From reading the messages that were left, some of you, like myself filled out some information on-line.  I did that last night, and first thing this morning I got a call.  Can't remember the person's name I spoke to, but he referred me to Jason Kalafah.  I was concerned when I first spoke to this person, him informing me that I was being sued.  He instructed me to call Jason asap.  When I called the 202-239-7552 number back, it took me directly to an answering machine.   But, the crazy part was I could hear the exact same noise in the background as I heard when I talked to the original caller.  I'm upset because I was seeking help, and all of the sites that I visited claimed to be secure sites.  Hope someone stops them, and very soon.

I have been harassed and threatened by an Indian man from this number named "Michael Brown." He threatened to Blacklist My SSN and that a lawsuit was being filed against me. He also left a message saying that he had my work number and I was going to lose my job because he was going to call and let them know about my lawsuit. As soon as I told him I had called my attorney he hung up on me.

Like the rest of you, I have been getting calls from this number.  They have called my work and threatened them and me.  Said I owed a debt and that I would be arrested.  Luckily, my employers are wise to scams and looked them up.  I have not answered or returned any of their calls as they soon grow tired of not talking to anyone.  Unfortunately anyone filling out an application on line is subject to their information being sold to people like this.  It is a shame that good people have to go through things like this.  There should be a better way to protect yourself from hackers and hijackers.

I have got these calls too, telling me the federal marshals have an arrest warrant for me and will be at my doorstep tomorrow. I got a call from a California number, telling me they were calling from Federal Trade commission and asked me to call this lawyer in Washington DC, Jason Kalafat. It worried me because I thought my identity was stolen and also recently my credit card was compromised, so I called, but while I was taking with this person who read me a fictitious case against me which made no sense and he started using language and tone to scare me, I googled Jason Kalafat, and it took me to a website for a defense attorney in Washington, DC. Right then it made me realize it was a scam, ... really a defense attorney is someone I would call to defend me verses he calling me and also there was a youtube video of him talking and the voices didn't match, this person on the phone definitely had a strong Indian accent... when I told him he is not Jason Kalafat, he told me I would know tomorrow when the marshals show up on my doorstep and hung up ... still waiting for the fed marshals to show up .... I also called Mr. Kalafat's office and they said they are aware of this scam and the police is investigating. They offered a number to call to report if I had made any payment to them, which I have not. This needs to be stopped... No one has a right to call and even for a minute bother anyone with their ludicrous lies !!! It messed up my evening and family time please don't let them mess with your mind !!!

Today I received a call from 202 239 7552 at my office number and cell number. I applied for some loans yesterday and no am being harassed non stop by some Indian man. They claim to be from the Federal Reserve and to have my social security number.

I had my attorney call back and they did not believe my attorney was an actual attorney, but he is.

Any suggestions?

I keep getting calls from the same number today, this Indian had the nerve to even call my job. I called back, he said he was from the Federal something. Now he won't stop harassing me. I have been receiving calls and voicemail messages from this number for days.  They may call for 3 minutes - with three separate calls.  When I finally have a voicemail message - it's from someone who I can barely understand - threatening me to hire a lawyer, etc.  He says he's collecting a debt from ABS - something or other.  

Like I said I can't understand what he's saying and when I call back, I can't reach anyone.

I  filled out a survery on line and the next day this number called my place of employment about 6 times a day the bad thing is I work for law enforcement and after my supervisor told them that they still kept calling now I am about to file a police report on that number, they all have nigerian or indian accents and threaten to sue me, now I am worried they will get my bank account information...they will not stop!

They have called my cell and my work.  I made the mistake of filling out information online and now I'm paying for it.  Hope they can be stopped.

today I got a call for my husband, I assumed it was a solicitor so I said, please take this number off your list. The Indian man on the line with a very thick accent said, "This is ABS legal, I'm not trying to sell anything, I need to talk to _____." I asked what this was regarding. He just repeated that it was a law office and needed to talk to ____. I asked if this was for a debt, and told him that by law he had to tell me....He was getting frustrated with me by then and said "Oh, my God! I want to talk to ____!" I told him that he was being offensive and that he still hadn't answered my question. He hung up on me. I called the number back, and asked for a supervisor because I wanted to file a complain about whoever had just called me. He started rattling off a number to me. I then realized that I was talking to the same person who had called me, and I asked that he remove me from their call list. He told me to call the number, he didn't want to talk to me. He hung up. I called back. This time he didn't even say the business name just "Hello". I asked for his name. He said it was Babbu. I then asked him if there was a reason he was being so rude to me. He said, "Yes". I said, could you tell me? He said "No". Then hung up again. By this time I was back home so my husband and I called together. I told him that ____ was on the line with me, as that was who he wanted to talk to, and he hung up on us.We tried calling back and it went straight to a voicemail. My husband left a message telling them not to call again with a few sentence enhancers....Tonight he gets to work and has a voicemail from them. How they got his work number and his extension, I have no idea. In the message they said that the matter was time sensitive and that if he or his lawyer didn't call back immediately he would be arrested, and "Not even God can help you". The number that they left to call them back was the same one we had gotten calls from. I googled the number and found this page! I have filed a complaint with FTC, anything else I need to do?

just got back to my desk at work and listened to this voicemail from an indian dude that called himself Steve Parker!! i was laughing my a** off listening to this fool barely be able to read from the obvious script he was trying to read from. you're from india, and you can barely speak english! how the hell is your name Steve Parker?!?! HAHAAHA!! i could understand his "name" better than anything else he said! LOL hilarious!!

People called from this number 2 times saying that there was a 3 lawsuits against me, not paying back a loan I never took, check fraud and deception to steal money from a company. They threaten you saying law enforcement will be at your home in about 3-4 hrs Jason Calafat is one of the attournies 1-202-239-7552 x 121.The number on a reverse search with the phone company does not register with the phone company. This is an extortion scam, someone has stolen my identification I believe to do this horrible crap.

They call every two minutes since this morning trying to get my bank information. When I finally lost my temper and said stop he said would call every 3 minutes and he has left message saying I was being sued and arrested and "God have Mercy on my Soul. This is terrorism short and simple and I have to cut off MY phone to keep from being harassed something should be done not right innocent people are harassed like this.They call from different numbers over and over again So upset!!!!

You receive a call saying they will loan you money, but you have to pay a fee upfront?

This number called me and said that I had criminal charges against my name and gave me the correct ss#. When I told him I didn't know what he was talking about and he had the wrong person he then cupped the mouthpiece on his phone and told me that I was looking for a loan and had been approved. This people filter the sites used to give loan information. They request a money pak card with 10% of an up front payment for a loan. Don't pay anything upfront for loans. Not even doc fees.

The calls started yesterday saying I was going to jail for bank fraud. They will even try and call using 911. When it started I happen to pass a police officer who confirmed it was a scam. This is so aggravating!

Been getting phone calls from 202-239-7552 stating he was an attorney from Washington DC and that he was going to have the police take me to Washington DC and lock me up for a year because I defaulted on a loan. His name is Jason and he sounds like he is Indian. He wanted his first payment on a Green Dot Money Pak which sounds like a big scam.

This man who said he was named David Miller called and said he was a paralegal representing the federal government. When I asked him which federal government  he got very angry and asked me what I meant by that . He had a very heavy Indian or Bangladeshi accent . He asked me if I wanted to "take care " of this matter for my fiance . I said I could not legally do that b/c I was not his wife then he hung up.

Calls started coming in last October and I actually gave the fools 502.24.  Now the calls are starting again from the following numbers:  630-869-1339 Downersgrove, IL,713-955-5673 Houston, TX,214-814-5828 New York City, NY ,917-259-6808,202-239-7552 Washington,DC.  The first time they stated they were Amscot and I paid Pinnacle Payment Process Center.  Called for weeks, spoke to different managers who all said they would send the information as to when I took the loan, where the check was cashed, etc.  Never got anything but a fake letter stating I paid.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for the past 2 days they are threatening me with a law suit and they say not even God can help me.
