Monday
Caller ID read IMODERATE at 7:21 pm EDT. Did not pick up. No message.

They ALSO use the number 303-928-8762. Different area codes in different states? Smells like a SCAM to me!

Called @ 3:30 P.M. on June 20, 2013; didn't answer, left no message.

ROBO CALLER claim to be League of Conservation Voters. Since they called twice on JUNE 19, 2013 and did not leave a message either time, I consider them SCAMMERS.
EL 2013-06-19 15:44:21 Unknown
Yes I got this 1 as well on 6/19/13 at 9:12 AM CT. Said OF CONSE LEAGUE. I wish these organizations were also on the DNC. We're Unlisted & they STILL butt in. Ugh.

I received a call from "Unknown Caller, 202-454-9999" on June 17, 2013, 9:23 a.m., PT. Area code 202 is Washington, D.C. A recording stated something about how often the "senior population" falls and that a "new program" was in place to "keep seniors safe." Blah, blah, blah, something about a "free medical" something or other, then it cut off with no warning. I called back to tell them to take me off their call list; however, there was no answer, even after it rang at least 20 times. It eventually cut me off automatically. My assumption is that it's a scammer who is, frankly, not very good at scamming. But they're certainly experts when it comes to annoying the hell out of people.

My phone rang at.... Get this people..... 10:15 pm
The answering machine was blinking this morning. Caller ID says "League of Conse ".
A very low quality taped message was left. She was calling from VOTER INSIDER which is a national research firm and wanted my opinion on issues going on in my area. She promised she wasn't selling anything and urged me to go to myideacounts.com and participate in a survey to get a $5 amazon number emailed to me. The website doesn't even exist. I could also call 303-928-8762 to participate.
So, a .com survey company calls my house after hours and encourages me to go to a website that doesn't exist.
BLOCKED! And reported. Ha!
Don 2012-12-20 02:11:20 Unknown
They're liberals pretending to be conservationists. They're a front group for the Democratic Party.
Payback 2012-12-20 02:10:57 Unknown
Exactly
Don 2012-12-20 02:09:45 Unknown
That's part of their trick. They want you to get annoyed, so you'll answer the phone or call them back and asked to be removed from their list. Once they finally get your ear, they try to rope you in. Just ignore them.
Mark 2012-12-20 02:07:02 Unknown
By tying environmentalism to a single political party and a single side of the political spectrum, organizations like this are hurting the cause of environmentalism by narrowing the appeal of the environmental movement. Leftists do not believe in broad coalitions, because they're so intolerant of people with different views on ANY issue.
Telemarketing also alienates potential supporters, and you know that most of the money they raised is really going into the pockets of these telemarketing scum.
Mark 2012-12-20 02:00:21 Unknown
I'm a conservative environmentalist. Not all environmentalists are left-wing. But I will admit that any organization that does telemarketing is crooked, so I'll avoid this one.

This woman left a very suggestive message. Hard to believe it was from the League of Conservation Voters, although that's what came up on the phone ID.

From League of Conservation Voters Website: Notice, there is no opt-out for calls only online communications but since I use a voip phone that can be construed as an online communication - I have sued non-profits before and won, this may actually be a new "hook" to sink this policy. Lets see if these a-holes will amend this policy.
Opting Out

I stayed on the line "as instructed" by the official recording as told to do so and in a few more moments, was transported to the world of the epa town hall meeting.
I listened for about 2 minutes while the participants were maundering on-and-on and I started thinking how nice it would be if I could force people to listen to MY message and make people participate in my own personal town hall meetings.
Where do these people get off believing that they are so important, and their work so critical to the nation that it is necessary to randomly robo-call people and invite them to such BS!
How much of my tax money was spent paying for these calls? If its not the government, then who the hell do these non-profits think they are? Do they really believe that by calling me during the heart of dinner-hour that I will be so riveted by their message and so committed to their cause that I will suddenly drop what I'm doing and join in on some asinine meeting that I had no cognizance of, nor any interest in whatsoever? What the F are these people doing? I'd like to call them during their dinnertime and ask them to join in on whatever problem I was working on during the day. Who the hell thinks that calling a number from a list is going to get them anywhere? What will this accomplish? What was the reason for the call? To enlighten me about the inner-working of the epa? To sway my opinion one way or another about a projected policy change? This makes no sense at all and I will very likely become oppositional to their message in the future.
F the League of Conservation Voters. F your policies! F your mission! F your nuisance calls and F YOU!

They called a few minutes ago. Didn't answer. No message was left.
Our Talking Caller ID shows only the first line of text during incoming calls, in order to preserve space for the number on the handset's wee bitty screen. Ms TalkingCID speaks the whole name aloud, however, because she is a game-day player. The print display read "LEAGUE OF C". What our electronic friend announced (quite clearly) from that was "Call from: League of C**Ts".
Yes, I do mean *that* "C" word. Sorry about that.
We were most perplexed. What sort of list had we been sold to, now? I fiddled with the handset until I revealed the full display name. It read "LEAGUE OF CONSE" (as also noted in posts above).
Perhaps Ms TalkingCID still has some work to do on her enunciation, but LEAGUE OF CONSE needs to work on far more than that. Not calling my house uninvited would be a good jumping off place.
Dear League of C**Ts, please stop calling my f**king home. Respectfully, A pissy gal who votes, and usually with you. GB

Is it illegal for them to yammer on and on in a telephone townhall meeting and never give you any option to press something to get on their do not call list or anyway to talk to someone or leave a message? i listened for about 3 minutes to better understand who was calling me and hoping to hear some option to talk to someone or leave a message. I finally put the phone down, picked it up 5 minutes later, and still the townhall meeting was going on and on. I'd think this is illegal to give one no way to get on a do not call list.

Received call with the EPA bullbleep. When I hung up, and then attempted to make another call )(on the business line that they called) the recording was still going on. This went on for about 5 minutes, during which no combination of hanging up would disconnect their message.
No other phone numbers on their web site would connect ("all circuits are busy").
Maybe they will respond to my incensed e-mail that I sent to them.
I really hope to get a person to talk to so that I can further explain my irritation (also, to use my 140db sonic blaster in their ear).

Called and a long recording played on my answering machine. I hung up so that it didn't fill up the whole thing and I didn't have to listen to it. I don't care HOW GOOD a cause is, I do not want their calls!!!
