Some indian man called me also tal202king bout $7000 I got approved for .He kept saying acting like he couldn't hear.Then kept asking my address you want it in cash;or my visa card .Kept calling me back. I also heard other people talking in background.

I got multiple calls from some dude with an indian accent from 202-559-7648 telling me I qualify for a 9K pell grant free from the united states government because I paid my taxes on time.  They said that it was free and that I didnt have to pay it back and I could use towards things like medical bills, insurance, student loans, etc.  I said ok, how does one recieve this "free" pell grant (which is usually used for education purposes) and he told me that it could be done through direct deposit (meaning I would have to give him all my bank account info), they could credit my visa, master card, or amex, or by western union.  I told him that this all sounds very fishy since a check was not an option when receiving payment from the US Government since that is there main source or way of paying private citizens their pell grants and tax returns.  He tried to give me some spiel about how they dont send checks anymore yada yada yada yada.  I called him out and he said that i could call his manager at another 202 number t verify everything if Id like and he culd handle the payment when Im ready to move forward with the transaction.  This is a BIG SCAM...do not fall for it.

I got a call from this number to and they told me to put a deposit of $790 first than I can get the $7000
grants money.after I did the deposit they disappear.if these people were in my country I would have cut their body in half.they're doing this because they can't feed themself.please help me sue these people so their a** so that they can go to jail.God bless ya'll and be  careful out there!!

I got the call and he said he worked for the government....i asked what department and asked why he called from an unknown number i couldnt understand his durka accent....ive heard better english from iraqies when i was deployed... and i told him his call was traced and his scam is over and i said have fun in federal prison so he hung up

I live in Tennessee, and I also have been getting these calls from weird people stating that I am recieving a gov. grant. But I kind of believed them because I had been trying for several, several months to get them. They called me from the exact same number a couple of times. But then a lady called from a strange number that only had like 5 numbers in it, and I could understand her perfectly. And she said that I only had to pay $3.87 and that was it. I told her about the other people that had contacted me before, and she said she didn't know anything about that. So what do ya'll think? Is this a scam too?

UToday I received a call from this number 1-900-152-0104 the person that called told me about the $7000 grant from the government and I had 3 ways to get the grant I could received it by direct deposit into my checking account or credit card or cash which I said cash so he gave me this number for me to call back 1-202-683-9429 which I would have to make a small fee to get my $7000 government grant and to us this confirmation number E505 when I call which I didn't instead I Google it Amd to my surprise someone has the same or almost exactly what was said and same confirmation number and phone someone should take action.

i recieved the same call and asked him what nationality he was. he told me he is from the philipines. i told him that someone called me and offered me 7k in grant money. i told him that the guy told me i had to give him my bank account number or a credit card number. i asked him whey he couldn't give it to me in the form of a check. he told me if would be mailed in 3-5 days........ lol . i told him i'd believe it when i saw the check.

I got a call from a simular man. Told me I could get $7000 in grants to help with bills or other BS. He told me they where part of the federal government. I asked him more than once what company he worked for. He asured me he work for the US Department of Grants, which is not real. Told me to use a number #E505 and call them back at number 202-683-9429 and they could set me up with cash today. I did not beleave it. I had to ask him two or three time to understand what he was saying. The one problem with out sourceing, is it has become all to common to get a call from someone with no english background. I guess even the criminals find it cheaper to use china and Indiana.

He gave me a address of 200 Independance Ave South west, Building HHH, Washington DC. That building houses the US Department of Health and Human Services. I know they like to spend money but I doubt they have the budget to hand out $7000 in cash to private citezens.

Better luck next time. Don't be a fool, know one important will ever ask you for info over the phone, they will want to speak in person.

Yeah so I'm 20 years old I don't have a bank account or anything of the sort.  I have a few prepaid debit cards. I got the same call pretty much foreign guy says hes from the government and I got entered for a $7, 000 grant.  He said I can have it sent to me by bank account or debit card,  credit card,  or check.  Now I'm not that stupid but I like to play along with these things. Reason being because I already have horrible credit.  I'm not saying that I'm proud of it but I deal.  So when ever someone asks for my last 4 in my social or for a card number i just give it to them but I use a prepaid bank card that has no ties to me and I look at it like this if there trying to get credit cards in my name or something best of luck to them cuz my credit score is like 400 and if they run it further into the ground thats cool cuz im having all my info and ss# included changed for now let them think there having fun but all in I'm the smarter one.

SOMEONE CALLED WITH HE NAME KEVIN (FOREIGN) AND WOULD TELL YOU THAT YOU WOULD GET GRANT MONEY WHICH IS A SCAM THEY WOULD CALL FROM 7378742833 THEN GIVE YOU A FAKE ID NUMBER , AND WOULD HAVE YOU CALL THE 202 NUMBER, THEY ALSO ASKED FOR DEBIT NUMBER, ADDRESS, AND LAST 4 DIGET OF SS NUMBER I FOLLOW THROUGH JUST TO SEE WHAT IT WAS ABOUT, AND GAVE THEM A FAKE CARD NUMBER AND BANK JUST TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD DO , IT IS A BIG SCAM  REPORTING THESE NUMBER I HOPE WILL HELP GET THESE PEOPLE

Got a call from this number , they wanted me to go to a western union and deposit money they said  I had a 7000 dollar grant coming my way . I looked it up and people are saying its a scam.

I don't think that was an Indian accent. Mine sounded Filipino. When I slipped a few Filipino words in our conversation, he understood.

Same call from all the rest. I got a call from Felix saying I got a grant for 7gran and said they could transfer it to western union today after I call his supervisor to verify a confirmation # since I didn't want to give out my bank account. I asked how he got my # and he said survey ,since I pay my taxes on time and no criminal records. When I asked if there was a fee for the call, he said no, it's a toll free #. Ha! Was I born yesterday?

I got the same call from Michael in the verification department he calls unknown bcuz they know they r scanners. Same scenario as everyone else I was curious of there tactics o knew it was a scam when I heard why I was picked with these other 17,000 people.  I know better & scams are all over now days. People please be careful, & remember if something sounds off it probably is. Make Google your friend so your not so gullible. There's a whole process for Grants from the gov't & that's not it.

Just got a call from an Indian man representing "The U.S. Government". Our good country would like to send me $7,000 because "I usually pay my taxes and I have no criminal background". I appreciate the ego boost, but I certainly can't affirm the lack of a criminal background and the taxes thing is a bit hazy also. All they want in return is for me to send them $239.00. If I had $239 to send to a dick-bird scammer I wouldn't need the governments money, now would I !?!?! These Indian government representatives have got this all backwards.

Got the same call November 2. Thank you all for the information! I too knew it had to be too good to be true. The name I got was Michael though so other people have another name.

Im from Kentucky and I saw this page,
I called the Government Fraud reporters (1-800-447-8477)
and they confirmed themselves that this is a fraud, telling me that if the government was giving out money to people they wouldn't ask for a down payment of any sorts and wouldn't tell you it's in cash.

i got this call at around 11:00 AM saturday october 29 and told me to call the above number its deff a scam theres no way the government is giving away money that easy nowadays and i didnt like how he knew my address

I as well just got a call stating that because I have paid my bills on time and have never filed bankruptcy I was chosen for a 7,000$$ grant from the government. When I called the # he (Robin) gave me it rings once and goes to a busy signal....!! I would say TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

I received a phone call today from 202-683-9429 saying that I had been selected for a 7000 dollar grant from the US Government. I knew that it had to be a scam when they said that I would have to pay 239 dollars as a deposit because the amount of money was so large. Then they told me I could pick it up in cash at the western union which was another clue that it was a scam. The government almost always distributes money in the form of a check.

I got a call from them too... he have an indian accent.. he told me that i have a good credit and been paying bill on time and i been select to recieve a $7000 pell grant.  after i heard that he ask for my information and believe is a scam and then decide to change my name than they ask me to call this number 202-683-9429.. than i call them and i have them email me a check but they say they can't pay it in check they say is cash only... i know government grant won't pay it in cash....it.. a scamm......watch out.... everyone.....
