Called the number back.  It's from a group called Tea Party Patriots and you can leave the number you want removed from their list.

the law was passed under Bush.

I just received a call from that number as well.   Since I happened to have my computer on, I quickly googled the number, 202-350-9723 where I found all of these comments.   I knew right off the bat not to even pick up on it!

Wow!  If you scroll through the comment section here, those receiving a call have reported that the caller identified themselves as a wide array of different companies, political parties, even a few that said it was from pet control.  

Several people on here said it came from a conservative group, others said it came from a progressive group, while others said it came from absolutely no one having anything do to with politics.

If you get a call like this that you're not sure of and happen to be on line, do a super quick search and you'll know NOT to pick up.   THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED!!!

Talk to them when they call. if they are doing a survey - unfortunately it is legal. Never give your name, phone# CC info, address or anything. Advise them you intend to report them to the FCC if they have a prerecorded message (which is totally illegal, even if they are doing a survey). Hanging up on you is an annoyance call and is also illegal. The FCC will listen to you and will act upon your complaint. Hang up calls is all the more reason to report them to FCC.  Tell them to stop calling you when you answer the phone If they continue to call - REPORT TO THE FCC BY FILING A COMPLAINT, WHICH YOU MUST FILL OUT THE FORM ONLINE, by going to:: fcc.gov/complaints. Believe me it works, I've done it many times. I don't have the time to do it, as it's time consuming & I'm busy too,yet I'm so willing to help the system work - I'm on a crusade to nail these fools. Thus I do take time to complete the complaint forms when I get these calls.. Again, it's unfortunate, but surveys, church groups, political calls  & legitimate charity organizations are legal. Find out whose calling you, get their name and company name, then contact the FCC & fill out complaint form online. You can also talk w/FCC (a live person) by calling 888-225-5322 - be patient & you'll eventually get a live person to talk with who will help answer your questions. Take the time to do it so we can get these annoyance calls stopped. Again, remember to never give info to anyone--nine times out of 10 these calls are predators looking to rob you. If the public would get SAVVY, perhaps these low-life individuals/scammers would give up and get a real job.  Protect your rights and report it.

I live in Nebraska and got this call on my caller i.d. No message. Called it back and heard music for about 1 minute and hung up and began investigating. ???? First time. I'll see if they call again. my hunch says they will.

The number appears to be associated with the Republican Party, perhaps a 3rd party fund raiser.

They got me for a credit card payment of $66

This company Suncoast Media of Florida is a scam... If you see this number hang up. They may offer you a $ 250.00 to 1,000.00 shopping spree and to send you magazine subscriptions, but do not give they any personal information or credit card numbers. If you are a victim of this Scam, immediately contact your bank and cancel your credit or debit card and have another card issued to stop them from stealing from you!

I received a call from (202) 350-9723.  I keep getting these calls but no one leaves a message. This is extremely annoying and harrassing.  Why doesn't the phone company get involved?  Call them and tell them that something has to be done!

Ticks me off that if you are getting annoying calls like this that the phone companies would deny access to these people on the grounds of harrassment!  All they usually tell you is, "you can change your number"..  Yah, like I'm going to change the number I've had for 18 years!

Young girl named Ashley or Aubrey or such said she was calling from CSI(?).  Not sure because she was talking really fast.  Asked if I was voting for Mark Schaffer or Dick Pfeil in the up coming primary.  I told her the latter and she said thank you and hung up.

I keep getting this call too. Here is what I do:

Create a contact in your phone called "SCAM".
Put any annoying number in this contact.
Set the ringer to off.

If they call you never know until you look at your missed calls. They are no longer annoying  you, just wasting their time and money.

Caller ID read "WASH DC Call."  Left message; woman's voice saying "Hi this is Terry can you hear me all right?  Hello this is Terry can you hear me?"  I also heard other voices in background, sounded like a call center.  Primary elections are coming up and I have gotten many calls from politicians reminding me to vote.

Called me 2:46 PM CST 4.19.10 saying I won $250 gift card and 3 free magazine subscriptions. I said okay and told them to pick any 3. Then they wanted me to support The Publishers for $3.95 a week and I said no, I don't want to pay anything.

I also started getting no-voicemail phone calls from this number soon after attending a wedding fair in MN, signing up at theknot.com, and trying on dresses (which somehow requires collection of a lot of personal information) at David's Bridal.  Ugh.

i keep getting calls and when i call back i get music, we dont have a dog or any pets so thats strange its animal control. i never answer they always call when im not around my cell and i see the missed call later

WTH???  I tried to file a complaint against number 202-350-9723 in the national do not call registry and this is the message I received:

I picked up after 3 rings and no one was there.  Called ID says:  CALL CENTER, DC  202-350-9723

I'm in Las Vegas, and I just received the second call from them today.  First time they called me this morning, and now they just called me at 5:28pm Pacific time.  They are so annoying!!!!

Keeps calling and hangs up.  Annoying.

They keep calling and not leaving a message I call back and its busy... Not sure where they are calling from. Area Code 202 is Washington D.C. though...
