These c**** have called me incessantly for over a month.  When I said I was going to kill everyone in the building, they offered me a b*** j** for $19.95.  The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) is nothing but a group of useless f**** annoying the hell out of everyone they call.

Who is this, they call everyday.  STOP CALLING

We are receiving 3-4 calls each week and at least 3 times each day including Sat. & Sunday.  They let it ring about 3 times and hand up or if I answer, they do not say anything and hang up.  They leave no message.  Fed up with these annoying calls.

It's from the American Cancer Research Institute.  I called the number back and they have a nice message that says a bit about what they are trying to accomplish and, also, a way to remove your number from the list.  They said it has to be removed within 30 days, but, they try to remove it within 2-3 days.  You do have to select "1" (tell me more about it) to get to that point though.  It's their fundraising arm calling.

Called my cell phone.  Wound not say anything.  I am on a do not call list.  How do we stop this kind of call.

I tried calling them back and following the automated instructions to have my number removed from their database,however, the computer never gets the number correct when entering it. Guess I will have to answer the phone and tell them to stop calling me 3 times a day, every day.

Get calls w/no message and even on Sunday at 4:30.   This is a scam...

Received call on 8/31 from 202-607-2763.  Phone rang twice then hangup.  Caller id shows AICR.  Stop calling me!

Don't call them back. First of all, for most of us, this is a toll call. Secondly, calling them back is just what they want you to do. They want to get your ear so that they have the opportunity to sleaze talk you into making a donation.

That's why telemarketers keep calling and never leave a message. They want to rope you in without giving you the time to think it out carefully. It's a variant of the "this deal won't last" trick.

I have received 3 calls from this number. However I refused to answer when I see it on my caller ID.  I do wish these type of calls could be stopped immediately.  Too busy for it.  Annoying to say the least.
The number from which the call came from is: 202-607-2763 and gives a company name of AICR.

when you google AICR you see that it is American Institute for Cancer Research

, 202-607-2763 is from cancer research based in Washington, just call back that number, listen to the entire recorded message.follow directions,  to eliminate any future calling.  It takes about 30 days to be off thier calling list. Just call back the number that called you from AICR.  Calls are from volunteer college students.

If you have Comcast, call them and they'll tell you how to block these pain-in-the-a** calls. I've got 4 numbers blocked now and I've only been doing this for a few days: Disabled Veterans Service; American Cancer Society; Washington DC [?]; and this number AICR.

I suspect other phone carriers will offer you a similar procedure.

Just got a call and called them back.  It is the American Institute for Cancer Research.  Follow the entire recorded message. Follow directions to eliminate any future calling. It could take up to 30 days to be off their calling list. Just call back the number that called you from AICR.  Calls are from volunteer college students. Got calls from the American Diabetis Association and followed the recorded message with that one also.  Hasn't called back.

Did the email requesting a stop work?  Have you had a call since July 2010 (the date of your posting)?  I have just done the same and am hoping this will work.  Thanks for the tip.

They had been calling daily for weeks.  I finally broke down & answered. They said they were a cancer research.  I told them I had donated to my local chapter.  They got very persistent.  That's when I told them to get my name off their list "NOW".  It is now 11/18/10.  Have not gotten a call since 10/31/10.  Hope it stays thay way.

These idiots call every night and afternoon, never leave a message.  202 is a Washington D.C. number.  Wish I knew which cowardess political party cant leave a message

I get these calls EVERY day...first it would say AICR and now it says Shanetta Harve.  The worst thing is that the calls come in when I am sleeping...once in the morning and again in the evening.  Even with Call Block, it still rings at least once and wakes me up.  It's bad enough already with all the political calls every day now.  At least those will stop (I HOPE) after Election Day.  But this one from AICR I do not know how to stop from occuring.

AICR is a total piece of crap NFP org. They suck.
You cannot stop them from calling since they are a non-profit.
I use a Panasonic phone system and can block callers.
I blocked the initial caller - worked for a while
They changed the number - I blocked that number as well.
They changed the caller ID to "Shanetta Harve" 1-202-607-2809 and I blocked that number as well.
Now I'm getting calls from "Coeur D Alen" 1-208-758-0218 which appears to be no more than a robot caller to see if anyone picks up the phone. (e.g. when are you at home - and do you pick up...)
I'm 99% sure that this last caller is related.
AICR sucks! They can kiss my a$$ - I am not giving them a penny and I encourage you all to stay far away from them.
There are many good charities working (efficiently) in the fight against cancer - AICR is not one of em.

How can one stop calls from this AICR number?
