This person texted me from a 704 area code . Trying to buy my impala via PayPal and said they had a person who would pick it up out here California . He/she texted me at 1am askin for my Paypal info . I went off. I googled the name Alice Ed Hood and got this forum. This person needs to be reported to police. This just happened 9/19/2013

Same thing just happened to me from number 720-295-8729, although he went by the name of John. He texted me this morning after I had posted my car ad on ksl last night. He said that he wanted to buy my truck for his cousin and that it was going to be a surprise. He said that he wanted to be assured that everything I said about the truck was indeed true. I told him it was, and he asked for my paypal info to pay full price and that he would arrange for somebody to come and pick it up because he was out of town. I told him I don't use paypal, and that's when he started to get really pushy for me to set one up and that it would be impossible for him to pay in any other way, saying he was desparate. He also kept saying how safe paypal is reassuring me that it's government approved. Don't fall for it. If somebody really wants be buy a car they won't be so wierd about it. This is a scam.

This $hithe@d is also using 714 494 9280.  Alice Ed Hood.  Texted me on two of my Craigslist ads with identical messages.  Scam.

Same thing just happened to me 5 minutes ago for my bike I listed on Craigslist. Said he was sick and could not speak loud enough to talk on the phone.

yep this guy just hit on my KSL car ad as well.  Wanted to do the Pay Pal thing.   Thanks to all who posted up and I too am glad I found this web site.

After I text him or her on the hour every hour they finally text me back telling me to stop disturbing them that was it but im still texting them

Just received a text from Wayne Fisher,who wanted to buy my car sight unseen through PayPal.  Obviously bogus attempt to scam me as other have indicated.

The same this happen to me only this person tried to become some Alice Ed Hood... She was a very demanding person . I had put my car on Craig's list and in an instant he texted me from +1 (828) 919-9164 he til me she was a US army reserve flight doctor and that she could only text... I felt it fishy in some way so if you that busy why u texting me... Then out of nowhere she textes me and says that she is a very honorable women and that I would get my cash in hand... So she sent me to set up a Paypal account and she asked for my Unfo she told me that some agent was supposed to come and pick up the car but first I had to send $650 to western union.. And this did not include the extra $100 that western union charges.. And that after when I paid the$650 that I would get the rest!! So I started investigating I said how the hell am I supposed to pay that kind if money, if you want the damn car why do I have to pay for the shipping that your agent is going to come pick up...I was at work and inkept getting messages of this person eager for me to go an pay western union ASAP. When I didn't answer she would be why the silence lets conclude this!! I mean this person was very demanding not to mention that she tried to involve PayPal as her scam so I informed PayPal . So I sent a text to the damn vastard and told him about his plan and that good luck scamming another person because inam not as dumb as yiu thoughtand I said that my lawyer was investigating this case and I haven't heard him since...
Beware this is a scammer she wants you to send money to some western union and send $650 to some agent!!

Forward the bogus email to PayPal and go to www.ic3.gov to file a complaint.  Include the email with full headers and the number you received the text messages from.

i too was selling a car on KSL. the day after i posted it, i got a text from this number saying that Wayne Fisher wanted to by my car without seeing it via paypal. i gave him my paypal info, and then i got a message in my spam inbox saying that mr fisher's transaction is totally ligit and to pay him 600 dollors through a western union money order for his agent to come to utah to pick up the car. He told me that he was located in MO, and didn't explain anything other than that.
THANK GOD i found this before i went through with it. i sent him a nasty message and i havent heard back from him yet.
BUT, it looks like this piece of $#!! is trying to scam people constantly, so be careful...

Just got a text from Wayne Fisher about a vehicle I was selling on ksl, who immediately wanted to send me money through pay-pal. I then proceeded to call a financial advisor for advice because I didn't know how to use paypal. They advised to proceed with caution. I then called a family member who said the same thing. Then I had a feeling I should look up where the area code came from and found this website! Thank you so much! I definitely dodged a bullet!!!!!

Received txt messages from this number in response to a car listing on ksl in salt lake city.  Name given was Wayne Fisher.

Tried selling a car online and received text from this number saying his name was Wayne Fisher.  Obviously not truly interested in car.  Continued contact and wanted paypal account information.  Per conversation, I concluded that he was not a native English speaker.

I am selling a car on KSL.com classified. "Wayne" texted that he wanted to buy the car at my asking price using Paypal. After seeing these posts - the dialogue stopped there. Great site - thanks all! All I lost was some time - I wish there was a way to legally thump these dirt bags.

Standard PayPal scam.  I had a vehicle listed for sell with my text information.  

They ask if your (Make | Model | Price | Your location) is still for sale, then they say something to the effect that they are working offshore or across the country or are too busy and they want your verified PayPal information to send payment--as they are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle per the advertisement online that you posted.

Just got a text from KSL.COM, wanted to buy Mercedes sight unseen via PayPal.   I threatened an investigation and haven't heard back.   Name was Wayne Fisher

I have a Truck for sale in Salt Lake City Utah. The number 202-681-0188 texted me and wanted to pay for the truck without seeing it via PayPal. Good thing I checked out the number. The person is now going by the name Wayne Fisher. He will text you back but not call you from that number.

Sarah mine was a text message wanting to know why I was selling my vehicle after giving some information the PayPal came forward and I responded that I thought it was a scam is simple Google search reveal this page whoever this is may want to get a new phone number haha

I had this same thing happen to me today. I posted an ad, and got a text that said they would PayPal the money to me and they would arrange for pick up after cash was in hand. Sarah Robinson is the name given at the end of the texts

Called on ad I have placed on a website. Gave me the usual scam to send more money than I am asking and send the rest back to them. I have worked in baking for the past 4 years and KNOW this is a scam. Same name Joe Luke was used # 202-681-0188
