I received the call too. From 0000121233 and then was directed to call 202-657-4861. They claim to be from the  U.S Goverment Grant Department but we all know that it's a scam. SMH

its a SCAM BOTTOM LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you call the number they ask you to send money in some type of way and well IDK the rest but I will assume you gave them a grant and you get nothing.

I mean green dot card, not i-dot

It is not legal. It is a scam. People don't ask you to pay money to receive grant money. They want you to put the money on an i-dot card because it is not traceable so once you give them the number off it, they get the money and run and you can do nothing about it.

The same is happening to me to and police says the same thing they can't do any thing the man told me I was going to die what is this world coming to when its ok to threaten people hopefully he will get caught soon and no one falls for his scams

I got a call from a woman first its scary these ppl know so much the had to pay 270 on a I dot card I went to the police because he said I was going to die I hope they read this its so sad

I got the phone call he wanted me to put 270 on a idot card and give home the number off it then today he said I was going to die so I went to the police

I received a call from unavailable number and they informed me that I was chosen for a $500 grant and if I wanted it via checking acct or check in hand, in which I would have to call a number at 202-657-4861 and confirm a confirmation code which I never called after I had a high suspicion as to why they asked what state I lived in if they had all my other information such as my name and address. How are they getting our numbers and why isn't anything being done with this scam? Extremely scary.

Why isn't the government involved if this person/group is pretending to be the government? They have our full names, addresses and phone numbers!

I've been getting these calls for about a month from the same indian man. Once I asked to speak to the supervisor, he put the phone down and picked it back up himself trying to be someone else. Idiot. Don't bother asking to be taken off calling list, they WILL call you back,

I got the call and I was also told I had to pay $259 for a green dot money pack card (which I have never heard of) and I asked why and he told me "F*** you mother f****r F*** you" and he hung up on me, after I was told it was the federal grants department. I knew it was a scam from the beginning.  I tried calling back and my number has been blocked.

I got the same message and I asked why I had to pay that and he told me f*** you mother f****r and hung up

I had the same thing happen to me today.  Over 50 voicemails and over 100 phone calls.  He is really mad at me because I made fun of him and called him back and told him I had the same deal for him.  The calls started at noon and are still coming at 8:30.

I have been getting calls from this number (202-657-4861) A indian man is on the other end telling that I have been given a grant totaling 7500.00 from the government. I told the man that I was not interested and to please stop calling me. The man became upset and continued to call me back to back. I had to block him from my phone but he left so many messages on my phone telling me how he was going to cut me up, cut out my private part and make me swallow it. He has been calling me a bi***,  dirty w***e, and cursing me out on voicemail. The man said that he has my address which he recited (it was correct) and said that he was coming to my home to cut me with his big knife. I reported this to the cops but they said that there is nothing that they could do because they dont have a name for this psycho. He keeps calling me and my voicemail is completely full with his threatening messages. If anybody nows of anyone that can help me get this psycho to leave alone please reply.

i didnt believe they was giving away money like that. but i gave him a card that didnt have any money on it to see what he would do dont believe it

This number belongs to a fraudulent company trying to scam people.  They are trying to obtain people's private information including bank account numbers.  Their story is that you've been rewarded a $7500 federal grant but you have to either give account information or pay a deposit to Western Union to get the money.  They are pretending to be with the Federal Grants Dept out of Washington DC.

I got a call from the number saying I got a 7500$ grant from the government . The people on the line could barley speak English they give me this # 2026574861 to call the official name is JOHN WESLEE account official what a F**K.  I think this is a scam. They told me to go to a Walmart or cvs and purchase a green dot money pack..put thee hundred dollars on it and the 7500$ will be transferred within 15 minutes. This is bull SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT they are from INDIA....................

I just had $2,000 stollen from me by a secret shopper agency, the bank said the cashiers check had cleared and once it had I sent most of it back to the agency via a transfering service I was supposed to evaluate. Then the bank decided the check shouldn't be cleared a week later and deducted ALL of it from my account, putting me a negative $1,500 and there's nothing I can do about it. I can't buy food, gas, my cell phone bill, or rent, and I don't know how I'm going to survive now..
I just read this post because the same us grant guy called me recently, I know its a scam, but I'm still in tears over my present situation; So when I read "LORD our God will provide what we need because He knows our needs before we even mention it" at the bottom of you're post, it just helped more solidify my faith that somehow it's going to be alright.

Got this call wrote down the number to call back. As well as give the grant id confirmation number JD123.  I questioned why I would have to call back I was informed I must hang up and immediately call said number. The original call came from an unknown number. Obvious scam
