Same message as the others have received, "Your account is okay, but to get reduced rates press 1 now...etc."  I blocked the number forever!

this is a scam to get your credit card number. once they get it they sell it and you get charges and have no idea how it happened. just ask the company name and address and they will hang up on you so quick you won't know what hit you.

Caller ID of "Voter Reach", made me pause to consider picking up- figured the DNC or my local liberal community (college town) was hiring students to call ahead of the OBummer re-election drive in 2012. Decided to wait and see what was written here, and check if any VM was being left. By both counts I made a good choice!!
Figured that this, like the 5 earlier calls today, are all spoofed numbers leading back to some scam or debt collector. My advice; use VM exclusively (even for local area code calls that you don't recognize), and only call back those numbers you can verify- use this site (or have it in a browser tab ready to check the number as it rings) and write a short note for posterity. I've come across a note (by my avatar) from over a year ago for a number that seemed vaguely familiar and which I was about to pick up on, but avoided. so many of these "Phishing schemes" are just to verify that there is a live answerer. Don't play their game!

I now have purchased an air horn. I call them back wait to talk to someone. I speak softly and ask if they can hear me OK. When I finally think that they have increased the volume on their end, I blast the horn on the ear. Hope they lose their hearing for life.

I get so sick of these calls. When they call me I save the number and enter it as junk so I see "Junk" is calling me and I don't answer, but I swear they have a million and one different numbers to use and annoy people with. I cpressed the number once for a customer service representative and told them how I wanted to be taken off the list and they hung up on me. This company is beyond rude! Vile, despicable operation!

My understanding about these people is that the minute that they get  your credit card number and number from the back and check to make sure it is legit, they have a cart of stuff on the internet ready to use your card on.  One lady said by the time she called her credit card company and they got to her account,  these scam people had used up every bit of her credit something like $10,000 in just 10 minutes.  They are a scam, do not give them any information.

I just started receiving calls from this number. My caller id showed up as "SERVICEMSG". I called back to see what the hell they wanted and got an automated voice instead. That gave me the option to press #1 to be removed from their list. We'll see how that goes...

Based on the reviews here. It's to lower interest rates. Funny, I don't own any type of credit cards, debit cards or loans. Never have, never will. I use cash and cash only - my house, bills, cars and college education - all cash. And if I really needed to make an online purchase those reloadable debit cards come in handy.

Take your scam somewhere else!

They want to lower my interest rate! Get calls from this number at least once a month. I follow the procedure to remove my number from their to call list but it doesn't help. They call again, and again, ...

Careful people....................these are scammers wanting into your wallet.
Do NOT give them any info about yourself or any cc #'s of any sort.

I never answer the phone when I get these calls,I let the voice mail take it then delete it. I have call block on my phone thru the cable company....what a great service to have. I just enter the number on my phone, they block it so I do not have to deal with such nonsense and intrusions.

This call really ticked me off!!  The caller ID showed Voter Reach.  That has nothing to do with lowering card interest rates.  It's just a gimmick to get people to answer their calls.  I asked her specifically what card she was calling about.  She couldn't answer any of the questions I asked her about specific cards I carry.  SCAM!!!

Automated messages are a nuisance, I'm suppose to be on the national do not call list.
The phone id says SERVICEMSG for this number
They need to stop!

Since you're obviously too stupid to understand, I will try to explain.  People like to vent, especially when they take the proper steps to prevent this and it still happens.  Also, it's nice to know it is a bogus call and not someone they may know, trying to call them.  Hope this helps check your attitude.

Interestingly enough I did a reverse lookup on the number and it is a Verizon cellular phone number. Assuming they aren't spoofing the number of course, which most likely they are.

Caller ID said "SERVICEMSG," automated call told me I was eligible for a reduction in my credit card interest rate. I chose the option to be removed from their list. It connected me to a rep anyway. He asked if I was calling about reducing interest rates. I said, no I wanted to be added to the do not call list so he hung up on me. Obviously not a credible company. Sure they are just doing another identity theft scam. Had this before but the caller ID showed the number for VISA, but it was exactly the same message.

Just got a call from this number about lowering crdit card rates.   It is from the district of Columbia.  Right now I have 5 numbers on my block list and I can still block 25 more.  They call, I block, they change numbers, call and it starts all over again.  I guess I will play phone tag with these idiots for a while.  When I hit 30, I am going to start sending them out to the FCC, FBI and other agencies.  The calll ID came up "voter reach" so do not be fooled by that title.  It looks like they are using false information for caller ID which I think is against the law.

Just noticed this article posted at 800notes:

<strong>16 Ways You Can be Phone Scammed</strong>

3. Offers to Lower Your Interest Rates: The calls begin with a recording that makes a tempting offer to lower your credit-card interest rates. Then you are switched to a live agent who collects from you the credit card number and its expiration, name, address, and in some cases even your social security number. The telemarketers have no intention of giving consumers better interest rates on their cards and instead <b>use the information to commit identity theft</b> and run up unwanted charges.

Again, tracing these scam artists is difficult: they spoof the caller ID information and use numerous VOIP accounts set up using stolen credit cards. <ins>The best thing to do is hang up, report the call to FTC and warn others through 800notes.com.</ins>

It is a waste of time to complain about the Do Not Call list. That is working. These guys are scammers.  We need to understand that they are crooks and don't give a crap about any lists. In fact, I wonder what kind of call list these jerks use, if any. Could be a phone book for all I know.

My suggestion, hang up on them just as soon as you recognize whose calling. They'll just move on to the next number and you'll be saving yourself a lot of aggravation.

99% plus of you are on the U.S./State DNC list so, why are you in here crying? For all of you leaving warnings; that's cool of you to do so but, the rest are posting here expecting that something will be done to stop it. Well, got news for you. Other than being added to another list of whiners just like yourselves, NOTHING will be done.

Called me today.  I didn't ask them to call, don't want them to call again, and realized a long time ago that asking to be taken off thier list just verifies to them that you are recieving calls at your number, and therefore puts you on more lists.
So here is how I handle these people, I suggest you do the same, calls slowed to a trickle.  They recently started up again, until....so get a live person on the phone.  Act like you have a problem with your throat, talk very low, objective is to get them to max out the volume on thier headset.  Then blow a whistle as loud as you possibly can in to the phone.  Every time I've done this, there was nobody on the line when I put the phone back to my ear.  Do it, it works!!

And forgot to add... when I tried to get her to admit she shouldn't have been calling ... she told me to "go f**k yourself sir" .... I've had interchanges with many companies before... resulting in being hung up on.. but rarely have I *EVER* had one of these people say something like that.  Completely uncalled for.

I actually played their game.. pressed one on the initial message to speak to one of their reps.. when she came on the phone.. they claimed to be cardmember services .... and then further that they are the ones that perform the processing of statements for the credit card companies (and yes I've seen that name there on one of my statements as she indicated with "if you look on your bill ...") The problem is, that we as card members have agreements with the banks on those cards ... chase, first american, citi group.. and as part of Cardmember Services being able to "service" the account, they are doing so as if a "messanger".  The messanger isn't the creator of the message, they aren't the legally bound representative of what the message says.. and as such, they *should not* be calling me  (us) with advertisments (trying to sell us on using their fee/interest rate reduction services).

The bank gave you information to process payments for them.. any use of that information outside of what was directly authorized is illegal (certainly immoral) and violates terms of service agreements ... especially when you tell your bank to put you on their donot call list ... and its CERTAINLY against the "Do Not Call" registry because we don't have business dealings with the "Messanger" we deal with *the bank*

horrible expectation that company has.. they think they can do what they want with the info they get ... they're wrong.. and they've been reported to DoNotCall.Gov ... they also used ficticious CID info.. mine said "Voter Reach". a**les.
