Don't give these scammers any info about you of any sort. The IRS will not call you, they do their work by mail, so be careful.

brain from tel no 202 280 7234 called to say his from the irs inspector general office in Washington dc,  when i told him i will be reporting this to police, he cut me off, tried to call, got a voice mail

A guy left me a message from 202-280-7234 yesterday 05/08/2014.  Very bad connection claiming to be with the Treasury Department.  He called again the next day.  his time I talked to him.  He goes by the name Brian Allen.  He claimed that I exceeded the response time of an IRS  letter they sent me three months ago.  I am waiting to see what is in the letter as he said they will mail it to me again.  Smells fishy and It does not sound right.

I just received a call from 202-280-7234 stating that some warrants have been issued by Fed but the message wasn't clear.

I am ignoring this as if FED wants to warn mw it has to issue in writing and obviously this should be a scam.

Also received a call from 2022807234, left message that there is a criminal investigation and that case number CM 100199 and that his name is officer jerry Zanuck.  He sounded foreign, had to listen to message multiple times.
Luckily we called the main IRS number and got a hold of the Hotline agent on call and he checked for this jerry Zanuck who does not exist.
This is a SCAM.
Do not call these people back.

live in Sioux Falls, SD and received a call from a person who claimed to be a police officer  from crime and investigating department informing me that my name and physical address are under arrest because of some kind of crime ! he said his name is Alex Mknelly has strong accent gave me his tel # as 202-280-7234 and case # CM100199, I told him he is lying but kept asking me questions, then I hanged off the phone

I just received same call stating that I'm under investigation  and they have a warrant against me and i need to pay $984 to hold case till it clears.

Yes it is a scam. I was told that they have a warren against me and I can pay $985.00 to hold the warren until the case clears. I told them go the hell and he said that they are going to send a cop to my door. I called state police and they verified that it is a scam. It is interesting that both man and woman that I talked to have foreign accent.  

Got a call from this number 202-280-7234 claiming the IRS Investigation Department and when I called back a lady answered me with the same words, when I told her about the SCAM she hanged up the phone.

I got a call from this phone yesterday, stating that I am under investigation and need to call officer Alex smith and when I called back there is voice male with female voice that states this is crime investigation department of taxation general inspector.

just received a call from 202 280 7234 claiming they are from taxation department, i told him off and then called the number the recording states that caller has reached department of taxation. the caller and the female voice mail had foreign accent.

I was extremely scared and about to pass out. I was waiting in my house for the authorities to come and pick me up. This was no joke. I mean for people who do not know what is going on could become a life threatening situation. I was extremely scared and mortified. I cannot even describe how I felt for 2 hours. I was told i will be picked up within 2.5 hours and/or I should go in to my local police station to report myself. Telling me that they have mailed me information with a usps delivery tracking number. They even had a case number against me. This really sounded real and felt real. Wow! So relieved. I hope these people are caught.

They also called us. How many more calls does it take for police to do something about it. This is not just a prank call. They seem to be getting more information from these calls (verifying address, names, phone numbers, recording voices and use them illegally, etc.

Received a call on April 21 2014 from (202-280-7234) a man calling himself Brian Allen. He claimed he worked for the Treasury Inspection General for Tax Adminisration in Washington DC.He said there was a warrant filed against my husbands main and physical address gave a warrant number and said it was under investigation. you could hear noise in the background as if several people was on the phone making phone calls.The guy sounded foreign and had to listen to the message on the answering machine several times to try to make out some of his words.There was one point when he was talking and his phone cut out for about 5 seconds like a cell phone will do when you lose signal.I called the IRS to make sure my husband and I did't have a problem we were not aware of.The IRS employee pulled our file and assured me everything was fine. She googled the number and found the posts everyone had left about this being a scam.There is enough stress in daily life and we don't need people like this to make things more complicated and worse!!!!

Just get a Voice Mail from Bryan Allen under the same number. This is a Scam.

Just received a call (from 202-280-7234) from a Brian Alan pretending calling from Treasury Department . He says is from the crime investigation department. The call is coming from the District of Columbia 202-280-7234. When I told him this is scam, he replied me that go to precinct  and call me from there.

This morning i received a phone call from prob from the same people about an arrest warrant issued on me for some unpaid taxes. it scared the s*** out of me. i almost passed out. i hope those people go to hell and they get what's coming to them. as*holes don't have a life and go bothering everyone. i hope they get caught and get a pipe shoved up their. a**. I got a call from this number to tell me that I am under invistagation for my last year tax return. They could not answer many of my questions. I am supposed to get a call from them tomorrow to telll me what to do.

That phone number is spoofed ( faked).    The caller is probably not even in the United States.

Just received a call from a Brian Alan or it sounded like he was saying officer Varian Alan. He used my sons name as the person under investigation. He says there is a warrant file against my sons name and his fiscal address is under investigation. This Varian Alan does not identify the address. He says is from the crime investigation department of (here he sought of stumbles on his words so it is not quite clear what he is saying, it sounded like) surgery inspector general for tax administration. The call is coming from the District of Columbia 202-280-7234. Thanks for this post! I had heard of the Tax Scam before but it did not come to my mind when I got this call, it was in my voice mail, I did not speak to the person.

Got several phone calls from this number. said they were officers investigating criminal investigation about my tax. I knew these were scams and told him I would report to police about the scam. The guy kept saying I need tax audit and send someone over, I told him to take my mid finger and hung up!

Total scam.  Ignore 'em.
