Just an update on this so called scam...they have a new number which is 202-436-9677 and I spoke with this Mark Robertson person. He asked me to send $280 through western union to benefit some charity and then he will release my funds, but my gut feeling is telling me this is some type of scam...so please don't listen to these liars. There is no reason why they cannot just take it out of the so called $7,000 they are going to be giving you.

And it's still going!  I got several calls from an "unknown" caller ID and finally answered one.  Got some dude with an Indian accent wnting to send me free money and all I needed to do was call Mark Robinson, his Financial Department manager.  When I asked for a website, he gave me www.Grants.gov which is a legitimate site but does NOT freely hand out money to individuals as they were offering me.  He asked how soon I'd be calling Mr Robinson.  I told him as soon as I checked them out because if sounded really fishy and I hung up.

Although all ones (1111111111) show up on my phone's CPID screen, the caller says they are from the US Government Grants department (uh huh).  After he said I was eligible for a $7,000 grant, he then verified info on me that he already had .. without my having to give him anything else.  He then gave me this number (202-621-0214) and some "grants approval #" and instructed me to call and to ask for a Mark Robertson and he will arrange for my 'grant'.   When calling this number however it just rings off the wall and eventually goes to busy.   I assume that this exercise is some sort of spam data validation technique.

They said the same exact thing to me. I suspected something was wrong right from the beginning but continued to listen to what they had to say. While on the phone with "Mark Robertson" I was luck enough to run across your post and it verified my suspicions. "Mark Robertson" was asking me to verify all my information as well as a near by western union office. At this point I stopped him and asked why he would ever consider trying to hurt people at all (with his scam), let alone during the holiday season. He then became silent and eventually hung up on me. Some people are just unreal Do not give these people the time of day!

their new #  is  970-123-6459, call Mark Robinson to get $7gs. Yeah right!

Called my neighbor saying she was being given $7000 and they needed her debit card number and for her to call 202-621-0214 and speak with Mark Robinson.  Once getting this mark guy on the phone he proceeds to tell her that he needs her to send $99 in order to get the $7000.  So we asked, why can't you deduct it from the $7000.  The man proceeded to get angry and hang up
