Cool thanks for the clearing that up,  i was starting to wonder why the same idiots seemed to call from different numbers.

They are spoofing DC area codes as well as phone numbers.   They are not in the US.   If you are going to report them to PD, go to your own local PD.  Also your own local attorney general.

Won't do much good to go to local police.  These people are scammer/extortionists who are located in Indian and beyond the reach of US law. They are spoofing local numbers.

there police districts for the 202 area code, but I'm not sure if the number relates to the district there number I got a call from is 202 506 9142,  so I'm not sure if this would be in the 506 police district here.  Anyone else digging into this?

now apparently they are calling me claiming to be from the justice department.  Keep in mind these are a group they call from DC (Beltsville area)  apparently, also from Florida number and  Seattle numbers. Keep posting the number and the names. I'm going to see if I compile a list of all the number and names in one place and post them. I've got some time off and looking fly to Beltsville  myself and file a complaint with the police department myself and see if I can get them to do something about this.

i have gotten 5 calls from this number   202-506-8432 wanting my wife to call them at this number  202-506-9142.   funny thing is this camel jocky keeps asking for my wife by her maiden name WHICH she hasent used in almost 25 years!!  just be aware!!

Received different calls since last month with 202 area code. The latest call is from this number- 202-241-1860 from certain IRS officer about an IRS cases against me. I am threatened to be arrested and detained for 72 hrs if I won't ca;; back to this number.  I have no time to entertain such prank calls!  I hope these guys will be busted soon for fooling people!

Rcvd two voicemails within 1.5 hours asking for someone (couldn't understand the name) saying they were calling from the IRS about a deficiency in income tax.  They had a very strong accent and I couldn't understand what they are saying.

I got a call from this guy as well, its amazing I didnt even think to go google first. Considering I pay my taxes every year never had an issues with the  IRS in all my working career this should have sounded fishy to me.

I got call them same 202-506-9142 from Kevin Brown IRS $3200 !!! hard to understand what he said!!!!

Got same calls and messages, googled number found it to be a majic jack number and connection Ymax Oration Beltsville MD.
Talked with this sand worm fot a few minutes and before hanging up on him he was begging for my address to send cops for me.

These b*****ds are calling and threaten to have my wife arrested for back taxes. When I talked to them they said they needed to talk to my attorney as there is a criminal investigation against my wife and she is going to be arrested. When I asked to talk to his supervisor he said no. Total dicks with a special place in hell waiting for them. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS BS!  

Someone calling from the number 202-506-9142  claimed to be a representative of the IRS stating that time was of the essence that I call them immediately. The caller had a heavy accent that was difficult to understand. Within an hour and a half the same caller called again portraying additional urgency and that legal action was about to take place. I returned the call and listened to a voice mail message recorded by a female with the same heavy and difficult to understand accent as the original caller. TOTAL and complete scam....relax. :)

I got 2 messages from a guy name John Alex, with heavy accent, very difficult to understand what he said. He opened a conversation with a word "Hey...Instead of Hello...". He stated that he calls from IRS Internal Revenue Sercive and tell me to call the hotline # 202 506 9142 ASAP.
Does IRS office is working on Saturday? I don't think so. I do my tax return every year and don't have any problems. If so, I should received a letter from the IRS not phone calls on the weekend.

Actually most of these scams originate in India.  It's true that in many cases their accents are so bad, that most people can't understand what they are saying.

First of all, I really appreciate people who left messages on this website.  You are life savers!!!
Got two messages within 1.5 hours today, but the caller ID show different numbers and different name.  First call is from Service Care (344-431-7287) and the other call is from Seattle (206-397-1694). Two messages are both from "Officer Jonesley" and say "This is from IRS, do not disregard this message....call 202-506-9142 as soon as possible to avoid criminal charges....for deficiency of your income tax...."  

I received a phone call from a officer John stated he was calling from the IRS regarding prior year taxes there has been an issue but couldn't give me info but did provide me with a ref#FBA+6 digits & told me to call IRS Attorney Kevin Brown @ 202-506-9142. When I called he stated he was IRS ATTORNEY he had info such as address, ex husband, ex brother-in-law names asked if I filed married or joint. He stated I have received 3 notices & confirmed my current address & dates. stating Tax Fraud & this is the time the sheriff will be there in 30 min to arrest you & you will do 90 days in jail.  

Yes Same A--hole?.sounds like a Nigerian to me, at least as soon as he started talking I thought Oh, yeah?you've got some cousins and a bank account in Switzerland.  Please?.I wasn't here so there were two telephone messages.  But it must work or why would this knucklehead keep doing it.  The only good thing is that most older folks won't be able to understand the do***e bag and therefore will not succumb to the scam.

Men called saying they were from the IRS and needed money.. unfortunately, they were successful in getting money. My parents were so scared, they didn't question the legitimacy. They threatened to have them put in jail, if the amount wasn't paid.
They have rough accents... Please be careful everyone.. Hopefully you'll be more fortunate..

I just got the same call and called the police and filed a report. Did not give any info out.

Some guy named Steve Matthew called and said there was a problem with me involving the IRS. He had a heavy accent and was gard to understand. He said I needed to call ASAP or criminal action will be taken. Then he wished me a good day. What a A-hole

Got a call saying that I'm charged with some source of income tax "criminal charge" and that i need to go to the bank and hand them 3500$ in cash or the popo will come and get me... sounds legit (not).
