My elderly parents received a call from 202-380-9013. The person identified himself as "Michael Barger" from "The IRS". He informed my parents that he was assigned to assist them with their IRS issues and if they do not cooperate they will be prosecuted.
I called the number back and he answered the phone:
MB - "Good morning, IRS".
Me - "Where are you located"
MB - "Washington DC"
Me - "No, what is your street address"
MB - "Excuse me"
Me - "YOUR STREET ADDRESS, WHAT IS IT"
MB - CLICK - he hung up!
Stupid, idiot - not even a good con at that! Do your research criminal!
