This number called me 4 times today, each time no one responded.  Just silence.  When I called the number back, I got a busy signal.  I called back one more time, and a man answered.  He said, " You've got the wrong number."  I said, "YOU are the one who has been calling ME!!  Stop calling me!"  He said, "I'm sorry sir, I meant I have been dialing the wrong number."  I hung up, but now I'm finding all this weird stuff on the internet about this phone number.  It's creeping me out!

IF in fact this number is the record, which i suspect it is - because I remember someone NOT hanging upon me, then I am severly PISSED OFF.  When I moved to NJ I went to subscribe to the Record and wouldn't you believe, I paid for the paper and never received it - they never followed up with me or anything and I had to hound them and cancel and get my money back - and THEN a year later they tried to sell me the paper again!!  This is their customer service number 877-954-6397 - I am going to harass them like the do to me.! FUGGERS

You keep calling me and I keep telling you not to call me.  Now you are calling and hanging up. Do you think you are getting any business from me doing this?

i've also been getting calls from this #...sometimes as late as 9 p.m..and on a weekend !!!!.....is it the bergen record???...help

This is  telemarketing for the Bergen Record.
They called me twice a day for more than a week.

Contact State Attorney General's Office and file a complaint with Do Not Call Registry.

Same deal. Get at least 6 phone calls from them/day- all hours no message. When I call back, I get music. Call Verizon's (NJ) unlawful call center- 1-800-257-2969 to report and block.

i live in lincoln park,,,have not received the record in years....i am on the do not call list...and am still being harassed by these jack***es...as late as 9 p.m. and on weekends !!!

just got the call, company said Omega Svc's on the caller ID.. i said hello twice and a guy spoke said he was from the bergen record, he asked if i was the head of the household and i said no, then he asked if they were here, and i said no...... and just hung up without saying much... very weird.. called the number back blocked and the guy answered normally... as if he wasnt with a company... can someone pls do something about this?

I called the number 201-474-2989, and a woman named Barbara answered, identifying herself as being with the record.  I told her we cancelled the Record, we don't want it anymore, and their system calls us several times a day and hangs up.  She told me it was a glitch in their calling service and it was fixed.  I gave her my number again and told her to make sure were on their Do Not Call List.

May I suggest that you sign up for the "National Do Not Call Registry", and report those who pester you with unsolicited phone calls.

We have subscribed for a provate number and I never subscribed for The REcord.
Lately 2 times a day we receive calls. Really annoying.

These calls from CFM began approximately 1 week ago and they are relentless calling 5 - 7 times a day starting at 9 am and they call as late as 9:30.  Even calling today which is SUNDAY!!  When you answer, there is no response.  Tried calling back and the line rings busy and when I finally got through, the phone just rang and rang. I do not subscribe to the record and if this them and I actually get to speak to someone......I am going to let them have it....and tell then where they can put their newspaper!

Don't know about connection to The Record. We haven't subscribed for a good 7-8 years. Agree with with "poetry" above. No one speaks when you answer and calling that number back reaches a busy signal. Harr. Park, also.

I have been getting calls from this CFM at 474-2989 2-4 times a day, day and night the past few days.  No one responds when I answer, no messages are left, I get a busy signal when I call back. This is unacceptably unprofessional, irritating behavoir. I have reported all this online to the NJ Attorney General's office because I have opted out for unsolicited telemarketing calls.  Hopefully this will help.

Got two calls in last two days. No answer when I call back?

I have been receiving about 6-7 calls daily. When I answered the other day--silence.  Call the # back and either no answer and it just rings. These calls have been coming for a few weeks. BERGEN RECORD---STOP CALLING ME. I'm on the Do Not Call list.  Lot of good it does!!

constant calls from 201-474-2989.  when i pick up no answer.  when i call back either busy or no answer.  who are these people???

They have been calling me for 2 weeks now I am getting very annoyed.

Two CFM numbers have appeared on my caller ID in 2 days.  I didn't know what it was until I read these posts.  It seems this is linked to my cancelled subscription of the Bergen Record.  I didn't renew the Record this year because I never have time to read it.  Now I definitely won't renew.

I too just cancelled my paper from the record and have been receiving these phone calls left and right from C.F.M.  I activated the call trace on my phone by dialing *57 which sends it directly to the police station. I advise everyone to do the same.

I was getting an average of 4 to 5 calls daily from this number since I cancelled my Subscription to The Record 2 months ago. When I finally spoke to someone I explained I am on the "Do not call list" and he agreed to stop calling. Now I am getting the calls on my cell phone and they hang up every time I answer. I also googled this # and I see I am not alone here. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this?

I too am getting calls from this number.  After I answer, no one on the line answers.  Very annoying... If it happens again, I am calling the police.

Yep, got a call tonight (8:04:23 PM EST) but didn't answer.  Came up as CFM on our Phone Tray Free ID.  Don't know who that is, but we did get The Record a few days ago (not subscribers).  Someone else has suggested it's The Record.  My husband recently re-subscribed for the Herald-News, but we haven't paid for that yet, since they NEVER put the paper where we've asked them to put it.

We cancelled our subscription to the record and this is probably them looking for money for papers we didn't want. Now, call me crazy, but if you pay for a subscription for 6 months and don't renew, and they keep sending you papers, it should be on them to say "hey, we haven't received any money from you - do you want to renew?"

The Suburban Trends did the same thing years ago. i called them and said "I didn't renew my subscription. why did you keep sending me papers?"

Answer phone, and there is silence on other end.  Received 2 calls this morning, within an hour.
