They have emailed me repeatedly. They sent me an email today saying that it was my last warning before arrest. It was a mass email. I emailed back telling them to send proof of debt or never contact me again. Then they called. It was a middle eastern man named "Ray Carter." I told him to send proof of debt. He said, "I'll send proof of debt by having you arrested at your job." Then he hung up. I called back and asked for his boss. He said he was the boss. I asked again for proof of debt. He repeated he would prove it by having me arrested at my job. I told him to send proof and that if I did owe money, it'd be a civil matter not a criminal matter. And that threatening me with arrest was illegal through the Fair Credit Act. He said he didn't care about my rights and that he was having me arrested at my job and going to make sure I get fired. He at one point yelled for me to shut up when I told him to send proof of debt. Then he said. "Prepare to be arrested. Good luck." and hung up. I have forwarded the email to the FBI and given them a detailed account of our conversations.

This caller had a heavy foreign accent and claims to be with a law firm calling a higher education institution. They have called so many times in the last 3 years and took a break and now they are calling again. They should be blocked , banned and prohibited from calling unanimously if they can provide legitimate information. There is a police report on these people. Dont give them any personal information.

Just got a call from a "Calvin Wright" from US Legal Services.  I missed the call and it went into my voice mail. I could barely understand him.... but what I gathered was that they had a legal document against me and that they also had an arrest warrant against me.  I couldn't understand much of the rest of what he was saying, except at the end of the voice mail message he told me to have a BLESSED day.  How dare he tell me to have a BLESSED day when he is part of a corrupt operation????  So I put the phone number in my computer and several websites came up (including this one) ALL saying this phone number was a SCAM and it seems everyone is saying the same thing - legal papers/case and arrest warrant.  So, I called him back and told him that I had contacted the FBI, the CIA and the local authorities and if he tried to contact me again, the date and time would be in my phone and I would turn it over to the authorities.  All while I was saying this, he kept interrupting me to get me to tell him my name - which I wouldn't give him.  I don't know how much he actually heard me say - so I finally hung up.  2 minutes later he called me back and I answered.  He called me by my name and I did NOT confirm my identity.  He wanted to put me on hold to speak to his supervisor and after I repeated all the places I said I had already reported him to, I just hung up.  I immediately got online to my cell phone provider and had the number blocked!  Peace and quiet!!!!  :-)

A man by the name of "Adam Smith" called me from this number stating that I applied for a loan and gave him the wrong social security number and that I needed to be at my address at 8  a.m. the next morning. He said I would be arrested! I even had a missed call from this number earlier in the day but the voicemail this man left said it was from my local police department number.  When I asked him to provide me with the information he had he hung up on me. I looked up this number and seen that several people had reported this number. They also stated that he was using the name "GREG WASHINGTON" So I called the number back and asked for "GREG WASHINGTON" and he hung up on me! I tried to call back and got an answering service saying that I have reached Legal Loan Investigation Services and their mailbox was full!  (202) 506-9866

A man with a really heavy foreign accent called me on a Tuesday afternoon claiming he was from the loan adjustment office. He stated that I was going to be arrested the following morning because there was an affiat david taken out on me and I would be arrested, Needless to say this freaked me out a little bit so I left home and stayed at a friends. Later that evening I returned home to find that no one had been there to arrest me. So I sat my fatgher down who  I live with and explained tio him what was going on. He suggested that I call the number right away to find out what was going on and if asntging caould be done about it. My father spoke with the same man that left the message with the heavy accent. He yold my father that I had taken a loan out for $300 and I owed for that amount, however there were additional late charged of $736.29 on top of the $300. My father wanted to immediately pay the money but I said no because it sounded like a scam. So the man from the "loan adjustment office" said that the warrant would be issued and I would be arrested that evening. I woke up the next morning to find that I was still in the confounds of my own bedroom. So now I am suppose to be arrested on Monday morning. We will see.

This is a real joke they called me and told me that i need to pay them $387.00 and i need to pay it today. but the funny part about is they could not tell me how much my loan was for and the only thing he would tell me is that the police would pick me up in the morning. So i got about five of my friend to acll them and give them false names and they tried to get all of them to pay money to LOL. So we have been calling them all day playing on their phones and giving them a hard time. No they have blocked out all of or numbers but we have other phone so tomorrow we will pick up where we left off everone shoul try it, Its fun and now they are learning some lesons and the phone calls from us will go on until they change their numbers.

I received a threatening call from the number listed above about funds I had borrowed and not paid back.  He said a warrant would be issued if I did not pay.  He wanted me to pay by Western Union to Benjamin Turner in the city of Dover DE 19901.  The address of the Law Firm according to him was East Way 300 W Northway ST.  Washington DC 38025.  I am from DC and all zip code run like 20059, 20002, 20017.  In short 38025 does not exist in DC.  Also all address streets end with NE, SW, NW, or SE.  From all the information gathered from others and what I have stated above it was a scam.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
