Call from 202-506-9442- Indian accent, named Richard Smith with Dept. of Legal Affairs stating I need legal council to represent me and I need to call immediately in regards to a foreign issue. He was receiving another call as he was leaving a message and the phone kept beeping as he was trying to talk. He kept calling me Brenda, and it sounded like he was reading a script , saying "Brenda" like there was a  blank on the form he had to fill in the name of who he was calling..  He said to call him back @ 202-506-5626, then he said no it is 202-506-9626. His number came through the caller ID several times, but he only left one message.

Yep, same here. Just got a call from a heavy middle eastern accent, said he had a "legal" matter to discuss and it would be "wise" to call him back. I didn't pick up the phone, so it was just the message. Did not sound even remotely legit, but had to google just in case.  Glad I did!

SCAM-Claimed to be with the US Department of Treasury, part of IRS. Wanted my husband & said there were legal cases against him & he needed to call them or would go to jail for 6mos. Sounded middle eastern, called himself Alex Belton.

Call from 202-506-9442-Indian sounding voice from Dept. of Legal Affairs. Sounds like he is reading a script. Heavy accent. Says to call back to avoid a legal mess. Says his name is Charley

Got call saying middle eastern voice says his name is John Smith (not likely!).  Said I should call back right away to avoid costly litigation against me.  I did call back right away.  Spoke to a white sounding fellow who sounded sleepy saying he was not with the dept of legal affairs.  I said to I have 202 506-9442 and he said no.  However, my phone showed me the number I dialed was in fact this same 202 number.  Today I called back and got greeting with the same middle eastern voice.  Seems like a scam but no one wants to be sued!

Received a message he said he was from the dept of legal affairs sounded middle eastern or Indian. He said it be wise to call him back gave his name as Alex Greeden
