I'm from Canada and am getting calls from these people and more. Every time you look them up they are from Washington.

Got a call today.  I didn't answer. No message was left.  Caller ID said Washington DC call.

This number called me three times within 3 minutes. How can I stop this harassment.

Funny you should mention 7 years, which is, in most jurisdictions, one of several limitations stated in the appropriate statutes.

This company, since I see that it collects for a certain credit card company, which has a couple of Federal Consent Decrees, does not care about Statutes of Limitations.

They will attempt to collect a debt which is decades old, which debt was not legitimate in the first place, consisting of illegal fees, for sub prime credit instruments, which debts are both difficult to justify and nearly impossible to discharge, whether through payment or even BK!

They will not even do so tiny a thing as identify themselves on the caller id, or when asked, especially as to whether they are or are not a Debt Collector, and therefore subject to the FDCPA, [they Are.]

Mass calling of this number by affected parties seems appropriate, and let's have a few suits on the FDCPA, FOR $1000.00 +ACTUAL+LEGAL FEES, and I will bet you that this Washington D.C. Lobbying Firm will change their tactics and fade into the mahogany woodwork.

They called me on the 4of JULY they ask for me by a name (last name) that I haven't use for anything in over 7 years. Not sure of the company name they say it to fast. But it must be a debit collector BUT I FILED BK SO KILL YOURSELF

Called nobody on the other end, hangup after a few moments.

I called it back the guy said his name was josh I Hung up

They have called me at 8:00am for the last 4 days. No message, nobody there when I answer. How do I make them stop?

2-26-10 all circuits are busy when I called back. They leave no message. 3-1-10 they called again and they asked for me I said I wasn't home they said Nastily " stop playing games" and they hung up.  I tried calling back to see what or whom they are.  all circuits are busy.  The computer says.

This number called and also did not leave message. Search of number produced the name it is registered to: LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS

Second time I got a call from this no. They left no msg.

i get a lot of calls from this number.  at least 1 a day...  i've never answered, assuming it was some sort of bill collector.  after what geri said, i think i will answer next time.  how strange.

A computer generated caller asked for  Robert Anderson . It said , If I am not Robert Anderson , hang up immediately . Which I did .

this is a robo call to check if your phone number is answered. if it is picked up a note is made by their sytem that your number is active and was picked up on a certain day an time. whoever runs it now knows when to call using a different number and will most certainly get a live person. the way to defeat these calls is not to answer if you have caller id and do not recognize the number. if they get your voice mail thet will not leave a message. after a while the robo caller system will stop calling  for "there is no sucker" on the other end picking up the phone. Ofcourse if you donot have caller id this strategy will not work, but since you are  in this website you do know the calling number, so you must have caller id.

They have no reason to be calling me either but they also have (213) 785-3272, (701) 540-5468, (701) 217-1006.  I can't block them on my cell, but I use YouMail and it tells them the number has been disconnected when they call.  :)

I answered the call... they said hello Kristin( my first name) I said  Yes?  then they hung up...  Guess it wasn't important  :-)
