I get lots of calls like this to the point that I got a call blocker.  The cheapest one I found (and it looks cheap) was one called Pro Call Blocker and I just plugged it in to the phone line (didn't even bother to program it).  Now whenever a spam call comes in, I just press the blacklist button (it stores up to 1500) and presto...no more calls from that number.  You can also manually enter numbers; If you make a mistake, just scroll thru and hit the remove button. It logs all calls in or out and you can program it for the current date and time (I didn't bother as all I use it for is blocking spam numbers.  Best money I ever spent. Make sure you get the latest version....Amazon, Ebay, etc....just do a Google search...approx. $35 - $50. Cheap but effective..

This sorry phone caller bunch from AICR calls me and only lets it ring 3 times. I use my phone companys call blocker service then they call me at 202-350-4661. So I block it then they use 202-350-3492. I don't know how many numbers they have, but don't ever donate to American Institute of Cancer Research please. Their harrassing ways of getting your money don't deserve a dime.

I have asked the AICR not to call but they repeatedly call.  I give my money to my local hospital  to help local cancer patients and regional cancer research hospital.   This company is never satisfied with what you do for them.  They always want more.  I will not deal with them again.  I did the envelopes one year and they kept calling wanting more and more.   Since then I have learned how little money actually goes to cancer research.

Why do I keep getting these calls from AIRC.  Can just do so much.  DO NOT CALL LIST!!!

I get two or three calls everyday from AICR under two names.  They call week-ends at 8:00 A.M. and there is no one on the other end.  How can this harrasement be stopped!  I do not answer but am sick of the calls! What is this about?  I donate to the cancer fund in my area not to an unknown destination. This problem must be addressed.  Shouldn't ACIR be concerned?

AICR calls on off-hours and week-ends.  I don't answer, but please make them stop the incessant calling.

has been calling 1-3 times/day, almost every day. sometimes leaves long answer: "you have reached ...please hang up and dial again..." several times. Very annoying. Have to listen to this annoying message so I can delete it from my voicemail.

AICR have ALA to be connected....Why do they call and not say anything.    What do they want? ....I know their plan has to be to extract money in some way but why this way?...I've reported both callers to the FTC, but they do nothing?  Is this a conspiracy of some sort.  It hurts badly and the Federal Government should do something to help victims like us - This is also very frightening!! - blocking calls??...No they apparently have zillions others they us...continue to harass.

Noone here posting on this website is caling you.  But you've just about guaranteed yourself more annoying calls by posting your phone number on a public forum for all to see!!

keep calling me., this time caller id said anonamous. get calls every day. just don't answer them.

At least once a day now for the last week we have had a call from this number.  On Sat. morning the 12th we had a call at 8:30AM!  I spoke to a woman who I asked to remove our name and number from the list.  Sunday, Monday and today, Tues. we still are receiving phone calls.  They are a nusance caller.  We are on the do not call list. No respect and should not be funded.

AICR keeps changing their NXX in phone number so number blocking is only partially effective. You need to block the entire 202 area code to stop these calls. Regrettably, 202 is the area code for your Senator and Congressperson and other D.C. entities. This is a real sleaze ball organizations.

Charity Watch rates the American Institute for Cancer Research an "F", "for spending paltry amounts on their programs and maintaining high fundraising costs". That says it all.

The call volume from numbers with Caller ID:  Washington DC have increased significantly for me.  This is just one of them.

Calling every day, even on Sunday's

This AICR has been calling repeatedly but no one is on the line. I'm tired if it!

I am so sick and tired of my phone ringing every single day and Washington, DC is on the caller ID.  I don't even bother to pick it up but still want these calls to stop.  Isn't there some legal loophole that can be used to eliminate these people from pestering people?

Got a call from this phone number. It woke my dog up. He hates the ring.
Wish there was one central organization that one could donate like our federal government who can then re-distribute the money amongst the research organizations.

AICR-American Institute for Cancer Research-  in D.C..   They use several numbers for soliciting for
donations.  On other sites people complain  about robo calls from them, but the BBB has logged only
1 complaint in 36 months.

Getting calls from them once or two times daily.  We don't answer the phone when we see it is from AIRC.  When will they give up?  This has been going on for several weeks.  I have previously sent out letters requesting donations, but don't get much response.  So I will not do it again....  I am a survivor...and donate to  the organizations that support research in the type of cancer I had.  How long before they get the message that we won't answer the phone.  They don't even have the courtesy of leaving a message.

We don't answer any number we don't recognize. this just came up as Washington DC but based on comments here it is probably the ACIR. they have used other numbers which did come up as ACIR. Check out today's edition of USA today (28-Dec-12). They have an article on Charities.and the BBB. ACIR get an F, ) stars, etc by other charity watching groups. This so called charity is a scam. If you answer, just hand up.
