Got the same call, gave me call back # 202-559-0678 about getting grant for 10000 incheck, they had my phone number and address and name. asked me to listen, because his job is to call and then it is up to me. When he started to ask additional questions, i didn't want to waste my time and confronted him that this is not real deal and so on, he tried to convince and then in the end said "Thank you for your time, I will remove your number from database, moth******er" slam! ..... how is that for angry scammer?

Just got this exact same call, from a Mark Grover who said he was from unemployment benefits scheme LOL
He gave me the website www.unemploymentgrant.org. and told me to call the 2025590678 number to recieve my grant. I asked why I was recieving it, he said the government did a survey 6 months ago and randomly selected 1000 citizens to recieve the grant. his accent was the first thing to have me skeptical!
I gave no information but IM not very happy with the fact that he has my name number and address!

I also got the call on 12-14-2012 and do believe that this man should be punished to the full extent of the law. It was the $10,000 grant also and he had my personnel information already which really disturbs me and makes me wonder if it came from a couple years ago when computer with my personnel info was stolen from social services. I received a litter saying my idenity was in the stolen computer. S.S never did or notified me of any thing to correct this error to many people.

Received a call from a person who I don't know what nationality they were but they Sounded Indian said I gialified for $10,000 grant but had to send $160.00 through western union before I got the money. I think that if its grant money u shouldn't have to pay anything. These people should be punished.

Call your account issuer *ASAP*, tell them what happened and have them kill the account. You must kill the account, scammers have it and can charge again and again.

Recieved a call from a lady with heavy accent. Said she was calling from the government. Told me I was selected to recieve $7000.00, and offered it to me in cash, credit, or debit card.  Wanted me to call this number and speak with his supervisor to recieve the money. The minute I hung up I checked here to see if it was a Scam. This many reports before mine.  Yeah..... I don't plan on talking to the supervisor.  To good to be real.wanted my banking or card info...I told her I would just take a check she said can't do that can do cash and as I am typing this out she calls again and I just hung up.

Yeah, These people urks my nerves heavy accent they need to get a real job and stop scamming real people. I got a phone call as well saying I won a grant of 7000 come on this is a scam. If the goverment gives you anything you don't have to pay for it that's for sure. I wish the BBB could get involved and shut these fake people down for good. I'm an honest working american trying to make a living for my family. Sounds to good to be true...

I had received several calls regarding government grants and would either lose the call or I would just hang up because I was leary.  However I did actually apply for a government grant at one time for college tutition and they mentioned that they knew I had applied for the grant.  When I started receiving the calls, as I mentioned, I would get them here and there because I was suspicious.  I as well gave them a Pre-paid Rush Card because I had not even activated it yet.  It was not attached to any of my accounts, so I know that I am okay "hopefully" .  I also have identity theft protection, so hopefully I will be okay.. pretty scary though.

The call i got was from a restricted number. They wanted bank info. I told them i would give them the number to an empty pre-paid debit card. They said it could be sent Western Union. Didnt ask for any personal info but address and age. Gave me the 202-559-0678 number as a number for a personal accountant. Man was also heavily accented. Reeks of scam. Duh.

Same as these other people are saying.... Heavily accented woman, asking for an account number. Claimed to be from the U.S. Government grant services... She was extremely patient.... But yeah i'd say it's definitely a scam.

Same as some of the other reports.  Heavy accented person telling me the government was going to give me $7000 to spend on anything except alcohol and gambling.  Asking for us by last name only, didn't even have a our first name, but we were selected by OUR government to get this.
