My grandmother was scammed by this number, they pretended to be me her grand daughter and told her i was in custody and they needed 1900 anyway she fell for it and ended up sending $900 thru western union! I'm sooo angry that there is nothing being done to these scammers!

My mother fell for this scam. She was picking money up ( NOT hers thank god) and sending it to India. I just found this out today. They had just called when we arrived. When she got off the phone she told me what was going on. She said the bank was working with her to try to catch these ppl. She wasn't very clear with everything. All know is that we were going to pick up the $400 that she had sent out twice before. I instructed her that this was the end and she was not to do this again.
I need to find out more info. I think I was in shock that she was doing this.
The number she was getting calls from was 202-032-3653.

I also just received a call from them. I am finacially strapped I was about to fall for  this. I had been praying for a miracle and just knew this was it. Let's stop

I got a call today too..at first i laughed when this man with an Indian accent told me i was getting a grant for $7,500, when i laughed he asked " what is matter with you?" just the fact that he asked it in a rude manner i knew it was a scam, then he asked are you interested or not, i replied well of course but don't ask me for money, he replied no, no you don't have to give me any money, then i asked how did you get my info, he said, we did a demographic research in your town and you were chosen out of 1,500 people to receive the grant because you have no criminal record and are a good taxpayer..i really laughed because first, i just moved back to Cali after spending 2 yrs in Costa Rica and i have not filed my taxes in 2 yrs and i still owe $$ to the IRS, anyways he gave me my ID# and a phone # to call 202-738-4695..so i call and this lady answers and tells me i need to WU $300 threw  money pack, i said lady i don't have $300, she starts yelling at me saying i am not asking you to give ME $300 i just need you to send $300 through money pack so you can get your $$ i also informed her that when you send $$ to someone threw WU you just need the state i live and i can pick up at any WU location,  she again said no, we need the $300..so, i told her again, i don't have it, she said when you do then call us back and hung up..i called her back and asked why she hung up (i am laughing about this the whole time) she says you hung up, why are you calling me, go F*** yourself..i replied your associate gave me the # to call you so i can get my $7500 now your asking why am i calling you..she then replied again go F***** stupid B***** and hung up, i called her back several times just to annoy her and told her she will be reported

I just had a interesting converstion just now about a guy name Duongo Vancon,
I pretended that I was interested about getting the money, he told me I was pick to recieve government grant money of $9000.00. So I played along and he told me to send $220.00 to get the verification code to recieve $9000.00 and I said ok. Pretended I was at western union and i told him im there already what do i need. he told me grab a form, so i went online to see how a form looks like since he ask me whats on the form and i told him. after having pretending i at the place and im filling out the form, i ask him for his name and information. he only can give his name and he said country will be india. I told him since they track all my transaction and western union always have a police on site for every action taken place here and i ask him if he wants to talk to the police and he said no. here is the most rude part of this indian scammer, after all the make pretend of filling out forms and being at western union, i told him i only can pay by check, he said no they only take cash, so i told him WU accepts checks, he said well ok, than i told him since im gonna pay by check, its gonna take 2 days for it to be cleared and he will recieve his money on the third. he got pissed off and to me go Fxxk Myself and hung up.

I had that call today from a 202 area code.I gave my credit card info and the women gave me a confirmation # and told me to cal 202-697-9532 to talk to her supervisor for details about the $7000 grant I was receiving for paying my bills and taxes  on time. I callled the number and spoke with a man who told me there would be a processing fee of $300 but it would be refunded all together I would receive $7300 in 3 to 6830 hours! I told him I didn't have that right now but I still gave the first lady my credit card info. They told me the check would be coming from The Federal reserve bank. I got a call from 202 666 8540. I said hello? Heard some noises, then they hung up, I was like wtf? So I looked up the number on google, and found these posts, good thing huh, didn't even bother calling them back. Lol

I recieved a call from a 202 number today frim a woman with an indian accent she told me I had recived a frant.for 6,746  ,she then began to explain to me that I  could not miss use the noney or use it illegally she then verified my adress and asked me to verify my zip code I gave her my zip code the.she asked me for.my card number and I knew something was sketch I hung up the phone I didnt give er my card number, and I decided to get on the computer and look up grant money scams and this is website that I found verified that I had made the right choice,, and they are a scam dont fall for this foolery REPORt it..

I received a call from 202-436-9977 it was a a woman with an accent saying she was from the Federal Grant Program and I was picked out of 2000 other people to win a $7000 grant. They knew my name, they knew my address and a couple other things I never disclose over the phone. the woman gave me a confirmation # and said to call back after I Western Unioned them $265. My friend looked up the company online and this whole thing is a scam. I called back the # and told them to quit calling me and they just said nothing and hung up on me. how can we get these people to quit scamming us? Maybe our government should pay more attention to this issue before it's too late, this is ridiculous !

They called me today.said I qualify for a 7000 grant from them government.told me to send them 280. I just started laughing. I know danm well the government isn't about to give me 7000 for no reason. Total scam but it was really fun how they tried to sell their pitch.

Funny, I had just read a post about this earlier in the day (yesterday) and whada you know I get a sound like phone call. I also was on my toes because of another scam I was taken for in my business (adverstising).

I answer the phone and hear what sounded like thousands of people in the background talking. I hear an abrupt sounding man as if I was___________? "How can I help you I asked" knowing to never answer yes to these types of phone calls (google it). "Halo, is this ________?"
"What do you need ?" I ask.
I am fully aware of what is about to happen, and eager to play the game.

"Hallo, If this is--------  you have been qualified for a grant of free money $7,500 that you do not have to pay because you paid your taxes. Thank you and where can I send it to your bank?"  
"I've been qualified for what?, Why"

"Oh", I say "I hear everyone in the background. I just heard somebody else say that another person was getting money, you mean I'm not the  only lucky one?"

"NO------- you only get 7,500 for your school or whatever you want. ----------- how can I send this to your bank"

"I don't think its fair I'm not the only one! I never get to be the only one! I hate to share, I had a twin and it was always share, share share! Not fair. She doesn't get the free money, does she?"

I received a call from a similar # like this but they told me i had to send 280$ cash before i receive my 70000 Grant through western union they told me my money would be sent at the same time i send 280 do y'all think its the same ppl???? Anyone??

Sarah I came across your message aafter almost being scammed by these same people just now they are using  different names and numbers and now instead of grants its payday/personal loans.. The new number is 202-697-9866 and they call theirselves Consumer Loans Company with an address of 200 Indepence Ave. Southwest Washington DC 20201. The woman who called me was Veronica Cutter (who had a strong indian accent) and after telling me that I was approved for a $2000 loan and my payments would only be $214.00 for 12 months she got my attention I was really surprised that I was even approved because I do not have a bank account and I was only looking for a $500 payday loan to help with the holidays but with the payments I figured it would be a really great christmas for my kids instead and that I would deal with the payments for 12 months at that amount. I let my mind wander for a bit so I wasnt paying too much attention to the conversation just kinda agreeing with her and validating my information she was asking. Then she said something about sending a verification of funds payment of $180 that I needed to send to them thru Western Union before I got my funds and the verification payment back I came right back to reality asking why would I be sending a payment when I am trying to borrow money. She gave me some crazy explanation and I almost believed her and had I not found the hundrends of posts from people who they had already scammed I would have gotten scammed myself. I saw that you actually tracked them may I ask what you tracked them with and do you know how we can catch these scandalous people. After all the stories I read from the people they have scammed in the last few years it really broke my heart and I would like to do whatever I can to help in stopping these people any means necessary. Seriously pissed off

I received a call from these a*** holes as well.  They kept calling me  tellin me that I was selected to get at 9,200 grant to pay off bills and taxes, but I could not use it for gambling and alcohol.  I 'm thinkin to my self if its my money I'll spend it what the hell I want.  I know it's scam becuase they ask for me to send the money Western Union and $140.00 at that.  So I asked the lady why am I paying a processing fee for a grant that is suppose to be free.  They claiming some s*** about the bank being out of NY so that' why I had to pay $149.00 dollars.  The lady had the nerve to say that to prove that she is not lying she would refund my money back.  I reported this number and something needs to be done about this.  These people already had all my information.  Just imagine what else they can do with it.  I'm calling SSI to see about changing my SS#.

yes, I had receive a phone call from India and they wanted 165.00 wire to them in order to get 2,300 cash for myself, I was a fool for believing in them. I want my money back and they lie to me about wiring money to me that didn't come to me.

I just recieved a call right now from 570-776-9659 telling me that I had been awarded $7000 grant and had been randomly picked along with 1500 other people for being a good tax payer. All I needed to do was take down the confirmation number and call his senior manager at 315-215-1684 and she would send the money. They asked how I wanted it and I said on a card. When I called her she knew my number, name and address. She told me that I needed to make a deposit of $269 which would be refundable and I would send this money through western union and then they would deposit this money on my card, all they needed was my account numbers. I immediately hung up. What creeps me out is that they had lots of my personal information. I will be watching my credit closely. Plus I found out online that grants are completely free; they require no deposits. There are grant writing companies that may require a fee for writing the grant request for you but that is it.

I have received a call today stating I am suppose to get $7491.00 of grant money that does not need to be paid back and they said there are no fees involved to get a grant because a grant should not cost money . I was called by someone from phone number 213-543-0000. They claimed to be from a company representing a payday loan company. They said that I had defaulted on a $300 payday loan (couldn't tell me the exact name of the company, I "got" the loan from. He said that he was from the parent company and that I was going to be sued for the $300 plus court costs, if I didn't pay them right away. I told him that I hadn't taken out a $300 payday loan and that my bank account would prove it. He again threatened me with a lawsuit. Then I told him that he could talk to my lawyer about this non-existent loan. He again threatened me with a lawsuit and told me that he wasn't asking for any money right then. i told him that I knew that this was a scam. And that he wasn't getting a penny from me. He argued with me for a few more minutes, then hung up. I haven't heard anything since.

I think our government needs to step up to the plate and back there words if this is coming from over seas it should be treated as an act of terrorism and should be dealt with swiftly and severely.

These a**holes had me believing them for a second. I mean think about it, who doesn't want money right? Well they started up by saying I had been selected randomly in my district and that I qualified for a $7000 grant that would be tax free and I would be able to use for what ever I want such as starting up a small Business, to get out of debt, or even just put it in a savings account. So I was like great ok. Then they asked "how would you want us to send you the money? In a savings account checking account or a credit card?" I told them a credit card. They asked "would you like it on a VISA, MasterCard, or a Discovery Card and I told them VISA. So I was like great I'm going to have some extra cash right? Well I was wrong. Once that was done they said "alright sir what's your 16 digit code on your credit card" and I'm like "I don't have one....I thought you said you were going to send me the money on a card?" and they just kept on with "it is not secure" and all this other BS and so on. The point of the story is, don't fall for this scam. Listen to all the other people ho have gone through this and if somebody calls you asking for your info., don't give them any of your information.

I got the same call but the number I had to call back was 2026210929. I was asked to send $235 via western union then I will.receive my $7000 grant money in 45 minutes

The people just called me from a NEW NUMBER with the same offer, 4,746 dollars for a small one time $99 tax to be paid at the Western Union. he had my home address and said he was calling from california, but was with the federal government and based out or washington DC, he told me he couldn't give out the information of who had signed me up for a grant, only that a creditor had signed me up and he had reviewed my credit report . the NEW NUMBER is (518) 636-0270 and WILLIAM (HAJERDAJN) was who i spoke with.

someone with a strong indian accent called me this morning telling me of the 7K in grant money I could get - while he didn't ask me any important information like DOB or SS - he did tell me to call someone else at this number 202.684.6582 Alex Williams.  When I started questioning him on where he was calling from, what his address was, what his name was, as I was writing this ALEX WILLIAMS called me, when I started asking him for information like his address etc and telling him that the internet says this is a scam... he didn't hang up nor did he say anything - he stayed on long enough for us to get a tracking number on his phone (technology is fun) and they are based overseas.... THIS IS A SCAM!
