Some a-hole allegedly from pepco called one of our most disused back office extensions in a huge government complex.  Told him we would be happy to switch to whatever service he was selling.  He became very excited at the prospect of a potential sale.  Gave him the name of character from a tv sitcom, made up a non-existent address and was then placed on hold for some sort of "authorization".  After only about 20 seconds, the call disconnected.

Just got a call from this phone number, "calling about the PEPCO bill."  We don't have a PEPCO bill.  I started to ask questions, and the guy hung up.  Some sort of scam.

Got another call from this number.  "This is Robert, calling about the PEPCO bill...."   I asked who did he work for twice and he hung up. I placed the number in the 'blocked call' list in my computer.  That is the last time I will have to deal with that number.

Called and hung up on me as well.

I answered and they hung up.  Called back and it was "Energy Choice Experts...leave a emssage"
