I've worked with them as well. i can guarantee that they are a true brokerage firm just like any other. they will invest your money in whatever vehicle youdiscuss. one more thing...if the issue is tge phone being a strange way of doing business you have to understand this is how this industry does business. i hate when people wstch movies and think that they are real. for instanse boiler room...Haha those types of firms are nearly non existent becausr of the regulations now governing investors. they also use a very rare analysis into making a determination on a good buy or sell. I believe that the whole dont trust tge telematketer/ salesman dilemma needs to end. it is simply the fastest and i believe the mostb efficient line of communication in sales today...Hey over it. and also this site is horrendous.

A man named Matthew Malillo calls our company requesting to speak with our President by name.  He acts like he knows him personally, will never leave the name of the company he is calling from, where he can be contacted, or a message about what the call is in regards to.  A quick Google search for 201-633-4000 provides more than enough information about this company's cold call marketing tactics.

Seeing as our President has never heard of Matthew Malillo and has no business with this firm, we called back asking to be removed from their marketing list.  We got the excuse of "you must have me confused with someone else".  We'll see if they adhere to our request not to be contacted.

received a number of telephone calls from unsolicited persons in america claiming that
1 they supplied me with yearly reports on my investments (false)
2. They wer acting on behalf of directors wishing to take over a power utility in Uk (false)
2. suggesting they may make an offer on my shares at 5 times their value (false)
3 would not disclose telephone number wanted to email (classic phishing tactic to put virus on your computer)
and hung up when i challenged the fact i was on an investors list because my name is not on one.
5 would not disclose the source of their information because my telephone is exdirectory and blocked except to none uk callers(failure to disclose source of information is an offence under uk data protection act ie retaining data  for a purpose not authorised by person concerned)
6 gave different names of companies when discreetly asked.
stated ther would be a tax implication if i sold shares a typical precurser to fail to pay money owed to you ie they pay you  a small amount  on account then the tax man has not yet refunded the tax owed and cannot pay the remainder.

Cold calling is part of the business, but it depends what you?re looking for. High speculative trading is what they do, but they do not represent themselves as that. Additionally, Craig is the only person you would want to do business with out of that office. Be careful though because he has an absolute amazing pitch. He is extremely knowledgeable and has the ability to sell you any security.

Other than that, the brokers lack general security knowledge. Ask anyone who calls questions about free cash flow, alpha, moving averages or explanation of CANSLIM and you will get the most asinine of answers. They are not crooks just salesmen. The character of the younger trainees is disgraceful. Cursing, misrepresenting facts, etc. Those individuals should not be in the industry. Sounds like you get a lot of calls.

They are registered with FINRA, but they are salesmen. You?re not dealing with a Wharton or Stern graduate for sure. RBC is a clearing firm not the holder of assets. They are not associated with RBC in any form or function. They use RBC?s services.

Also if you?re a senior partner at a big four then you should realize that if you?re actively trading you should be with an RIA, money manager, hedge fund, private equity firm, or broker dealer who would keep you in separately managed account. The amounts you pay in commissions are tremendously higher than the management fee you would be paying. Also larger broker dealers tend to have access to real private placements since they are the ones making them. (i.e. Goldman, JP, Raymond James, KKR, etc.) I?ve never heard a company looking for venture capital deals calling Pendulum asking them to be the lead.

And whoever said they only call people with money is clearly ignorant. Ever see a construction worker not hit on a woman. They call everyone. If you want the calls to stop say put me on the do not call list, ask for a supervising broker, or write a letter to FINRA saying they violated TCPA act of 91. They will respond to you in writing.

I recieve cold calls from these people every year or so - phishing for information.  Last one was yesterday - 3 calls sent to voicemail but they wouldn't stop calling so I picked up and told him not interested.  Previous one I spoke with for about 20 mins, when they asked for my ss# and I refused,  suggesting they send me to proper paperwork, they hung up.

What is the legitamacy of the .com you are directing people to?  Is it on par with the FINRA organization (www.finra.org) or is it meant to dupe people into thinking it is actually that organization?

What do you mean, "Finra is our FSA"?  It is not the government Financial Services Authority such as exists in the UK and it is certainly not the FINRA organization as their web site is www.finra.org.

Saw the number, 201-633-4000 on my display again today.  I ignored it as the prior calls were annoying with the reprentative identifying themselves as Pendulum Capital anxious to separate me from my money.  I found it funny how they referred to executives where I work like they were on a first name basis with them.

I find the comments posted here defending Pendulum Capital to be hilarious!  There seems to be some similarities in the writing style (especially with the mis-spelled words - our school system has declined that much?!).  It's the Internet.  Is anyone expecting some anonymous postings on some web site proclaiming the legitimacy of a company based on unverifiable performance quotes to lend credence to a company that annoys people with their representatives demeanor when they cold call?

It seems too easy to game the system by someone working at or in the interests of said company by posting defensive and supportive comments here....

Mmmm intresting reading!  I have just started trading with these guys, yes the hard sell is there, however the small amount of stock I puchased is up, this is the important thing.  Hopefully if I choose to close out it will still be there.  Sure it will be the funds are held by a part of RBC.  Im only investing what I feel comfortable with, and we can all say no!  I think its a little unfair to judge a company without trying them out.  Lets hope the stock grows, happy trading all.

hello,

Im looking at some of the things you people are saying about this company and Im really  having a hard time understanding how you people can write negative things about a company you dont know. I have over 2 million USD with one of the partners. I have been a partner at one of the big 4 for 10 years I opened my account 3 years ago and i am up around 14% a year. I did a few privet placements and i hit on one and the others went flat. This is what the market is about, it has risks. Im looking at the comment from britwithsomedollarstoinvest and you have no idea what you are talking about. I dont care how much you look up a comapny you trust are you stupid? I have an account with  goldman and its down 7%.  (who cold called me) I have a local one with nat west and its made me 2 %. Its the broker and not the company. Like UK man said go to finra and look up your broker. I started my account with 2000 USD and look what i have in it now. You have to give some one a chance and if it does work out move on. If a broker cant make you money with 2k he cant make you money with 10 million. If you dont have an account with them you shouldnt talk bad about some one. Its how they feed their familys. Just so you know britwithsomedollarstoinvest they are one of the only firms in the world that use CANSLIM Investing System with a CFA, CPA and CMT what qualifications do you have? Or for that matter what qualifications do any of you have?

These guys keep calling - seriously, I use my own brokers because I did the research to find people I trust. Cold calling is a numbers game and these guys are clearly on the bottom rung of the sales ladder. If they were any good they would qualify you in 20 seconds and when they realisae you are not going to invest they would hang up on you - they are clearly amateurs. Gotta start somewhere I guess.

I worked for a simlar company and have friends working there. It is a legit firm, but it a scam in the sence of promesing you high returns in a short period of time( If you beleive that , you are stupid). They use strong sells techniques and most of the time that can be anoying.
The main problems with these companies is that they don't really do a research in the stocks that they are selling. They pick the most easy and attractive to sell. They choose the pitch that would sound better and would convence you to buy. If they had a research team and financial anlyst to advice the sales force, they would end up bringing value to their clients. However, they pick a very volitile stock that is easy to sell and force you to buy. You can really make a short good return on it in the short run, but your probablity of losing in the same proportion is bigger, because in the end, they don't time the price of the stock

Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and every investment firm in the world has retail desks trading stocks, cold calling.  You guys are retarded with this cold call bashing crap.  Look at the stocks these guys are recomending to you they are all up and are 1bb dollar corporations that trade millions of shares a day.  Its called research.  Maybe if you understood anything about investing your retirement accounts wouldent be down 50% with you still cheering funds.  Good Luck.

Just got a call from this company.  A guy named Mike called asking me about Microtron Technologies.  It sounded like a phishing scam.  Sounds like others experienced the same type of call: Acted like I knew him and owed him for a stock performing, Acted like I was a savy investor, wanted me to invest $11,000.

Now, maybe this is a real-deal firm, but it seems fishy to call me out of the blue to ask me about stocks, since I haven't ever invested before.  Also, I'm in no position to do so.  He continued to pursue and tried to make a point that he HAD to make some money off of me.  I tried three times to politely let him go, but to no avail.  I eventually was late to a business meeting, so no chance I'm doing business with this company, even if it is legit.

I am in tickler file too - I told them I would track an inevestment - that actually did perform as advertised based on an FDA drug approval - then fell to initial level.  Now that I saw it on paper - every time the guy gets me on the phone he does hard sell and then acts like you owe him - just 20K to show it works.
