I have just received the same phone call from a foreign accent man going by the name Cameron Sexton.  I told him to send the check to me in a paper format because I was not giving him my information or paying for 'free' government money.

I received a phone call from this number telling me that I was approved for a $7000 grant that I would not have to pay back. It was a woman with a middle eastern accent, claiming to be from the Government Grant Department. She had my address information. She asked me my age, work status and marital status and told me that I was selected because I paid my taxes and had no criminal background. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and took down the name, and number for the follow up call. She gave me a code to give to a man named Kenny Lawson.

When I spoke to the alleged Kenny, (which I found fishy, since he had a strong middle eastern accent as well and such an English/American name) he verified the information the previous caller already had, using the code I gave him. He asked me if I wanted the money in cash, prepaid credit (mastercard or visa options), or direct deposit. Clearly the direct deposit was not an option, since it involved giving my account number to someone I never met. So when I asked for it on a prepaid card, the man asked for my card number. I told him that I didn't know I had to have a prepaid card already. He told me I didn't. I replied with a question regarding why he needed my card number, if I didn't need to have a prepaid card already. He mumbled something in another language and hung up on me.

I received a call earlier this year from a woman claiming something to the same effect. I told her I was having a difficult time understanding her with her accent and asked her to speak slower. She hung up on me.

I also got this phone call today.  Exactly the same story as everyone else on this page...

My co worker revd a call from this number and was really excited about it.  I told him it was a scam.....it wasnt real and someone trying to scam him.  TOOOO good to be true.  I called the number and an indian guy with an accent answered, I asked him what his business name was and he said I should be asking those questions and cussed me out...LOL...I asked him if his business was real and I wanted to check and he hung up on me.  Be careful and double check before sending any money,  When grants are revd, no one is EVER required to put a deposit down to get a grant.  SCAM...

I got a call from these people.  They told me that I could get $7,000 grant because I had no convictions and always paid my taxes.  They told me they were from Washington D.C.  To recieve this grant all I had to do was to go to a Western Union and send a bank processing fee of $190 to them to receive my grant.  When I told them that I already have grants for school and that I did not have to pay anything for these grants and that I believed that their call was a scam.  They replied F.U.F.U.F.U. constantly over the phone.  I hung up.  These individuals are scamming the citizens and are very rude when you call them on that.  The guy's name that I spoke with was Sean Swagger.

This place is robbing people of there money by telling you they have $7,000 to give you tax free and they really just ask you to place down a $190.00 security deposit then they screw you by only taking the deposit then hanging up.

I received a call from this grant business yesterday and was told to call this 202 number area code back.  They gave me a code to give to a Shawn, and only asked my age.  It sounded fishy to me and I don't expect to receive a call back, but wanted to let everybody know about it.

Caller said I receive a $7000 grant but I needed to call back to give them my information. They stated because "you do not have a criminal background" you are eligible.    Not calling back - obvious scam.

they said I will receive $7,000 dollar of gov grant money . All I have to do is go to a western union location and put a $190.00 deposit down.
