Do not fall for this scam,  I was stupid enough to fall for it and sent them money.  Neddless to say I received no funds and they are now unreachable.

Yes this is a scam, I was stupid and fell for it, after I sent money they had me call the bank and they asked me to send them more money to transfer my funds. Everyone had Indian(from India)accents and no one spoke clear English.  In this tough economic time it is a shame that foreigners in our country are trying to scam the
American pulic.

Yeah, these people called me and it sounded like crap from the beginning. I actually did go to western union because it was just at the end of my street to ask them questions. They lied and said for me not to tell them it was for a grant because they would charge a commercial fee of 500 to 600 dollars. Then said for me to send the money to a name that was nothing like theirs - some foreign name and in NETAL the country. Told me I would be able to cancel the transaction if I did not see the money deposited into the account afterwards. Dont fall for it. Any gov grant would not need for you to send money first.

They called and called and called until i picked up the phone. So i answered one day and actually listed to what they had to say. When they started saying i was eligible to receive a 7000 dollar grant for not filing for bankrupcy in the past 6 months, having good credit , and paying my bills on time. The first person u talk to says that u dont have to pay anything, that u will just receive 7000 in the bank. But, when they transfer u to the 2nd Indian dude, he says i have to pay 280 before i get my 7000.Guys just dont listen to it like i did, i almost went to western union pay the 280 and that would have gave me 100 for a weeks worth of work. Dont do it!

Monday is too late.  The scammers may have all your money by then.

Call your bank now.  The number is on the statement.  Tell them what happened.  They can freeze the account.  Then Monday you can close the account and open a new one with a new number.

They tried to tell me I was reandomly picked for a grant. I googled the number while on the phine with them and informe3d them that they were a scam and the accent guy kept saying hello... I can't hear you when I called the number back they wouldn't answer.us

wants $250 through Western Union for a $7000 grant supposedly because I was selected because I've paid my taxes on time-not correct, have not filed bankruptcy in the last two years, & because I dont have a crimimal record- again not correct!  Ended up hanging up on me after me questioning alot, then asking if he had heard me say that I have a relative who works for the FBI, & asking if the police were there yet.  OBVIOUSLY A SCAM

I got the call too... strong accent. He kept pushing & telling me he is trying to help me. When I finally got this number that's supposed to be Gary Wilson, I advised I would be contacting the Texas Attorney Generals office. He quickly hung up. Any company who knows they are doing the right thing would welcome you to check with the AG. This is a fraud. Beware! If you never applied for anything or didn't ask for the specific service, then don't give out your info to people who call out of the blue. The govt especially, never gives money for free.
Who makes you pay up front for a grant? And with a govt grant, I guarantee you, they do not conduct business like this.

This IS a fraud and they ARE trying to get your personal information (i.e. Social Security Number) and banking information in order to strip your account(s) of any funds.

The exact same thing happen to me a foreign speaking lady called me stating that i received a grant from the government to do whatever i choose to do with it as long as i don't have any felonies she read back some general information about me and ask for my bank information stating how would i like to receive my grant money you know i almost fell for it but then i realize that you know that 's not how the government operate they work through red tape (lots of paper) you know that's how we get caught up greed and it's really easy now with the shambles of our economy now so let's be careful of scammers  and remember if it sounds too good it probably is !!!

I got the call too, grant for 7K,  did not provide any info about my bank accout, though they knew my address, I told them to send me a check, they said they don't do that by they will send me the money through western union....after they gave me this no, to talk to gari wilson,
i googled  the no and there we go! I knew it was a scam!
I advise you all, never provide info about your bank accout or SS!

a man that calls from this number has raped women in indiana. so please call the police as soon as you get a call from this number.

Some lady call me from an unknown number telling me the government was giving me $7000 but I need to give them $250. Is this for real

Said I would receive a grant from the U.S. government, had all my personal information, called on a Sat. after bank hours. Said I would receive $7000 in grant money. Asked where I would like to receive my the money, gave them my savings account information... it only has  $0.02 in it!  They gave me a confirmation number and a phone number to talk to Gary Wilson in Washington D.C. A woman answered, and I asked for Gary Wilson who said I would receive the money in my account within 30-40 min., if I gave them an up-front fee of $310. I told them I wasn't going to give them any money if I couldn't verify that the money was in my account, so we'd have to do it Monday. I asked to speak to Gary Wilson or a supervisor. Though, it was indeed a Washington D.C. number, every person I spoke with had a foreign accent, so I said I didn't want the money. They called back a few minutes later, and I said I was Googling them and they hung up! I will call my bank in the morning to close my savings account, and if necessary, my checking account, though I did not give them my account number... I hope it is safe because I just got paid for the month!

I GOT ONE OF THESE CALLS THEY SAID THEY NEEDED 140 DOLLARS TO COVER A BANK TO BANK TRANSFER. HAS ANY PROVEN THIS TO BE LAGIT OR NOT? I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF THEY AREN'T LAGIT WHY ARE THEY STILL ALLOWED TO CALL PAOPLE AND SCAM POOR PEOPLE OUT OF WHAT LITTLE MONEY THEY HAVE?

NO!  Do not give them any more information.

Call your bank.  Do it NOW!  Call the number on your bank statement.  Tell them what you did.  Get your account closed and a new account opened with a new number.

The message you got was from a scammer.  He will take all of the money out of your bank account.  He will never give you any money.

same thing here.  they called from a blocked number offering the $7k grant from the Gov't.  she said only 2000 people get selected a year and the qualification are no felonies in the last year, no monies owed to the gov't and a couple other things.  she provided me a guys name Henry Jons, 202-683-9904.  she had a foriegn accent?  i asked why number was blocked her excuse was she is on an internet dialer system that does not show a number.  one thing that leads me to believe it may be legit is the fact they had my name, address, phone number and few other misc peices of info.  some is public knowledge but not all.

JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS AM I DEALING WITH , I JUST GOT THIS NUMBER FROM A LADY THAT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT A GRANT I QUALIFY FOR FROM THE GOVERMENT, SO I NEEDED A LIL INFO, AND THERE IS ANTHER NAME I WAS GIVEN TO VERIFY MY GRANT ACCOUNT. I WANT TO  KNOW IF THIS IS REAL.
