This firm's full name should be Bureau of Collection Recovery. If BCR or any other agency thinks you owe something, be sure to respond on real paper to its federally required dunning letter with a dispute and validation request, adding that you either restrict or revoke consent to call again. Given the industry's documented need to break laws to get at your assets, you should dispute even if you agree slightly with a collector's claim.

If the account is not legally collectable, or it's simply not you they want, you're free to send a full cease-comm, cutting off all contact. Send all notices via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft them. Pay close attention to all communication and document it well. If those contacts yield legal violations, you may collect from *them* through a judge or arbitrator.

I just got a new phone and phone number.  This company called BCR keeps calling for someone else. This is super annoying! How can I make it stop?

Received a call from 201-297-4215 and they did not leave a message...who is it. I checked the called i.d. and it said the number was out of New Jersey.

they called me many times asking for "Yolanda" and I replied Yolanda apparently changed her number but they keep calling and I find it to be very disturbing.

Left a messege, sounded like a Mexican heavy accent guy.

They keep callig my cell wanting someone I never have heard of.

This number keeps calling me and I pick up.  No one is on the other line.  Stop calling.

Keep getting calls 2-3 times a day from this number and from 202-607-2733.  When I call back it's a message, company name BCR.  They never leave a message.

I have received several calls from this number or another which is BCR on caller ID.  Tonight told them to put my number on their DO NOT CALL list.  THey asked if I was Holly ------- (my last name). I'm not.  They verifed my number.   I then looked this number up to find it is a collection agency.   I don't know who this person is but the collection agency has my number for her.

This is BCR , and they use the B for "bureau" to sound real legit.  They call, for T -Mobile cells. (up to 10 times per day!) They leave no message. If you call back, and they are rude just hit 0 on the operator call and it will get transferred to an english speaking professional who will at least explain what it is about.

They've started calling me too. If you hear no one when you pick up the phone, chance are that the call is from a telemarketer that's using a dialer. I just hang up.
