Several reasons you may be getting these calls.  Most likely one is that the caller is ignoring the telemarketing Do Not Call list.  Other reasons are that the call is exempt under one of the following:

1. Company you have ongoing relationship with or have used in last 18 months;
2. Someone  soliciting for a charity;
3. Survey with no attempt to sell you something;
4. Political organization;
5. Debt collector.

Go to the FTC website and look at the FAQ for how the list works and what calls are covered and which are exempt.

Someone keeps calling my home from this number.  When I pick up the phone no one is there.  I hate these nuisance calls!!!  I'm on the National Do Not Calklk Registry so why do I keep getting these unsolicited calls?

This number has called my office fax machine 3 times this week.
