I been a victim of scam the (202) has called me saying they wanna give me a grant . I needed to give them money thrpugh green dot card. People dont buy this cards. Its a scam you will not get your money back this people work in groups and they used many of the above area code numbers to call you and get money out of you. Theres nothing free in this world be careful.

Its true this scams are going around dont put your info on the web requesting loan info or grant money simply do it thru a secure sight and dont give out no money they will try to get you to buy a green dot card and get you to give them money. You dont get nothing in return. This scams happen to people that are in need for cash but instead they take cash out of you. Dont but dont answer area code (202) starting numbers they are inpersonalizing the government but there not.

the new scam is to have you call as you have been offered a grant,
9,200.00 and it is necessary you call the number and give the approval code,

The caller stated this is a Grant Approval Monies from the US Gov that President Obama authorized for 14,000 Americans to receive $9000 in grant monies, only English speaking Americans, not to be paid back.  Conditions are that I put these monies towards paying bills, keeping my mortgage updated....etc.  The caller's incoming number was: 715-497-1017.  Gave me a Grant Approval Number GG---- and the call back number I am to dial is this number 202-657-4853.   No I did not return this call.

It's the famous "area code 202" gambit. Please educate everyone you can about these scammers, spammers, and phishers. Do tell them about 800notes.com. Everyone should read the reports in the forums and news there!

this is the same weak indian scammers as their (202)-684-6372 number.

they use a bot to place calls that might make it look legit, though being complete idiots themselves don't realize the average citizen hardly ever gets direct calls from the capital, at least not the capital of the whole nation. Now for me living in oregon, if it was from salem maybe it'd be more legit looking.

watch out for other DC numbers that call you too, knowing these criminal rejects they don't realize they need to compartmentalize the numbers connected with their weak scams (nice to see they aren't just doing the PC clean dot com computer hijack scam)

they keep calling me too!!!  they asked for my husband and i said he wasn't home do you want to leave a message.  no no message-so I knew by the indian accent (getting calls previously) that it was my scam man.  I said well I am going to leave you a message.  I know who you are and you need to stop calling.  i know you are a scammer and I am telling you now that this phone number is being traced and I will get you and i will sue you.  I have homeland security, city police, sherriff, and the fbi in on this-keep talking, this call is being traced.  I want you to stop callin my house, cell phones and get off the internet.  You people need to get a job and stop stealing from people and freakin speak english when you call.  I hung up.  total scammers.

They kept calling, so i answered and said it was the wrong number. and they had the nerve to tell me i was a liar and that he knew it was me!!!!! WTF

If you can find a domestic headquarters street address, drop a ''cease communication'' notice on their heads via USPS Certified with return card. This number has been calling my minor daughter 4 or more times a day for more than a week now asking her to take out a loan. We asked them to remove her from their data base and they assured they had, only to have them call again and again. I called the number my self this morning (from my cell) to see exactly how and what name they use when they answer. "Advance America" was the announcement. Then I asked him to stop calling my daughter he appologized and said he would remove the # but never asked for it. When I asked him if he needed the # he called me a "f#$%ing bi***" then a female voice came on and she said the same and hung up. 5 minutes later they called my daughter back and asked for someone we don't know. It was the exact same voice I had just heard. I told him agaiin to stop calling my daughter and he hung up. I called the police to file a harrasment charge and they said nothing could be done. So I'm saying YES it is a scam! These people are the lowest form of pond scum!

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS COMPANY YESTERDAY STATING THAT I WAS APPROVED FOR A LOAN FOR 3,000. I WAS GIVEN THE COMPANY INFORMATION WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE GOING TO RUN A CREDIT CHECK AND HAVE THE SUPERVISOR GET ON THE LINE TO VERIFY MY INFORMATION.  WHEN THE SUPERVISOR CAME ON THE LINE HE VERIFIED MY INFORMATION TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $175 A MO FOR 6 MONTHS FOR A 1,000 LOAN. HE STATED THAT THEY COULD DEPOSIT MY MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT OR GIVE ME CASH IN MY HAND.  I ADVISED HIM THAT HE COULD PLACE THE MONEY INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT.  HE TOLD ME IN ORDER FOR HIM TO FINALIZE THE LOAN I WOULD NEED TO PAY THEM MY FIRST PAYMENT OF $175 AND THEN THEY WOULD RELEASE MY FUNDS INTO MY ACCOUNT.  WTF?  I TOLD HIM I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN MY 38 YEARS OF LIVING ON THIS EARTH. ITS SAFE TO SAY IF I HAVE APPLIED FOR A LOAN I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF CASH AND I HAVE HAD LOANS IN THE PAST AND I MEAN NO LOAN COMPANY HAS EVER ASKED ME ANYTHING LIKE THAT. HE HUNG UP!!!! SINCE THAT CALL THEY HAVE BEEN CALLING MY PHONE NON STOP. THEY ARE CHANGING THEIR  NUMBERS UP AND CALLING STATING THEY ARE DIFFERENT PAY DAY LOAN COMPANIES AND A SERVICE FOR GOING BACK TO SCHOOL.  THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM.COM! MY SUGGESTION IS IF YOU NEED A PAYDAY LOAN DON'T REQUEST A LOAN ONLINE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING THROUGH A DIRECT PAY DAY LOAN COMPANIES LIKE ACE,CHECK N GO, OR CHECK INTO CASH. THESE ARE LEGITAMATE PAY DAY LOAN COMPANIES.  THESE COMPANIES ONLINE ARE NOT DIRECT LENDERS SO THEY GIVE YOUR INFORMATION TO ALL THESE DIFFERENT COMPANIES WHO ARE USING YOUR INFORMATION TO SCAM YOU. AVOID IF ALL POSSIBLE.

Payday loan scam also known as the western union scam they try to get you to pay an amount promising to pay you once the transfer is complete.

They say they are from Advance America Pay Day Loans offering loans for $3000. just Western Union them $200.
The only problem is this company does not do business in my state.   Its a scam¡!!!!!!!!

Received same kind of call about American Legal Services needing my attorney name and number and that I was going to be sued but would not give me any information.  I gave him my attorney's name, phone number and address and then called my attorney.  I have been receiving SEVERAL of these calls so my phone number may have been sold to various agencies saying and doing the same thing or that I have won stuff.  I tell all of them to put it in writing and mail to me ---- BUT NOT ONE OF THEM ASKS FOR THE INFO.  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.  I placed my number on the NO CALL LIST.

It is a scam and the payday loan folk are running out of people to scam and take advantage of.....so watch out people for the new illiegimate trend
