these Asian speaking people asked me to put 330 on a moneypak card at CVS and then I was worried about giving them my account number so they said I could get the money at Western Union....definitely sounds too good to be true so I didn't give them any money'....they called me from( 202)657.5500 give me a grant account number gg11081

Got a call, my terrible ears could barely understand the broken Engrish. They asked if I wanted the money direct deposited or cash. Without thinking and having a gut paranoia... I said Cash.
He gave me a "Grant Number" and a phone number to call.
He wanted me to call: 202 657 5500

I called a friend and asked him his thoughts. He said, that sounds like a scam. I said thats what I feel like it is.

I got a call from an Unknown number. The lady from India stated that I am getting $9200 for paying my bills on time and not having a criminal record. When I started to question why the government would give me money considering they are in a deficit of trillions of dollar, she hung up the phone. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO........This is text book SCAM.....If you gave out your bank account info.....Close out that account and open a new one

They called me last night I went through it all except saying I would get cash she said go to a western union and give a $310 deposit but y would they offer cash and need a deposit if they're giving me money...

I received a call from a woman with possibly a Phillipino accent.She said her name was Tina.  She said I had been selected to receive a free government grant of  $9,200.00 on which I would not have to pay taxes.  She said I was selected because I paid my taxes on time and a few other things including  that I had never declared bankruptcy.  She kept asking me if I spoke English and could understand her.  It was difficult to understand her. So I said, "I was born and raised in this country I spoke perfect English it was she who could not speak English" and she hung up.  

That was just rude and mean.

Got this call gave card info but didn't have deposit to give them. I have no money on my card anyways for them to pull anything out. I just hope they don't in the future. I'm so dumb! I really need the money too, that's why I had a little hope.

Of course they are a scam.  US gov advertises refunds etc, and they mail it out on a gov official check, and they don't have foreigners that can not even hardly speak english calling us.  I got the call just today, and he said 10,200.  grant to me.  Why I ask would the Gov give me money for nothing it is crap.  They asked for a bank or debit/cr card.  I told him that I would never do that, and that is evidence of a scam, and I told him legit gov money comes on an offical gov check in the mail.  He said ok we will mail it, and he read my address to me which was concerning.  The he asked if I was married and age, so I am still concerned even though I did not give him any account information, I am worried if they can do anything fraudulent based on knowing my age and address which they somehow already had.  Probably from online Resumes and Facebook ugh I hate the internet some time,  The phone number was a new one  (202) 697-7222

The same ppl call me from the # askin to donate money to a charity event in India...I was really carry away now I leave without money, I'm a single parent of two kids along with no jobs.

I gota call fom "sylvia" stating I was anted 10,200.00 and yes she needed a card number  bank account. I gave her my empty gift card from walmart. If i's a scam then thegot nothing from me. Ha ha ha on them.

They got me for $1700 dollars. Definitely a scam.

These criminals will drain his account unless you contact the bank immediately and change your account and debit card numbers.  Your husband sounds very naïve and should listen to you more ;-).

My husband got a call is approved for $10,200. he gave them his bank account number and debit card number and has a confirmation number. I told him is it was a scam he says I'm full of crap. thank you for their verifying this

This is def a scam i was blessed enough to have someone  sitting right next to me on google looking up the information. they give u a fake number to the federal bank of new york but if u call the real one they have a message that is all about the scam and how they do not deal directly with the government or the payment of grants. i had just withdrawn the $153.00 they asked for when it just didnt feel right. they already had my account information so i asked them other question which they could not answer told them i was no longer interested and immediatley got on the phone with the bank. THIS IS A SCAM!!!! DONT DO IT!!!!

I recieved a call from a Brandon Ward explaining that i was choosen to recieve 9200.00 in free federal grant money all i had to do was western union 149.00 to them and that it would be given to the american red cross foundation i was absolutly excited that money could help not only my family but others as well so i have been talking with him for the last three days  i was going to wire the money via western union on friday... however today i recieved another phone call from Kelly Brown claiming i had another 7000.00 all i had to do was western union them 350.00 i asked her quite a few questions because i was dumb founded how i could recieve 2 gov grants within a matter of 3 days she kept saying the same things over and over again and eventually hung up on me. I decided to call Brandon for the 3rd time today cuz i have been a little sketchy about the whole thing since the first call but when i got the second call i was like theres no way. However when i called his number i got a voice answering machine stating that the person i was calling was not available so i called Kelly i got the same message with the same voice. Upon realizing this i decided to look it up online i am so glad i did cuz im a very poor woman and cant afford this type of money expecially with christmas comeing up. I am very thankful for people who have wrote on about this and for people whos stood up for themselves i will not be sending any money to these people.

we also got a call from the same number from a man named "brandon woods". they wanted a 153 dollar western union sent for a charity. we sent it in then the bank called us and wanted another like 500 dollars for a security deposit. we called western union and they said it was a fraud so we filed a police report. my husband call the number back and had to get a litte snoddy with them, but they clamed that it will be deposited back into our bank accout. dont know if it will tho. this is deff a scam!!!!!!!!!
