000 for ignoring the federal do-not-call list and making customers listen to recordings for too long, federal regulators said.

Planet Earth Satellite Inc., of Phoenix, Ariz., and its president have been charged with calling consumers whose phone numbers are on the National DNC Registry.

Star Satellite LLC, based in Provo, Utah, was accused of making telemarketing calls that failed to connect consumers to a live telemarketer within two seconds after consumers answer the call.

The FTC initially sought a $7 million settlement from Planet Earth and $4.37 million from Star Satellite.

Based on the companies' ability to pay, the amounts were reduced to $20,000 and $75,000 respectively. But the larger amounts will be due if the companies are found to have misled federal regulators about their financial condition.

I get a call 2-3 times per week trying to follow up on a "vacation club package."  Since I never bought one, they try to sell me one.  When I ask for a name or a company, they do not respond, they hang up.

Someone from this number called me and wanted me to continue my education online. When I told them to remove my name from the calling list the guy started screaming at me and told me that not only would he remove my name from the calling list that I  would be removed from this world and that I was going to die the next day. So when I tried calling back to report this man I kept getting the online education that give you the option to press 1 to be removed from their calling list or press 2 to speak with someone. When you press 2 the line goes dead. Hopefully these people get caught soon.

Within the last month, I must have received 10 calls from this number.  THey never leave messages.  Well when they called today, I decided to pick it up to see who was trying so desperately to reach me.  A woman with a VERY thick Indian accent said that she was from LifeLock, and that she got my information from the credit bureaus and that I had been charged between 500 and 700 dollars last year and that they wanted to refund the money back to me.  She rattled off my mailing address, and asked for my visa card#.  I told her that if they wanted to refund money to me and they obviously had my address that she should just send me a check.  Then I went to the LifeLock site while I was still on the phone with her.  I told her that I thought it was strange that a company whose purpose was to protect my identity was trying to get credit card informnation over the phone...  I said that I needed to verify the phone number and company and that I would call her back and of course, she said she couldnt receive incoming phone calls.  I hung up on her.  When I did call the number, it's a Continuing Education number.  WHen you call, it gives you the option to add yoursef to their do not call list or speak to someone regarding getting a degree online.  When you accept that option, the line goes dead - no surprise there.  I then called LifeLock and alerted them of this and they said that it was a ongoing scam, that they were aware of it and reporting it to the appropriate authorities.

I think it is SO disturbing that these folks actually take the time to contact people to try to scam them out of their money, and it's even more unfortunate that some people are so trusting that they will believe callers like this and give their personal info.

Be careful!
