IF  people  bother  to  review  the  forums  etc on ths  site.....most  questions and  concerns  have  already  been  addressed  and  answered !!!

more  than likely   (  99  %  )   one   of  the   several   "  202"  area  code  fraud  scams   going  around !!!

PLEASE  NOTE !!!   THESE  SCAMMERS  ARE ALSO IMPERSONATING   THE  US  GOV'T /  SEVERAL  GOV'T  OFFICES AND   PERSONS....BEWARE !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Got calls from same number to my cell 5 times in last 3 days. After answering each I was hung up on. When tried to call back, it says number does not exist. Also.. received same from 11 dialing code so it is coming from outside the US as well as inside the US. wth?

Got the same call this evening and he told me to log on to my computer and he would fix the malware and virus on my computer.  I told him that I only use an HP TouchPad (ha!) and to wait until I logged onto my dial up modem.  Can't believe he hung up!

I got  a call from this number today @ 4:04pm with similar message. I told them I could not understand the person speaking and hung up.

The caller said he is form Microsoft and informed that my home computer is sending some messages to them. he wanted to help with rectifying the problme

got a phone call from +20 2-2020000 (country code points to egypt) and claiming to be calling from Microsoft and same virus and infection stuff..

He asked to access my computer remotely to "clean it up"..

i asked him where did he get my number from and then there was an err.. and he said from your IP!! LOL.. I told him my IP address doesnt have my number and I asked him his company again and this time it was not Microsoft..

he then made up a random name to confirm if i was him.. which i wasnt and that was the end of it

Keep getting calls from 1-202-202-000.  When I answer, no reply.  Then finally, after about 10 seconds there comes a "Good-bye."  Son who works for the Federal Government, out of Seattle, WA., told me to get on Internet and type in area code (202).  I live in Aurora, Colorado.  I know no one in this Time-Zone.

I got a call on my cell phone from this (202) 202-0000 number today, 4/17/2012.  I was suspuicious immediately, because it sounded as though the guy was reading a script...I couldn't understand most of his words, except when he said "virus, malware and go to your computer."  I kept asking him "what" and I kept hearing a clicking sound. I also heard talking in the background.  
I guess I scared him off when I asked him where he was from and when he paused I told him he was "full of Sh_t.

I actually laughed at them and then pulled their leg. This Indian person called and stated that he was from Microsoft and that my computer was infected. So since I have an MCSE from Microsoft, and I know that Microsoft will not contact you about a virus on your pc (That is actually up to your ISP to shut down your email/internet connection) I decided to play with their heads a little bit. He was all like Im blah blah blah from microsoft, and we have detected a virus on your PC. I was like Ohhh noo, that's horrible, Hes says Yes it is sir and we.. I then cut him off and was all like, First the IRS comes after me for tax evasion, and then I hear that I am going to court for racketeering, and now this.. Dead silence is on the phone now, so i keep going. I say I just wish they were not able to get that darn court order to wire tap my phone. They would have never known. Yea at that point the guy hangs up. Point is, Microsoft or any other company will not call you about a virus unless it is your ISP and they are planning on shutting you down. To bad the idiot on the other end of the phone did not realize that I run a pure MAC OS environment at home. No Microsoft crap. To quote 1 person. Winning!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from a company saying they are affiliated with Microsoft and they want to clear error messages from my computer and made me go to myinfopc.com so that they can clear the errors from my pc. They logged into my computer thy hanged up the phone. I think these people hacked into my PC!
