I just read this was a big time scam from India.  They just started calling me.  I called their number back and it's out of service.  I am going to send them a cease communication letter for sure.  I cannot believe they can just start calling someone without even sending any kind of letters in the mail or anything.

They called my work phone 6 times in less than an hour. Only left one message claiming to be Ms. King from the law office of Norman Kalina stating that I needed to return her call ASAP as it was an important legal matter. Funny thing is that she has called and left numerous messages stating that I had until end day to contact her or it would be sent in for legal action. I have answered a call from this number and it was an entirely different person claiming the same thing but the amounts and creditors names were different. Never have they stated that they are from ACA Recovery, I would have not known that without the web search on the phone number.
I have also had a call from 201-670-8851 Mrs. Lee apparently works for the Law office Charles Law Office....same claims as Ms. King and with the same threat. And when searching that number on the web guess what they are the same company "ACA Recovery" Completely illegal to represent themselves as from law offices when they are not. And to make repeated calls in the same day. They alternate between my cell & work number all day long. Today I had 13 phone calls to both my cell and work number(not counting the ones I may have missed when away from my desk) Only have1 message left on my work phone from Ms. King today and 1 message from Mrs. Lee on my cell. Out of 13 calls from either 201-336-1026 & 201-670-8851 - 2 messages left is considered harassment.

Have been getting calls from this and other #'s, same group for several months now.  Always claiming they are owed money, giving file #'s, sent out a bogus invoice via fax.  I reported them to the attorney generals office of my state who then forwarded the complaint to New Jersey.  When the debt collector sent the fax it had my invoice and someone else's invoice from a bogus company that does not exist.  They are rude on the phone and never identify their company when leaving phone messages.  I hope they go away someday.  I wonder if they do it just so they can get online afterwards and read all the comments people write about them.  I guess I need to report them again, or maybe call the number over and over again and hang up every time getting them so annoyed they stop calling our office.

Same number, said he was with a collection agency and had a bill to collect.  They had called before and I reported then to the AZ Attorney Generals office, who responded they sent my complaint to the NJ Attorney Generals office.  Told him I did not have any outstanding debts with anyone and he offered to send me a copy of the bill.  (I had them fax that the first time and the company name on the bill does not exist).  He said he could play me a recording of what had been ordered out of curiosity to see what happened.  The line was silent for about 40 seconds then the call hug up.  They never gave a name during the phone call but said they were a collection agency.  The invoice they sent the previous time identified them as ACA Recovery.  So this # just tries to scam people and make them think they have debts that do not really exist.  I wish people like this would use their creative energies in a legitimate way, they might actually be able to accomplish something worthwhile rather than scamming innocent people.  Don't give them any information.

With this letter, you are demanding that they CEASE CONTACT and demanding DEBT VALIDATION!

You borrowed money or signed for a credit card or bought something on time.  You signed for this in a contract with the original creditor.  You OWE THAT creditor repayment, and the contract proves it. If they have charged it off for nonpayment and sold it to Joe Blow Collections, tooooo F__ing bad (for Jo Blow).  You don't owe Joe Blow Collections ANYTHING!  EVER!  YOU NEVER AGREED TO PAY JOE BLOW when you signed the contract.  Unless Joe Blow is the agent for the original creditor and was assigned which usually means the Original Creditor has not charged it off yet. Most debts are sold nowadays, not assigned.

If you contact the original creditor, and they don't have any record of it, it's because they charged it off and sold it along with all of your contact information.  It depends on how old it is.

If they DO have record of your debt, negotiate repayment with the Original Creditor and along with this negotiation insist they remove all negative marks on your Credit Report regarding this account once repayment is made.

NEVER pay these JUNK DEBT BUYERS anything that they cannot VALIDATE, not verify, VALIDATE.  That MUST have some kind of legal proof that you agreed to pay them, such as complete payment history and copy of the original loan agreement. That is VALIDATION.

Don't let them intimidate you, do your homework.  There is a ton of stuff on the web on Debt Collections and how to clean it up, negotiate with Creditors and remove old negative crap from your credit reports.  It takes a lot of work, but it is worth it if you ever want to buy a house, or a car, or even rent an apartment.

In Life, Stuff happens to us all!

Here is a site that I like that can guide you on cleaning up your credit:
http://www.creditinfocenter.com/

Debt is not a felony, it is a civil matter and they cannot arrest you!  They start calling, whip out your envelope and send off this letter this first time they call. Demand proof, it is your right.  They have to cough it up or leave you alone.

They CAN try to sue you, so don't EVER ignor them. These bozo's have been know to be able to get a judgement against folks who ignored them!

Good Luck!

I got a call from a man with a heavy accent. He said he is Officer Jack Daniels and he needs to speak to me regarding an important legal matter. When I asked what it was he recited a case number and asked if I would agree to pay the $12,143.25 by credit card or check by phone. He couldn't tell me the nature of the debt, and when I asked him to verify the debt he said he needed my SS number to look it up. Does anybody really fall for these scams?

I received a call from this number today. The woman never said her name. She just said she was from ACS/ACA, and that it was a collection agency. She said I was in default to Yellow Pages online, for an ad they ran. I told her that I never placed an ad with them, so I did not owe this. She asked if they told me that they had a voice recording of me confirming the order. I told her that I did not confirm anything. She asked again if they told me that they had a recording. I told her not paying it. Then I hung up on her.
She called right back, but I didn't answer. She left a message telling me that it was rude to hang up on her. She said I only needed to tell her that I disputed it - that I had a right to dispute it. She told me again about the recording and said the ad was ran - so I owed the bill.
I receive calls from outfits like this almost every week. I do not advertise online. I am a very small business. Word of mouth is my best advertisement.
I learned my lesson about these companies two years ago. I received a call from National Yellow Pages online claiming I owed them. I told them I didn't. They asked if my name and address were correct and that they were going to record it to verify their records. I said yes that was my name and address, but I didn't place an order. In later phone calls, they used where I had said yes to confirm my name and address, as the supposed yes for confirmation of placing an ad. I kept disputing it. finally I spoke with a new person in their collection agency. He told me that if they ever say they are going to record anything - just hang up. So he said since they had my recording, no matter how they got it, I still owed them $4999.99. I finally paid it.
I have noticed that all that call now, mention the recording of confirmation. I don't know if they are recording the call and waiting to catch me say 'yes' anytime. Or if the yes I said 2 years ago, is being used by different companies. Either way - I DO NOT SAY YES ON ANY COLLECTION PHONE CALLS.
I do tell them that I will contact my Attorney General and tell them not to call back. I do not hear from them again. If they were legitimate, they would send a letter, not call and try to intimidate me. It's amazing how many scamming companies are out there. And how many different online yellow pages there are.

ACA recovery is not an attorney, does not work for Norman G Kalina, and should not be paid any amount of money.  I received calls from a Miss Casey, for supposedly a check that bounced and they wanted immediate payment and a $100 fee.  They could not verify check number, who the check was written to, or even the exact amount of the check.  I reported them to the BBB. google Norman Kalina and read the fraud reports.

We get calls from Ms. Harris who works for Attorney Norman Kalina's office and said we ordered a service with Regional Yellow Pages.  They stated they have my voice ordering it but could tell it was edited.

Told them this was a scam and reported them to the Attorney General's office and FTC.  She kept talking she had evidence and I would get in trouble with my boss because it would go to court.

I told her to go ahead and bring it on.  The total was $604.95.  First time she said she was with ACA Recovery, Inc. and then the Attorney Kalina's office.

We were called incessently about a survey for online advertising... finally relenting an employee agreed and kept saying yes...about 6 mos later we started getting calls from ACA Recovery who then played an "authorization" tape for Regional Yellow Pages and wanted $451.00...they obviously falsified the conversation placing the "yes" - which sounded the same each time....even saying "yes" to an old address.....The moral...don't agree to any online surveys!!!!!  If they call merely ask them the name and owner of their business along with the phone # and tell them they are violating the Do not call List policy and you're going to report them....they generally hang up at that point....
If ACA calls demand an invoice to prove it and keep harrassing them....they will say uncle first.

Mr. Jones called again, this time way before work hours, at 5:30 am, and left me another message.  He said that he has the paperwork at his office with a debt that we owe, but once again did not go into detail as to what it's about.  I just erased the message, and will not call him back.  This is probably the 10th time he called, but he will never hear from me, as I will continue to ignore his calls when I see this number on my caller ID.  What a scam!!  I only wish there's a way I can block his calls.

A Mr. Jones from this number would call me at least once a week, sometimes during non-business hours.  So, I don't answer the phone anymore when I see this number on my caller ID.  He kept on leaving me messages about some debt we owe, but was not specific as to what company we owe the money to.  First of all, why did he only use a last name to identify himself?  We're not in elementary school anymore, and we use first names in a place of business.  Second, a real debt collector would not be calling so many times and not show some paperwork to back up his claims, and would not be calling during non-business hours.  I haven't received any calls from him for about two weeks now, so I guess he must have given up since I wasn't answering the phone, and I never returned any of his calls.  I was so glad that I did some research on this number before calling.

I received a call today at my work place from a Ms. King. This woman stated that she was calling from The Law Office of Norman Kalina and that I needed to call her back ASAP to discuss an important personal matter. She then left a case number and a 1-800 number. The funny thing about them trying to collect money from me, is that I live in California and alot of these online payday places do not have a license to practice in California and because they are online, who is to say that the debt is actually valid. They never ask for any proof of anything. So Ms. King and The Law Office can call me all they want, they will not get a dime from me. And if they keep calling my job, I will have a law suit against them for harassment.

If he can't get his"claims" straight and contradicts himself, why the hell would I send him money??? For a supposed debt I don't owe. They are frauds. He got really ignorant with me when I confronted him about himnot knowing what he was talking about, and I asked to speak to a manager. Of course he said he was. Hes full of s**t. I hope they read these too. Guess what, you aren't getting money from me, you will be hearing from my attorney for harrassment, and fraud. GUESS WHAT HE IS LEGIT .

I get calls to but mine are from a Mr. Santiago. He states he is from a law office too and Im sorry but Im not in school anymore, We use first names here. I think that is the attempt to sound more professional but sorry, its not working for me. They say what they can say in order to scare you into calling them back. If it is as important as they say it is you will receive something in the mail. If they were really from a law firm, you would receive information regarding that. The truth is they are just debt collectors and I have had people go as far to say they will attach my wages if i dont call them and make arrangements....Um they cant do that, its not that easy and again..they are trying to scare you into calling them and make arrangements to pay! My debt is only $300 but at this point im not paying it just because of all the nonsense these people are going through! Isnt it against the law to lie about somehting like that??
