I got a call from them to asking for a $99 donation and that I would receive a government grant of $7,000.  I asked for paper work on it and they said they didn't have any and completly avading answering why.  When I didn't want to pay the $99.00 he asked if I thought it was a scam and then tried to convince me it wasn't.   At first he said they were out of Houston then he gave an address that when I googled it came up as the U.S Dept. of Health and Human Services.  They really need to alert people to this and do something!  They are masquerading as a government service.

I don't know why govt does not look on all these postings and take action right away to scammer?
The actual website I got it is here:
http://usgrant.co/order/  Please note it is not usgrant.com but just .co and what they have done is
what exactly scammers do.   The main domain which is www.usgrant.co  does not even exist.
but they registered the domain and created hidden page (other pages without the main.html) and trying to steal the personal info through this page and then start rubbing innocent people.

My son and I were applying for a government loan for his school.  The moment we got a confirmation, my son was called on his cell phone saying the same thing he said to all the above.  I called him back and he hung up on me.  I feel they are hacking into the government loan web site. Any one else know anything?

Just got exactly the same call as all of these people. My "grant approval number" was DA156 and he told me the US Treasury Department was giving these grants to loyal citizens. He told me in order to receive my $7,000, I needed to go to the Western Union and send $99 for a processing fee. Ha....yeah right. The scary part about this whole thing is that he knew my name, address, and cell phone number.

I got that call too.  The fcc should take action as this was done by phone. They need to put out an alert.
There is a law that protects elderly from scams.

I had got a call from an unavailable number and was asked to call on 202-621-0282.. The person called himself Raymond and asked me to contact Lee on that number.. He said that was his department number and I could talk to his accounting manager Lee. When I told him, I was not sure it were a genuine call, he got offended.. He tried convincing me that they were genuine and that was why he had given me the department number. When I asked for a website, he directed me to www.usgrants.com which is definitely not a government website.. Beware!

Said he was from the government grant office and if My mother would send $99.00 she would recieve a $7000.00 grant. said she would have to send it to the Charity Foundation. I did a search on the number and it said not found. Called the FBI and they said it was a scam. The man said his name was Richard Lee. I called him back and asked a lot of questions like more contact info, phone numbers and where the money went to, what charity and what their number was. This guy called My mother 3 times. After I asked him what the number to the charity Foundation was He said 202......... and hung up. I asked Him if the 99 bucks was going to fund terror groups or iran insurgents into Afghan. Or was the money going directly to Alqaeda or the Taliban. The FBI wouldn't even take the number down or the guys Name so calling them is a waste of time
