Received call today telling me a civil claim has been filed against me and left a number for me or my lawyer to call.  They left no company name or details.  Sounds like a collection agency using illegal tactics to try to collect.  I don't owe anybody and I'm not falling for it!

I got a call from this number, I returned the caller ID and the phone was answered, "Litigation, please hold."  A woman answered and ask if I had a  claim #.  I asked her name and she stated, "Lisa Buchannan, do you have a claim #?"  I asked her what her company name was and she said, "Washington Square", I said thank you and hung up.  She immediately called my home back and asked, "What is YOUR company name!"  I said this is a residence, and there should not be a problem calling and asking what a company's name is that calls my home.  Then LISA BUCHANNAN said, "Then you should give me your company name W***E!" and then she hung up the phone.  Very Shady Beware!

I just received a call from Janine Smith. I didn't pick up so she left a claim number and said she was calling from Civil Claims Processing (I think that's what she said). She said either myself or my attorney needs to contact her immediately. I looked up the number and it is a landline number in Washington DC. So it's likely a scam.

a friend of mine got a phone call on her answering machine regarding a civk suit they also told them i was desponed they also told me that either me or my lawyer must be in court also they did not say the name of the company and the amount that i owe the also called myfriends and left it on there machine. by the way i did try calling them back the opetr said the number was turned off.i also never got anything in writing either!

I got a call from this number today.  The woman did not speak clearly enogh for me to understand what company she works for. I am not sure but I think that she said that her name is Amber Smith.  When these people call they intentionally mumble this information.  She gave me an affidavit number and stated that if I did not respond that there may be criminal charges filed against me.  I hope that she frequents this site because I just want her to know that I am not dumb.  You cannot file criminal charges against me for a civil matter.  Also the statute of limitations is up on all of my previous debts.  I am sure that I will get some responses from some of the people that work for these agencies that come onto this site saying to pay my bills and calling me a loser or a dead beat and blah blah blah. I do have a job and am not dead beat or a loser.  I am a person who is human who got in over my head while I was in college and unfortunately got behind on my credit cards. People who call from these agencies are not suppose to leave messages that threaten you.  They are not suppose to talk to your family, neighbors, or anyone else about your debt. If they call someone else for you, then they are only suppose to leave there name, the company that they represent, and a call back number.  They are in violation if they do threaten you are claim that they are attorneys when they are not or if they discuss your debt with someone else without your permission.  I have kept the recorded message on my answering machine & will use it to file a report against this company.

I received a call the other day saying the same thing. Lisa Buchanan was her name & she said that she had a civil lawsuit pending against me from Citibank. I asked her for the account # & she couldn't tell me if it was the first 4 or the last 4. She said I would have to pay 747.00 by the end of the day....or else 3k by the next day in court fees. I got her # & called her back. NO ANSWER...just voice mail...surprise surprise. I left a message saying that I would pay it & to call me back. She never called back. I was going to get all her inforamtion and turn her into the police.

I still have not received anything by mail nor another phone call!

I got a call similar yesterday telling me to call back the same number.  I would think that if someone has a court order against me they would notify me by mail and not over the phone from a different state.  I think it's a scam.

Called & stated they would not give out any info & I could ask all the questions I wanted to they would not say who they were.  They would get me with court orer.  What's up???
