I received a call from them as well. Said they were in California, when actually they are in DC. Played like I was the victim ('cause I knew it was a scam) and when I wouldn't give them the info they wanted and argued with them on the phone, he tols me what to do (in not so many nice words) which was actually funny. It is funny how the same person can have different names when you call them. So here's waht needs to be done................EVERYONE call them at all hours of the day and night and tell them you got a message to call. Don't give them any information NO MATTER WHAT. Just tell them you want to talk to Roger Smith. Just kepp telling them you want to talk to Roger Smith. (You will always talk to the same person (male), no matter what the name is, but ask for Roger Smith and don't tell them anything. When they say they can't transfer unless they know why you are calling, tell them it is none of their business, that you want to talk to Roger Smith. MAKE THEM SORRY THEY EVEN STARTED THIS. IF EVERYONE CALLS THEM AT ALL HOURS, they will quit. They don't call me anymore. I wll call them about 3 AM again.

I received a call from this number today twice on my cell and once at work. It scared me to death. They said it was for a payday loan I had taken out, which I did take out a payday loan but it was awhile ago and Im working directly with the company to pay it back. I was almost convinced it was real until he told me to go take out another payday loan to pay off this one. So after I told him no, he asked me well how much can you pay, and if I made an agreement today he wouldnt send the law inforcement to my job on Friday to take me away in handcuffs....I had to stop and think for a minute like, this so called lawyer is giving out way to much information to be the defenders attorney. And what real attorney is gone tell you to go take out another payday loan to payoff a payday loan. I was still on edge so I came home and started researching and found this info. Thank you ALL for your comments and posts. They really helped to put my nerves at ease.

THEY CONTINUE TO HARRASS ME FROM 202-241-3728 CLAIMING THEIR NAME IS "ROGER SMITH, LEGAL DEPT OF 1ST STATE ATTORNEY".  I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE "CONSUMER COMPLAINT" FDIC REPORTS, REPEATIDLY TOLD THEM TO STOP CALLING ME.  THEY ARE NOW CALLING MY EMPLOYMENT.

Got a call from them today, threatening me, a said I would be arrested tomorrow.
They certainly don't know the laws in this state. I'm a retired police officer of 30 years, and handled the courts here for the last ten years.
When I started explaining TCA codes, they hung up. But,I did get the chance to tell them to go home!

3 times they called today.  Calling after I said to stop calling.  Claiming to be Jeff Taylor from some law firm.

I have had about 12 calls from this number today alone. Yes, cannot understand him and after reading these replies, feel that it is the same person calling me too. I'm so relieved that this is not something real.

I have received calls on my cell and at work number from this number. Alledging fraudulent activity linked to my SSN and name.  I do not take non work related calls at my job. It is a hospital. I would appreciate if this individual / associates of this number would not call me again.

Hello. I have also received calls from this number. I received 1 yesterday, and 3 today in less than 3 hours. The guy has what sounds like an Indian accent, and is VERY dfficult to understand. There is also alot of background noise as well. I have gotten threatened also about lawyers, court, loss of job and authorities coming to my home and/or workplace to pick me up. I have been stressed out and very upset to say the least. Any insight or help/advice on this matter ? I have 2 payday loans online that I did, but they have been taking out the re-finance fee every month until I can pay it all back.

they called trying to intimidate a court action case over a loan never itnitated.now i applied online but closed the bank account for the intial case so there is not any fraud here so they are messing with the right person.you cant intimidate me i am not in a position to take or get any loan.i have a trust

I have receved various phone calls on this number from a Kevin Matthews of the Bureau of Justice Statistics stating this is a legal matter of money I owe. They wanted me to fax a copy of my check with the amount written on it. This person also said I could use a pay card to pay the amount. I could barely understand this person who appeared to have an Indian accent. I am now being threatened their attorney Frank Murphy has a case file entered in the court.

I have a pay day loan from American Web Loan. They have an extension fee they take out every month until the loan is payed off. Yet I have gotten repeated calls from a Kevin Matthews of the Bureau of Justice Statistics who is difficult to understand about  paying money I owe. I was given a case file number to appear in court and a lawyer's name of Frank Murphy who is also difficult to understand and has an accent. I am not paying a dime

I recieve calls from this number weekly.  They ask for the same person every time.  I've been telling them for 6 months that no one here knows her or is her, and to take our number off their call list.  they're rude and pushy and won't take no for an answer.  They continue to call.
