This was certainly a scam call. Something about loans or finances. I told them they had the wrong number and hung up. Don't give them any information. They probably are a scam.

Kept recieving phone calls from an 866# and blocked ALL 866#'s and then started with the same calls from the 201-298-1678.
After reading July 13ths response from John, I called 1-866-362-5659 which I found on Scholastic Funding Group's website and asked for an agent to remove me from their list, they said they would comply.
I did mention to them I did a search on the internet on their phone number and got their name.
try it, it may work

They called me regarding my student loans I have. I told them to not call again and if the do I was going to sue them for harassment and the phone operator started to get huffy like "your going to sue me" than I hung up on them. I hope they don't call again otherwise they are going to get the cussing of a lifetime.

They fed me some story about student loans and then asked for my SSN.  Honestly?  Good try, but I'd quite like to keep my identity to myself, thanks.  The second time they called, I told the guy that I wasn't interested in whatever his "organization" was trying to sell me, and that they should never call me again, so we'll see if that works.  Based on the prior postings I've read here, maybe it won't.  Definitely some kind of scam - no one legitimate is going to call you up and ask for your SSN over the phone.

Here is the scoop.  Michael Barnes, who is the registrant of their domain, is part of teramedia group.  His group is the group that sells these people your information.  Do not believe me? check out this link. http://www.teramedia.com/clients.html  Also please do a whois search at
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp and type in scholasticfundinggroup.com.  His name and his company's address is on it.  I say we call teramedia and get our names off the source.  Their number is (407) 420-1108 and you can email them at info@teramedia.com.  I hope this helps.
