JUST GOT THE SAME ALLS, IM IN MILWAUKEE, WI. broken English caller had been blowing my cell phone up for weeks, I finally answer the weird 202 number, the rep called me by first and last name, then proceeding to tell me about my 7,000 "good citizen's" grant that I was selected for.  she said I qualified because I hadn't filed bankruptcy, my taxes were submitted timely and I had no criminal record.  they kept stressing the criminal record thing....so I verified my address and my age.  then im given a code number to call another 253 area code number (kent, WA), and that rep also stated I won the grant and to put 200 bucks on a green dot card-whatever that is...and my funds would be deposited same day.  I went to the computer and immediately saw this blog....there has got to be something the feds can do about this, they are impersonating the fed govt!!!!! just nuts!!

They called me a blocked number gave me this callback number 2068011737 and i called them.they told me o had to get a money card from walmart and put 205$ on it and call them back.they also tolde exactly how much the car would cost.of we were really gettin a check couldnt they just mail it to us?dont trust these scam artist

A lady with an Asian accent and very poor English gave me this number, 202.470.0788. 'Chelsea' explained repeatedly that I had won a grant from the US government for being a good citizen, paying my taxes, etc. She wanted, almost insisted, that I take my cell phone, a picture ID, and 250.00 in cash to a Western Union store.  There I was to call her back before entering the store, follow her superior's directions without letting the WU folks know what I was doing.  Who could I call to help stop this scam?

I've desperately applied for loans online and which have done before and I have rapidly received loans the same  way. But this time I was called from a 202 area code number and I was offered 2,000 loan which I accepted. They told me they couldn't deposit the loan in to my bank account because my credit score was low so I had to pick up the money at a money gram but first had to deposit to them 250 in order to receive the loan. They're promising to send me the money but this seems money to me....what should I do!?!

Today is April 1st (April fools day) which I received a phone call from (202) 677-8479 telling me I got a $6,000 for being a good citizen. I want to tell everyone that sometimes is sounds good to be true. I got on the internet to try to find out about this was true. I thank God I have found this web page on several people having the same story good citizen, male with accent, free government money & what is you account number. Please don't give any the information. Because these people don't give up too easily.

Just got the call about 5 minutes ago he knew my previuos addresses and name number eveeeerything about Me and once he asked for my social i said no lol bit this is the number that called me 122233333 its missing A number so idk what to think and btw it was in indian who i think would have asked me Out if he wasnt tryn to get my personal info because all he did was giggle and say i had a nice voice....

same thing happend to me but he phone numbers were 2026574508 and 2022040481 and 2026846540 and they told me i had won a grant for 10,000 for being a good citizen and not filing bankrupt but the werid thing is that they didnt speak english right and i didnt understand them and they told me to go to a bank western uninon and donate 120 in order to get my check but to call them as soon as i get to the bank so the can walk me through the process then i didnt call back and he called like ten minutes after asking me if im at the bank yet and i said no n he said hurry to the bank lol but he also told me not to tell anyone my id they gave me and that i should get my money tomorow evening if i donate ...... can someone plz fill me in on whats going on with these people

I got a call that told me to call  202-470-0032. I tried to get as much info out of them then I went to the FBI report page Time to see how this goes down.

i just recieved that very same call but it was from 623-443-4520. said they wanted to give me a government grant for $7000 for bein a good citizen and payin my taxes and bills on time. It was some asain chick which i could barely understand she wanted my bank card number to put the money into my accountt. Dont buy into it. but watch out for that number as well.

I just received the same call and could barely understand this guy.  But I was told to immediately call 202-407-9217 and give "his manager" my secret code number and he would send me my $7000.  He also warned me not to tell anyone the number.  I am very concerned about the elderly getting this call although it is very doubtful they will understand exactly what the foreign guy is saying.  I had to keep having him repeat things and slow down to get all of the info but knew I would check out the number before I did anything so was glad to see this thread.  I wish I knew who to call but I know the PD isn't going to do anything.  OMG.....while I'm typing this, he called back and asked if I had called his manager yet.  He said this is all legitimate and I should go to the website www.grants.com.  He started arguing with me and I hung up on him!!

The scam artists are targeting folks in our little town of Mabank.  It was reported to the municipal judge and an elederly citizen came in and told a similar story of the mysterious grant. One of our police officers and I both spoke with Mr. Steven Johnson, who said he  has been a registered registered agent for the U.S. Treasury for 7 years.  He was obnoxious.  I would report this scam to federal authorities if I knew where or to whom to go with the info.  For $7000 he should go immediately and wire through Western Union $235 to secure that the $7000 would be instantly sent to his bank, where his son just happens to be the vice-president.

Just went 10 minutes with Justin Cooper (heavy asian accent) tellin me I was to be given a $7,000 grant because I hadn't filed for bankruptcy in the last 6 months and I've always paid my taxes on time.  Really??  Asked "Justin" how he got that information and where and he said he works for he government.  I told him that I also work for the government and yet I don't have access to that information.  I'd also asked for his supervisor's name, his address- which is apparently 200 Independent Ave, NW, DC.  I told him that I was using my son's cell to call a friend who was is a MD State police officer (which is true), at which time he started professing his love for me..????...and when my friend picked up, Mr. Cooper hung up!!!  LOL!!!  I would love to know where/how they got my number.  It was a very entertaining part of my day:-)

Just received a call from an OUT OF AREA phone number and a man who spoke with an asian accent. He asked to speak to me and I told him it was the wrong number; he said he knew it was me/my voice. I have never spoken to this man before. He told me because I had paid my taxes on time and had not filed bankruptcy that I was being given a grant of $6000.00. All I had to do was to take down this ID# and call this phone number and they would tell me how to obtain this money. So, I decided to look up this phone number and this is the web-site it brought me to for info. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!! Do not fall for there LIES!

Yep.. I got one of these calls.. I was told to call 202-407-9217 and give some number to get this money.  Has to be a scam.  I'm not calling.  With the shape our government is in, this is most defenitely a scam.  Some indian guy saying he was Mark Alvin.. I'm sure his name was Gupta.. I feel sorry for the people who are going to believe this crap!!  Let's all hope that they are smarter than this.

With all the debt in Washington doesn't it seem strange that they are GIVING money to GOOD citizens just for paying our bills and taxes on time??? How dumb do they think we are?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO finally she told me i have to call a number back to receive my grant money.... i called that number and he was foreign as well. I asked if i could speak to someone with a little better english and he told me that there were none available... hahaha YOU ARE FRICKIN WORKING FOR THE GOV OF the USA and NOONE there can speak good english? funny... HOW do i report this????????????

Matthew smith from this number clld me offering 6000 dollars grant and also asked for a 235 dollar deposit is this a scam. His address is fed gov grant  from the US Government at 200 Independence Ave AAA SW washington D.C.
