It's the prison systems!!!!
It's not collection calls or some guy named Aaron life and only way to make it stop is to call the prison and ask to have your number internally blocked from their prison

I know for a fact that these are calls from someone in an Illinois Corrections Center; the company is CPS (Consolidated Public Services). I have a friend in IDOC & this is the number that shows up when he calls.
Here's the info listed about the company, including how to block calls & a link to the site to setup a prepaid account:
Consolidated Public Services (1-800-235-4416) is the service provider for inmate telephone services. If you have questions regarding receiving collect calls from inmates, you can call Consolidated for information. If you wish to receive collect calls from offenders on a cell phone, you will need to call Consolidated to setup a prepaid account prior to accepting calls. If you have a land line phone and your local service provider does not allow billing from outsider parties, you may also be required to setup a prepaid account. For collect or prepaid collect information, please call Consolidated at 1-800-235-4416.
Blocking inmate calls
All collect calls coming from an IDOC inmate are announced where you have the ability to accept, block or receive a rate quote. You can also contact Consolidated Public Services (1-800-235-4416) to block inmate calls.

This is not a # inmates use to make collect calls....it is a phone company you would use to set up an account so that an inmate can call you on prepaid calls that way you can regulate the amount of $ used on inmate calls. If u call 1-800-235-4416 it will ask if u want to set up an account if that is what you would like to do then you will talk to a customer service agent and give all your info to them and then you load $ onto your account with a debit or credit card and within 2-4 hours the inmate will be able to call you without calling collect. This service actually services many correctional institutions in Illinois so the calls could be coming from numerous different places....my husband is in Statesville and this is the service they use.

This phone number is the number that will appear on your caller ID if someone is calling from an Illinois correctional facility. It is not unique to any one institution.

Add money by using your ATM/Debit card with a Visa or Star Logo. It charges 3.00 to put the cash on for example if you want to add 50.00 they will collect 53.00 from your card.

I have received 5 calls from this number this past week. It is a collect call from an inmate at Stateville Prison in Joliet, IL. It is either a prank (which I doubt) or aprisoner who knows how to "manipulate the system" to his advantage (thus to your disadvantage).
Nate 2011-06-06 20:43:45 Unknown

brige 2011-06-06 20:43:45 Unknown
Its Consolidated Debt Collection service... Debt Collectors will do anything to get your number. They can even look @ ur credit and get your home phone number because it will be listed on your credit. When you get a house phone in your name, the phone number becomes part of your account number and they can figure it out...
They drive me nuts!!!
brige 2011-06-06 20:43:45 Unknown
Let me also clarify that debt collection agencies now use local dialers which means they are calling from a toll-free number but it will show up to you as a local area code.
