got my call on saturday? indian accent with an american name.....jason white id#357 told me i would receive 6,000 through western union and it wouldn't cost me a penny but i had to deposit 200 in some account to prove it was me that was receiving the money....but i would get it right back and i could not say anything to the western union representative because they would take 35% of the money for some kind of fee.....these people suck because i could really use 6,000 dollars. the first thing i did after getting off the phone with him was goggle the phone number he gave me and the first thing to pop up was SCAM.... thank god for whoever invented goggle and a way to post phone scams

After about 20 minute I could ot hold my laughter in. He told me to F-off and hund up. These people are the lowest scum of the earth. Get a real job and stop being such a douch bag!!

Dont believe this, it's a scam and I was told they were going to send me 6,000 through the Western Union AFTER I PAY THEM 200.00$ They sound good and honest but really a Gov. Grant over the phone and you got to pay a process fee??? The Man who called was "Calvin Jones" even gave me a Employee ID #257 out of Washington DC.
Beware of this call!

I left a fraud email on the fafsa website and on the Attorney General website. When I told the guy that if it wasn't a scam the money would have been sent to my school, then he hung up..
| t 2011-06-06 20:41:38 Unknown |
So I got a call from this number and he offered the 6,000 like everyone else stated and asked me what I wanted to do. I told him that I don't believe its not a scam, and that if it was real they would send the money disbursement to my school.. He hung up. I am calling the federal gov monday and the police today!

CALL SAY WORK FOR GOVERNMENT GIVING OUT GRANT FOR 6,000 WANT YOU TO GO TO WESTERNUNION TO SEND $210 AND RETURN THEY WIII SEND YOU $6,210. BACK
| lnistor 2011-06-06 20:41:38 Unknown |
This is a phone scam via western union. caller claims to be from US Govt Grants Dept and says you have been selected to revceive $6000 grant for paying your taxes on time. he says i need to deposit $200 first as a processing fee, which i will get back within 5 minutes after i made the deposit, my a**!!
I have not payed my taxes, and I applied for grants before, and I KNOW this is nothing but a scam. First, that is not the name of the dept that issues grants. second,
"""ATTENTION! Grants.gov does not offer money for personal financial assistance or debt. If you are seeking personal financial assistance such as:..."""
is the first message you see when you go to grants.gov.
"""Fraud Alert: If you have received a phone call from someone seeking your bank account or other personal information in order to process a government grant that you did not apply for, you can Submit A Complaint [EXIT Disclaimer] with the Federal Trade Commission."""
third message on grants.gov
Third, Jason White, the person that called me, had the worst classic Indian/British accent ever. Fourth, US Gov ID numbers are not 3 digits, his was "357" He says he had this number for 15 years, the grant dept was only established in 1999, not 15 years ago. Fifth, he even gave me the wrong address for the grant dept. Sixth, he told me to call him from the western union parking lot and he will guide me through the process, and told me not to say anything about what i'm doing to the western union representative. Long story short, this is a classic scam. Please dont fall for it and do the rest of the world a favor and spread this message around so hopefully no one else falls for it. Also, dig up in your vocabulary of curse words and find the worst curses to use on them. I told him some things i can't post here.
Best of luck if you are reading this

True, I figured that it was a scam, US government agency calling me on a Saturday, so i even sounded happy about the money ($6,000), had the guy on the phone for almost 30 minutes, best part, when he gave me a number to call, I had him wait about 10 minutes while i looked for pen and paper... then had him repeat the number like 20 times, I kept telling him I was nervous and wanted to make sure I wrote down the correct number, then he proceed to give me a “customer number” at this point I told him that I was no longer interested as I could not longer hold it and started laughing... he said 'F_ck You! MF... yeah right, government agency....too funny.
