The number that shows on tour caller id is disconnected. It is a dummy number. This is DC's office of Pre-Trial and Probation. I have family that works there.

Same here got a call from this number... The voicemail that was left said nothing. Called it back yesterday and it didn't pick up. Called it again to and it said it was disconnected

Yeah, its that pesky parole officer.  She called this morning at 10

Only a paltry three more years to go and I will no longer have to hear her silly questions, dopey accusations or feeble attempts to glean further information from me.

When she calls, I usually act extremely stupid.  "huh? yeah dats right.."  I put lots of "you knows" and "I'm cool with that" into the conversation.  I always agree with any of her suggestions and often compliment her on the wonderful job she is doing at keeping me on the straight and narrow.  When she comes around, we have bibles, and religious study books scattered around, we ask her to pray with us... then get right back to business twenty minutes later. Its great fun!

yes its a probation or parole officer. and its the number that shows up for the entire office you have to know your po's direct number to call back.

Got a call and when I returned it...listed as disconnected.

That is correct. It is the DC Office of Parole and Probation. It is an outgoing number only meaning officers can use it to call you but you can't use it to call them.

this number is a fed govt agency in charge of parole and probation in dc...u may have been called because some one on parole or probation listed you as a contact person

I got a call from this number and it was a DC government agency conducting reference checks.

Missed a call from 202-628-5346.  Checked anywho.com that showed no listing for number and then checked google and saw other reports about this number.  I think from the other reports: this means that somebody is checking craigslist for phone numbers from the past and calling all those people to solicit their business.  In that regard, I have also received an email from someone saying he found me on craigslist and did I want to earn $300 to $500/month working for his company.  Message contained some links but they were not identified and I did not click on them; and I think I deleted the message.

I got the same call with the same disconnected number. I am going to report them as well. They call like 3 time in a row and when I call back it is disconected

This just happened to me in relation to an apartment listing on Craig's list. I'm going to report the # right now. The caller used the name Glenn Rivers.

I received a call at my job and my cell phone [both within seconds of one another] and when I tried to return the call, received the same "disconnected" message.  If I see this number again, I am going to answer just to find out who they are and report them!

Got a phone call from this number a few minutes ago.  I missed the call and when I returned the call, I got a voice message stating this was a disconnected telephone number.  I don't know how they are capable of using a disconnected phone number, but anyone going to these lengths is certainly not someone you should be dealing with.  I recommend you leave these folks alone.
