When I got a vm from this number I was sure it was scam yet it certainly sounded convicing.  The supposed "agent William Wright with the US DEA" sounded pretty convicing, spoke English without an accent and sounded professional. It couldn't help but make me feel a bit nervous even though I knew better and I was grateful for everyone's post here to reassure me I was right and this was pure scam.  I can't imagine if he had called someone less supisious than I am like my older parents.  It would have truely worried them. Ignore these people, report them if you can and tell your friends that this is out there! Thanks again all who posted.

I got a call from William Wright today.  Same story, I bought diet pills in '06 and '07.  All I could think was "my kids!!" When he told me I could make a payment to the Federal Court in Dominican Republic I pretty much realized it was a scam. But not wanting to take any chances I called the DEA in Washington.  I didn't even need to finish telling the story to the girl that answered the phone before she said it's a phone scam.  She gave me a number to report it and I did.

I just got a call from Special Agent William Wright at this number today.  He told me the same thing, up to a year in jail or $1850 payable to the Federal Courts in the Dominican Republic.
He's improved upon his accent and profanities!!  Definitely getting better at his game, he didn't pressure me for payment, said have my attorney call him at the number.
He went wrong saying to make a payment to DR.
I reported him to the real USDEA.

I do the same thing to harass them.

i just got a call from a William Wright @ (202)239-2860 saying he was from the DEA. I called back & He said I received medication in the mail overseas from as early as '09 and He had sent the paperwork to my local courthouse and I would be arrested & held in a federal Prison for about 45 days until my courtdate if I did not send $1,000 to The Dominican Republic. I did receive meds overseas but it said it was legitimate & I had a script. Not to mention it was about 4-5 yrs ago. So I call the local police & they put me on hold 4ever n comeback saying William Wright is a legit agent of the DEA in DC. which freaked me out even further bc I am a single mother on SSI who gets less than $1000/mnth. I'm hysterical at this point so my mom looks up the DC DEA # & guess what it wasn't the 1 that called me. Also she calls the police again & they said it had to be a  scam bc legally you cannot dismiss charges in the form of any payment much less to another country. So whoever this jack-off is is actually using a legit DEA Agents name & seems to get his jollys 4rm freaking out a single mother on SSI making her think shes soon gonna be put in a federal prison. I hope karma comes around & he gets his. Even after realizing it was a scam it took a few hours 4 my heart rate 2 come down. Just wanted ppl to read this so if it happens to them they can rest easy. No amount of $$$ will erase a real charge. that would happen after you were in front of a judge if they dictated it.  DONT SEND THEM YOUR $$$$!!!!!!

Receieved message from Officer Wright 1-202-241-8927 ext 1188 said I had to pay 1800 to stay out of prison for buying some weak a** diet pills from South America. Had me going until I foud this site.

Thank you all so much for posting this!!! Got the infamous all from William Wright to send $ to the Dominican. Without this post, I would have lost a lot of money and suffered much heartache and stress IN ADDITION TO WHAT I ALREADY SUFFERED!!!!

I just got a call from Thee William Rice Dea agent from washington dc. his new number is 202-241-8927 saying the same thing you guys are talking about, stupid b*****d, hope he rots in hell.

This happened to me over a year ago.   I am so disappointed that this continues to happen.   This SOB Rice/whatever his name is called me and it was during the time my mother was going through chemo.   I didn't have the money to pay them and my poor mother, weakened from the chemo, went to the bank with me to get the 3500 they asked for.   She was so upset and scared I would be arrested.  I am so thankful I called a friend in law enforcement and he called them.  He knew it was a scam immediately as he knew the real DEA doesn't have lieutenants.  

My mother has since passed and when I think about the distress they caused to her it makes me so angry.   Please, to all victims, let's not rest until we aggravate enough government agencies that they find a way to stop these horrible men.  Also we have to keep calling Magic Jack, Western Union, Chase and MAKE THEM DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE CRIMINALS.   They are evidently making a good living off this scam.

As of today 7/30/11 they are still up to it. He called me a few days ago asking for 3,700.00. his phone numer now is 202-241-8927. Thats if he has not changed it yet. It really is a shame he is still able to do this a whole year later. I am sure he will burn in hell one day :~)

They are still at it.  I received a phone call from, "agent William Rice of the DEA".  He demanded an immeadiate moneygram for $1850.00 or I would have to go to court in Washington DC.  And best case scenerio, according to him,  would be six months in Federal Prison.  He had my address from 6
years ago and I told him I was not in Ca. at the time, but visiting with my father in New Jersey.  He then asked me if I told my father about ordering perscriptions on line.  I assume he thought I was a young adult.  I told my dad what had happened.  My father then called a lawyer and my family member who works for the DEA.  This number is (202) 241-8927.  It is a scam which has caused many people, including my father, who is 75 and has a heart condition, to become very upset.  Please do not respond to this intimidation.  They want the money sent to the Dominican Republic.  The DEA does not opperate in this manner.  They are preditors.  I hope this message helps anyone who gets a similar call.

I dont know for sure but 2yrs. ago I order phentermine online and paid etc. and a man named Lt. Williams said that they weree going to court in Washington DC tomorrow over it being sent from overseas like I knew where it came from that i could possibly pay a 950. dollar fine or get a lawyer told him to do what ever. I think he just wanted me to pay a fine.

I was taken a back from the name some people used in there comment as regards some scam issues here... I also would love the notice and changed or better still corrections because there are a million and 1 or thousand and 1 Julio Santana in the states and everywhere in the world. I am not a scammer or have never been scammed or tried scamming anyone . All i am saying is when you try to comment on issues and when it results to calling names be alert so as not to spoil other people's name with the same name alike. Thanks

I just received the same exact call from these men, King and Williams who told me the same thing:  knew that I ordered diet medication on line from several years ago, new my address, and told me to get a lawyer because I was facing jail time!  I called the DEA and they were of no help.  If they call me back to extort money, I am going to tell them to BL*W ME!

Exact same thing happened to me just today. I have contacted to DEA in Miami Fl. also the real FBI in Ft-myers Fl. This is a scam. The Drug Enf. Adm. was very interest that still at this moment you call the number and it is answered Drug Enf. Adm. of Washington D.C. Anyone that would want to report this as I have the real Drug Enf. office is #954-660-4500, just explain what had happened.

This son of a b***h called me today.   He scared me to death.   He knew enough about me about the damn diet pills I had ordered two years ago to sound ligit.  What really made it real to me is when I called him back and got this official sounding answering service saying DEA Washington DC  blah  blah  blah.   Anyway, I was just about to send him the money!   HE ASKED FOR $3,000 from me.   Then when he started "negotiating" with me on my "fine" I smelled a rat!    WE ALL NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND STOP THIS SCAMMER!   What I'd really like to do is to find him and beat the horse s**t out of him!     KARMA WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT BLOOD SUCKER!

As of today, July 8, 2010, the new name the scam artist is using is Lt. William Weiss.  Phone number 202/239-4026.  Tells you that he is with the DEA and they have confiscated packages sent to your address that contain illegal prescriptions per the Rhiengold act.  Says you only have a few hours or (in my case) your husband will have to come to DC to court and then go to jail for international drug crimes.  Works with another scam artist who calls himself Julio Santana.  Julio has his own phone number of 829-754-0006.  Julio's address is 1660 George Washington Avenue, Suite 107.  Moca,  Dominica Republic  00809.  They will threaten you and harass you with many phone calls.  They wanted me to send money via Western Union or there would be an arrest for international drug issues.  They are very threatening.  They have another 'enforcer' that goes by the name of Directory Richard King, that will also call and threaten you.

If they do scam you out of money, call Western Union and let them know.  Regardless, call your local law enforcement.  And, call the DEA.  

The call type is SCAM, which is not a choice on this web site.

Received a call from this number 202-239-5571 and he said his name was officer nick Delgado on behalf of the DEA and he is investigating a package being held with my name and address. He sounded very unprofessional, and had a very thick Hispanic accent, with very poor grammar and pronunciation. His manner of speaking was laughable considering what he claimed to be. Very uneducated and used slang and profanities when questioned about his credentials.

Tries to convince me to pay a $1000 or he is coming to my home. Said it must be western union wire transfer, and they demand you to send it to a: "Julio Santana Joseph."

It was was comparable to cheech and chong calling you claiming to be with the national defense department. Someone would have to be very paranoid, and recently purchased narcotics online to fall for his impersonation. In that case, the guilt prevents logical examination of Nick's second grade reading skills.

Just got to phone calls from 3 different so called detectives Nick Delgado, David Wallace, and Louis Thomas.  They asked for me to pay a fine in liue of dismissal of charges, of $950, So I called DEA main offices, in DC and Cambridge MA, and they said it is a scam and it is not illegal to buy rx's thru the inteet and certainly not fertillity drugs perscribed by a doctor from 2 years ago, the phone numbers they gave me are 202-239-5571,
617-252-8207, and of course their fines dept # 617-252-8207. This is a scam, they are very convincing.  So if you come across this, ignore it.  I had 3 different DEA agencies that confirmed this and said it has been going on for sometime, also they try to convince you that the reason the case # doesn't show up in their database is because it is a ongoing investigation.  BOGUS.  beware, don't get scamed.

I got a similar call today including the part about confiscated drugs from the Dominican Republic. He got out a court date of Dec 8th  at the federal courthouse in DC. Then the phone ( my work number!  Went dead. No further info.   I plan to io ignore since I would think a person should get some form of official written correspondence on something like this. Never purchased drugs from Internet.....still a scary call and I don't have the number the call came from.
