The same person in question said he was living in kigston but was out of town on business.  Lmao.  As soon as he sent the e-transfer e-mail and there was extra money I knew it was a rip off.  Plus the fact that an e-transfer doesn't ask for a shipping tracking number which this one wanted.  Am in the process of giving all information that I have to the canadian anti fraud department.

He called from that number today March 7, 2013 1-201-340-1578.

Previously, when he tried to buy projector for which i wanted $355 - he insisted on sending on $500 by paypal, which he did. At that time, he text messaged from 1-413-366-1789. He gave a address for his son -- to ship too. Once his scam was called - he said he will report me to the RCMP. Told him go ahead fu"cker.

I was in on this fu#ckers scam from day one, when he suggested he will send more than i was asking.

Today he called me again from that 201 #. He has a foreign accent. He is likely Muslim/Tamil with a heavy accent too.

Well, here's another one for you. My nephew was trying to sell his Xbox and got caught up in the kijiji-Nigerian-paypal scam like everyone else here. We figured it out before he shipped, thankfully. However, almost a month later, I get his phone bill and realize he sent 68 text messages to US numbers (we're in Canada and he learned his lesson a year ago about text messaging area codes he didn't know...and he swears he was given a local area code phone number to text to about the sale of the item).  After googling the phone number he supposedly text messaged (Rogers was kind enough to provide it to me), I found this forum and everything now makes sense. So, for those of you just looking at your phone bills now, if you text messaged with this Nigerian scam artist jerk about selling your items, you're in for a rude shock and hopefully your mistake will only cost you $20 in text messages like my nephews cost me.
I wanted to add this on this board because everyone's posts about the scam helped me realize what my phone bill was..and hopefully will help someone else out there as well. Phone numbers 2013401578 and 7623590812 are what appeared on his phone bill, FYI...I really hope these people get caught!!

He tried to purchase a laptop from me for his daughter, but could not meet in person, nor give any information away. He only wanted my paypal account. Last week he said he wanted to buy  the same laptop for his wife

I am speaking to this person right now via SMS. They responded to my ad selling a camera in Ottawa, ON.  They told me they are looking to buy it for their daughter. They will only do it through PayPal. I asked for $500 OBO and he asked what my best price is. I said I'd do it for $400, and he said $500 is fine.  That's when I googled and found this site.

This big scam just trick me and I sent to the shipping address I got from a fake PayPal email and now I am victim this big scam that just make fraud and playing around with the people and with his son that maybe isn't true as well. I report this person all I can Canada, Nigeria, US police. PayPal, google, scam and fraud site because isn't possible that people like that exist

Also, as for "Nathan" and "Japhet", it is obviously him, googling his number and seeing the power of the internet is messing up his childish, poor attempt at being a scam.

Just received several texts from this number asking me to mail an item I had for sale up on a web site.
Texter refused to send contact info but insisted on paying through paypal and wanted my paypal address.
I refused and sold the item locally.
Texter badgered me after I had said the item sold locally. I responded that I would report them.
Have not heard back yet.

I got this message which seems to be referring to an item I had posted on a local website. How this "medical doctor" from New Jersey was able to find it (it was posted in a Utah classified ads), it beats me. So here is the text from this number..."Well, I have a little problem of getting it in person, as I'm a Medical Doctor with busy duty here in NJ and I want the item to be shipped to one of my clients in W-A Lagos 23401 as a present and I have confirmed the shipment...(oops my phone just died.. but you can figure out the rest..)"
I even replied to his SMS and his replywas weird and dodged my question...
