Received a call from this number, they left a msg on my answering machine : (paraphrased) "xx calling from IRS investigations etc, need to call back at this number or suffer consequences with officers at your door step and possible deportation" ..they used my full name on the first msg. 1/2 hr later they left another msg. similar wording but in my wife's name. She kinda freaked out, i told her its a scam and i'll check it out. Next morning they called again right before i was heading out. I picked up the phone, and before he could say 'IRS' i told him what he was doing was possibly illegal and he needs to send whatever he wants to say in writing to my home address, and 'place this number on the do not call list', i could hear the 'bossiness' in his voice sortta melt away with a feeble 'yes' reply. I promptly hanged up. Hopefully they wont call again. Usually i dismiss this kinda scams but what pissed me off was that they may be calling 'foreign' sounding names and threatening them with deportation right around tax season.

I almost fall he is game. Now every day I called them to irritate them to day I called them 24 time when they answer I don't say a word tomorrow all day long at the work I'm gonna call them to irritate them all day I'm hoping every day that police find them

I got 4 or 5 calls on my home number and they left 2 messages then I picked up the phone and the same story as above , I checked with reverse Id and the number seems to be from Washington DC. I googled and thanks god I saw all these posts. Scam by all means

I got same call from 202-600-4312 ms. Green telling me that i have serious problem with the IRS. I owe taxes and asking me to call back right away to speak to Mark Brown her superviosor/ investigating officer. I did not beieve her accent. She sounded from an indian village.
She then tells me something to do with identity theft..
Then about a warrant in my name...
I asked where is the office: she said Rocester NY with a wrong pronounciation as if she never been to Rochester NY.

All in all... Its not a well thought scam. Makes you doubt it from the first minute.

said they were Kevin Cyrus from the IRS and something an IRS debt.  Said to call this same number back and ask for Mark Brown.  I hung up and he called right back.  He asked "DID YOU HANG UP ON ME?!!"  I said yes and he said officers would be at my door in a few minutes if I don't call back and ask for Mark Brown.  I hung up again.  SCAM !!!!!

This guy called me on 2026004312 number and he told me I owe money to irs if I don't pay it for it today police gonna come get me that's what he say I say send me a bill information what you talking about I get back to you he say I don't have time for that and we hang up the phone after u recive call from 911 I was really in he's game I told him that I was gonna pay him what he wants he olmost got my money, PLEASE ANY ONE FIND THIS PERSON BEFORE ANY ONE ELSE GET HURT

This is a HUGE scam. I saw it on CNN this morning.  The IRS  will contact by mail FIRST. Don't believe a phone call you receive out of the blue from someone claiming to be the IRS.

This Indian guy called me to day that told me he is calling from irs. I have message for you if you read this I'll find you one day in the world or in the hell I'll see you than. Mo fu

They called me twice today and left messages on my machine. That just made me laugh, especially when they said they were going to send me back to my country of origin. They had my name (and pronounced it very badly) so i'm wondering where they got that. I'm on Vonage and i'm wondering if anyone else here is as well.

In first call I said they needed to send me whatever information in writing.  Period.  IRS doesn't do stuff like this by phone.  Soooo annoying!

Gotten harassed by them several times today.  Takes a threatening tone on the phone with me demanding that I listen.  During the first call it was some jazz about legal action being taken against due to identity theft and IRS monies owed.  Never a problem total fraud.

funny thing is we already filed our returns nice and neat via our cpa, got our refund just 2 days
ago. So.... i know this isnt the IRS, the IRS does not operate like this but scam call centers offshore might

I called tmobile to block that number . i guess everybody should do the same not to receive these fake irs calls. By the way they collect data from you , i told him this is my business number, he wanted me to call from my cell number . I don't think IRS has a call center in india :D .

Just report the number to your service provider .

I received a call at my home number this morning. A man w/strong Indian accent told me he is calling from IRS. He told his name and talking about an investigation... I immediately knew that it was a scam. I didn't even pay attention to his name. I told him IRS doesn't give calls like this and hanged up. IRS has a different number posted. So I searched this number online and I saw all these postings. I called this number back. It sounded like a call center. Interestingly enough the same person answered. I was telling him "don't ever call my number again I will report your scam". He hanged up before I finished my sentence. I hope some elderly people won't fall into this scam. That's why I decided to write here.

They call from a VOIP number and pretty sure manipulate the caller ID, so reporting the actual number that shows up may be irrelevant

Called and home and cell phone numbers. Strong Indian accent. Dumbass. Pretended to be from the IRS on my home phone and from the police on my cell. Claimed that I needed to give them money in the form of a demand draft (which is what a cashiers check is called in India). Stupid and moronic.

This number called me 3 times today pretending to be from the IRS and giving names like "Justin Green" etc., noting that they are from Washington DC and Rochester, NY, saying that there was an arrest warrant for my name and serious legal issues.
