I received a call from this number and I have a regular account with AT&T and a contract (I have had my cell number for 12 years). So it doesn't help to change over to a contract. The big problem I see you having is them using up your minutes, that I'd get mad about.

Two calls from this number, just blocked this number.  Hope no one gives out personal info to these guys.

Said they were the US Treasury Department wanting to give me money.  One of the thickest Southern Asian (India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bengal?) accents I've ever heard told me his name was "Robert Brown."  LOL!  Then he told me about the $8,400.00 I was selected to receive because I'd never received a grant before and I had a clean criminal record.  HA HA!!  The joke's on YOU, Robert Brown!!  I received grants to start my business, plus I have multiple violent felonies!!  NOW GIMME MY MONEY, PUNK, BEFORE I REACH THROUGH THIS PHONE AND GRAB YOUR SCRAWNY LITTLE NECK!!

I got the same call as you all above.  I cried foul and then they hung up.  This stupid crap is happening more and more and more and it's really pissing me off.  Any way of getting this stupid stuff to stop.

A guy with a heavy Indian accent but from India and I don't believe the phone was from someone in the state .  I am trying to get more inf in order go report to the Feds. They are using th us treasurer deot name fir their criminal actions.  

The guy that called me from this number told my son that his name was George Williams. My son took the call and gave them my information. Unfortunately they took over $800 dollars before my son told me abnout it. He is also working with two other people. I only have one of the phone numbers withme. He said his name was Michael. The phone number he used is 1-646-257-3488. I wish some3one would catch them so I could get my money back. I really need it for surgery. I will get back with yoy tomorrow night when I fin d the other name and number.

Definitely a scam. First "Peter" called, you can tell he is calling from a call center, voices in the background and he isn't American, or if he is - American of Indian descent. So I was curious to see how far this would go and played along. So Peter kept telling me over and over how I was selected to receive a grant from the US government for $8400. He did have part of my home address and the cell number he has is one I use for business (prepaid through Virgin Mobile). My calls kept being dropped and he called right back (wanted to know why I kept hanging UP!) I explained that I had bad cellphone coverage. The money is to be transferred and wanted account info (no way was I giving that). I have an old pre-paid debit card from a rebate and has no account into and no money, so I used that. Once he had my account number he gave me another number to call and talk to Michelle, an account manager. She verified the info and that the money would be transferred from the Treasury bank in New York, but that there is a transfer fee of $200 that I would have to pay. HA! I told her that I had dealt with grants in the past and never is there a fee and she told me that I could refuse, which I did. So that is the whole scam.

I am non us citizen and got the same call but now it is only $8000.....when I said thanks not intrested she hanged up

Received a missed call notice - I always check numbers that I don't know.  Thanks to all who have posted here - I wouldn't give them info anyway, but it's good to know this is a scam.

Call from 202-666-8103 caller id indicates District of Columbia.  Very apparent these reps are calling from a foreign country.  They caller states I am eligible for $8400 grant tax free and they just need my bank account number to deposit the money.

I am smart enough to know this is a scam, but some poor old person is going to get ripped off.

The same lady called twice within 30 minutes, asking for my daughter-in-law. First time I said she wasn't home and could I take a message. Lady was rude, said no and hung up. Second call I told her she didn't live here and she said thank you and hung up. Be curious to see if they call again.

Did not answer. Number came up and I always check numbers if I do not know. Scammer get a life and real job

This weird dude said that he was from the US Treasury and that I was being offered a grant of $8400 for being a good citizen, paying my taxes etc.  But, the only way I could get it is to give him my banking info.  When I refused, siting that the IRS paid my refund via online banking, and I didn't know whether he was really with the US Treasury--I wanted my grant via check, he started to belittle me.  I terminated the call.

Just got a call from 202-666-8103 I never answer long distance calls since no one has my phone number unless it is someone I have given it to and i don't give it out.

I just received the same call.  Scammers!!

I just got the same call, I told her to send me the information in an e-mail and she hanged up on me. please don't fall for this scam,  if you get calls like this  don't fall for it!

Thanks to this board posting.  This is a total scam, said he was calling from the US Government Grants department.  I need to get rid of pre-paid cellular service.  Nothing is private anymore unless you contract yourselves with a major phone company.  Sad.

This number calls me several times a day and every time I have answered there is no response just silence.

I got phone call that i have been choseen for goverment grant,since i am us citizen and i paid my taxes on time and i have no criminal record or bad credit,i can not use this money for illegal activity only to pay my bill or remodle my house,all they need my bank account number,i even ask why you do not send it throw the mail he said the get lost most of the time and it is safer to deposit in your account.What a scam i told my self how come in this time of bad economy which they do not have money they are giving mony $8500 free to the people WOWWWWWW what prank.I told him i do not have my bank number here at work why he does not give call tonight
