Hi, I just received a call that did not show up on my caller ID.  It just said call unknown.  Flags were waiving right then.  When I answered it a man, heavy hindu type acsent tells me I'd been picked to receive $9,000 in grant money to use any way I want.  All I had to do was call 202-697-9816 and tell whoever answered my four-digit I.D. number.  I did not call of course and googled 202 just tp see where were it was and stumbled upon this site.
What can he be gaining?  I didn't give him any information.  Just weird, the whole thing.

I just receive a call from unknown and they gave me 202-697-9816 to call but when i seen it said Colombia i hung up right away thought it was a scam now doung my own research found out it was glad i didnt give them no information

I kept receiving calls that were showing up on my called ID from Newseum with a phone number of 202-292-6660.  I finally answered and played along as well.  I was told by someone who did not speak very good English that he was (insert name here, not sure what it was) and he was from the United States Federal Government Grant Money division and that my family had been chooses as one of 1700 people to receive grant money from the government that could be spent on anything my family needs, etc...  And all I had to do was call his Senior Account Manager at 202-697-9816 and the funds would be released to me within 24 hours.  I too agree that the person on the line had my name and address.  The whole call was odd as people do not generally call to just give you $7000; but the things that stuck out the most was when he said I might have to call his Sr. Acct Manager over and over as his call volume was VERY high.  He told me to hand up and call right now; don't waste any time and that I could have my money by the weekend.  (Not sure how they would have done that since I told them I would want the plastic card for my money as opposed to giving them my bank account information for "direct deposit".  Anyway I did not call the second number.  I was afraid if I did I would be charged some ungodly amount each time I repeatedly dialed the phone number.

i have ben getting the same call n today i answered i played along feeling that it was one of my friends because they knew so much i asked for a website and when i tried to call back they dont answer

I also received a call but originally it was 615-688-1801 from an Angel, which sent me to a Jessica when I kept asking questions.  They gave me the number 202-738-4185 to call a Freddie Wilder.  I did not call the number so they called me back with a different person and said that Freddie had left due to an emergency and to call mike Parker at 202-697-9816.  I called the number and he asked me to call back in 10 minutes.  He did not answer after that.  I hope that this person is caught.  The information that they did have about me makes me wonder what else they have.  They claimed to be US federal Grants.

just got the same phone call today in MN. all the same similarities as you guys. i called mike and he said i had to deposit $350 into a western union account and then they would release the $7000. Did not do it, did not want to risk that amount of money.

Jus received a call saying the government wants to give me 7000 dollars and to call Mike Parker the account manager @ 202 6979816 & give him my money confirmation #

The company said that they were from the government doing grants that doesnt have to paid back. They give you a code and phone number to contact Mike Parker 202-697-9816 once you call him he hangs up the phone and will not answer again.

I just got a call that I was chosen 1 of 50 in the state of Arizona to receive $7000.00 Government grant. Also I could use it for ANYTHING an NEVER have to pay it back. All I had to do was call another number
(202) 738-1189 and speak to the Senior Accountant. I didn't call the number. Has anyone called the second number?  Thanks

This person is a scammer, I have been told that he was mike taco, from a government and i was been approved for a $7,000. But when i call him back he hangs up his phone and the second time he said to call back in 30 minutes, when i called him again after an hour he never answered.
