Scam. My wife was told same spill,  she had declared bankrupt. She had paid bills late. Government never ask for bank account information over phone.

Hint: you NEVER have to pay for anything that's "free".  You certainly don't pay for government grants, and you don't pay upfront for loans either.  Any time you get a complete stranger calling, saying you've "won" this, or "qualified" for that, but you have to pay an up-front fee for taxes, application fee, etc - run!  Even if you've applied online for a loan (not a good idea), you NEVER pay any fees/installment/insurance/processing or application fee in order to receive the money.

i got a call from washington dc sayin i quailifed for 8400 free grant got conformation number & was told to call kelly waton @ 202-470-3386 she said she need card info & then shed add money but first i would have to pay 215

I got a call from an indian speaking guy named Officer Rex Tyler Id LS135 ,..and Amanda Lee..same things. 8400.00 only pay 200.00 to a charity..i told her it was a lie and told her she could shove it, then he called me back and i flipped out. Told him never to call me again

Glad i googled this.  Got the same call today.  Talked with a guy with a heavy asian/eastern accent, offering 8400.00 as a grant from the US government that does not need to be paid back and I will not pay taxes on and can be used for anything I deem appropriate as long as it wasn't illegal, gambling, etc.  At one point he said he had a bad connection and i could here him perfectly fine and he said he would call me back in five minutes.  Unfortunately, he did.  He went through the whole schpeal again and i challenged him.  I stated that I wasn't comfortable giving him any information about my bank, an existing pre-paid card or any other form of money.  He almost got indignant as to why I didn't understand.  I let him know that I understood everything he was saying but that I didn't know the government to just call random citizens and pass out money, too good to be true.  He then stated that I was breaking up and we got disconnected, he hasn't attempted to call me again.  Know you're stuff, the government doesn't need your personal information (they already have it) and they cut checks all the time, if they really wanted to just give you money, they would.  Don't give your info.

This number just called me and told me about the government loan i was approved for. $8,400.00 that id never have to pay back. So i cooperated stupidly and than was told i have to pay $215 for a one time application fee. I am pretty sure now that its a scam. They need to be stopped.

yes, like the above, they called me said I was approved for 8000$ and got my credit card number and got mad I wouldnt give it the ccn number, now a friend of mine on facebook sent me this link. omg! same thing!! omg someone call the police on this guy!

like an idiot i gave these people my financial info and after reading these review i froze my accont..  then when nathan brown called me back i told him that nothing checked out on the treasury.gov website they gave me and there was a rediculous amount of reports of it being a scam he said " ok sir you can go ahead and hang up the call" so i called him back several times and he didnt answer...

This guy call me with this number from Washington, Dc and than had me call another number to try to donate $215 just to get a $8400 grant!!! not taking it... DO NOT DO IT, IT IS A SCAM!!!!!

I am lucky that I took a few moment to find your comments as well others, before I was to engaged in any transactions. Thank you. You are right, these people need to be stopped. True we need to take their a** down I received a call from a man who sound like a Indian he said I was approved for 8.400 I gave him my bank information like a fool  lls then he told me to call Aaron Stone 202-407-7177 with the code Rj186 Mr Aaron Stone aka fraud man told me the same BS then said first I have to pay 210 to homeless kids for food and their education plus 30 to make the transaction a total of 240 for 8.400 yea right I immediately called my brother and we Googled his a** THANK GOD I'm nobody's fool Oh yea i cancelled my card

I just received a call from these ppl and I figured it was a scam but I gave them my empty debit card number to "transfer my 8400" to but I had to pay a one time service charge of $200, when I told them I had no money to even buy food "Kelly Watson" hung up. This gives the ppl in the country who actually are unfortunate hope and they turn around and knock you back on your a** looking crazy. I called my dad who is a lawyer and he called them back and chewed then out and threatened legal action and how much $ they would have to pay back and they apologized and hung up. They also got a lady who's daughter has cancer... Wiped her acct clean.. That's pathetic and sad. I never give them my banking info just in fear of what they can do. So ha! They got $0 off of me and probably looking sick as hell right now. Smh just petty BS.

C'mon folks. Let's give it back to these slime balls who think that Americans are cretins. They're Indians and Pakistanis without a penny to their name trying to sucker poor Americans into parting with their money. Thay can't do anything to us. But we can give it back to them and have a little fun in the process. Call those numbers back and lead them onto wild goose chases. Then...slam the door with a closing statement that you traced their number and the authorities will contact them. Anything. Just to aggravate them a little. It won't stop them but you gan get a few laughs at their expense.

I received this call today. I was told the same thing that was mentioned above, Filing taxes on time and not filing for bankruptcy. The representative i spoke with had broken English and I could hear the other telemarketers in the background. I knew the government doesn't give away money so easily But I humored him for a little bit. I didn't give up any information besides my name and after reading the post above I'm glad I didn't. The phone number came from a 202 area code which registered in Washington DC, Phone number was 2027774441. At first I wasn't aware of this being a scam so I told him to call back tomorrow after I gathered my information to provide me time to do research. Called my bank and checked online resources. All pointed towards a scam. If it's too good to be true it usually is.

I received a call from another number stating to call this number to verify my grant deposit of 8400 dollars when I called I was asked to pay 210 dollars for an application fee at a western union

I recieved this call at 12:15 today. Saying My name and number had been selected to get 8500.00 from the Government. They said you dont have to pay it back or pay any taxes. I said so whats this really about. This lady (didnt speak clear ENGLISH) repeated then yep she hung up.

I just finish talking to these guys.  It took me a minute to catch on,  they made me do the se thing and gave me a number 202 4077177 i f****d up by giving him my number.  As soon as i said " this is a scam" he hung up on me " i called again and asked him,  why you hang up on me!! He said that because i said it was a scam. So i said to him that in no way he can use my info
He said that id be deleted. My card is an unemployment card. If i get money deducted from here,  i figure the guy is asked out. Id report him to the real government. Birches!!

I'm so mad they called me too, just now i was instructed to call aaron stone . That was a big fat lie. They asked for $240 they wanted my personal information . i called the B.B.B they told me that it was a scam
