They call but don't respond when I answer. Real pests.

have received many hang up phone calls from the number below.

On 12/12/2009 at 12:59pm, this number (202-292-1383) showed up on My caller ID. I wasn't at home at the time, so do not know who it was that called.

I know a few folks in that area, but I'm sure it wasn't them that dialed.

I ran a reverse search on the website phonenumber dot com to no avial. The search resulted in an unlisted land line number in Westchester, DC.

Any idea who's number this is anyone?

Another website says it's Bill pretending to request donations for American Homeless Veterans.  However, beyond his attempt to bilk people out of hard earned money for pretend victims, "Bill" seems to enjoy creeping people out.  He often stays on the phone - silent.  He sometimes knows people's names.

Who belong's to this number?  Getting tired of them constantly calling!!

I have been getting one or two calls a day at all hours from this number for several weeks.  I've answered a few times and the person on the other end hangs up immediately.  I did make a donation to the Homeless American Veterans last year (it is a legitimate organization because I found their Tax ID number), but I don't know if the number 202-292-1383 is their number since no one ever answers or leaves a message.  Why in the world would they call repeatedly and never leave a message??  This is a complete mystery to me!

this number calls all the time.it needs to stop.maybe ill take out my land line.see how my phone co. likes it.

I have received calls from this number; no message is ever left.  The calls are at all times.

On 11/6, three calls @ 2:39, 2:40 & 7:03 P.M. were billed to me by at&t out of Washington DC. from this phone number.   I did call to complain & a credit was issued to my bill. It was only a small charge, however, I feel it was some kind of scam as 'I' (and nobody in my house) made these three calls.  Now that I think of it===== I better not get 'charged' for writing this complaint.  You can't trust ANYONE anymore, nowadays From the looks of the number, a lot of people have complaints about this number.  What is going on?

Shovel, I got the call too.  I am in no way a republican. I prefer that the government would actually do something to make life better for average Americans.  So your theory is not valid.  These calls are annoying though.

I bet everyone who recieved this call is either a registered Republican or signed a petition/email signup form that in some way is affiliated with a group that could be "construed" as Anti government or anti democrat.

Call recieved to a landline from this number and was hung up on. I immediately called back from my cell phone to hear a generic hold message and then the call was answered by a gentleman by the name of Bill with American Homeless and Veterans or something of that sort. Most likely looking for donations. I immediately hung up on him. I am all for making donations to the homeless and charities but NEVER over the phone especially a NON-LOCAL number as I live in Florida and this call originated from Washington DC!!!

I called the number back from my cell phone and someone named Bill answerwed with American Homeless and Veterans...probably looking for donations!!
