I also got 1 call from another man who said that he had been sending messages for weeks to tell me that my computer had been hacked.I As I told him that what he saying wrong and an out and out lie, he threatened me.  He said he get into my system and mess my life up!  I told him he was full of BS since I was sitting at my computer and everything is fine.  They wanted so they could go into my computer and fix it.  I was furious and also told him NOT to call back.  So far he hasn't.  I knew he was a scam just trying to get my personal info , I hope I scared him off.

I have gotten 5 calls from someone that says they are giving away free government grant money.  I told them I was not interested and to remove me from the list.  They  did remove my name and number and continued to call.  Today 6/9/2014, they called several times and I said the same thing AND I explained the law about continuing to call people you've requested that they don"t.  After yelling at me and calling me names, I just hung up on him.  I tried to get a company name every time but couldn't.

I received a call from a lady stating I was owed money (7,500) from the government when I said I'm sorry mam I really don't understand why your calling me if you owed me this money why didn't u just send it to me then she hung up on me... The number is 202-735-8989 people this is a scam.....

This number dialed a business line repeatedly, yet never answers when you get on the phone, and never answers when you call back. No idea who this is, but they're annoying at best.

Called twice in a row.  Left message, but no one was there.

With in 1 min this number called me 5 times. Never said anything but as soon I hung up it was calling back.

Want to stop repeated telescam phone calls?
Try these alternatives:

1.  Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail.  Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.

2.  If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.

3.  If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group".  Assign the scammer's phone number to that group.  Also assign a "silent ring" to that group.  You will not hear future calls from that number.

4.  Google NoMoRobo, and visit their site, to see if your phone system is compatible with that system.  (It may or may not be compatible).

5.  Contact your phone service provider.  They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.

6.  If you buy things online, you might want to google "Amazon phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon has to offer for landlines or smartphones. Similar devices are for sale on eBay and other online stores.

Got the call a few minutes ago. As soon as I heard the person on the phone (with HEAVY) call center noise in the background I started doing a search for the number. I came to a page that had the link for this page so I started reading as he was reading his script to me.  I asked where he was calling from and he stated "Washingtown DC", yes, Washingtown... the area code DOES originate in the DC area, so he was close on that part.

Like some others on here, he was talking about I had been pre-selected for a $7,000 grant. (and blah blah blah) This guy had a heavy fake accent and many of the words were unintelligible. I played along for a minute and he asked me to grab a pen and paper to write down information so I could call another number and claim the money. Anybody that has had any connection with the US Government knows our phoenetic alphabet (there are a couple different types police/military).. This guy.. S as in sugar, R as in rubber....

All in all... string the caller along if you like and post information on here, but don't trust a thing. As someone else said...the government isn't just going to call and say "Hey, guess what, you can claim some money!!"

First call today was someone giggling and speaking chinese. They called back again this afternoon and hung up immediately.

Keeps calling day after day to ask for Stephanie. Heavy hispanic accent. Told him several times that this person does not have this phone number any longer. Asked for manager and to be removed from list, but keeps calling once a day.

I got the same call today. I told him I wouldn't give any account info and to take my name off the list and hung up. He called back and left a nasty message with a bunch of expletives!

A woman called, who was very hard to understand, both b/c of her heavy accent and the call center noise. She asked my name and said that I have been selected for a $7000 grant from the government. I asked how she received my info, to which her reply I could not understand.
I tried to get some info out of her, she asked to verify my address, which she had the city right, but nothing else. She then asked that I give her my correct address, I told her no, and again repeated my previous request that I be removed from their call list and that I am on the national do not call list.
This is a scam. Do not trust this number.

They called me twice this week and when I answer I say hello there no reply I say hello again no reply they hang up so I call back no answer and some message saying they not accepting calls at this time they better stop calling or I'm going to answer " it's done... Blood is everywhere and hang up"

Said you receive grant for $10200 pay with a green dot card of 185 cash in account in twenty minutes from federal reserve bank of New York would transfer money after fee I said if free why pay I hung up called back said scam I won't send money they are still calling won't stop

The caller, a female, asked for me in heavily accented English and said they were from the "claims department." When I said, "Who is this?" they hung up. I called the number back and received a voice mail in another language. This was just a few mins. ago, they called last night but I didn't answer.

Called, asked for me by name and then said "F*ck you." And hung up.

they just called here, asked for me and I asked who was calling and they hung up. So I reported them, all calls should be reported.

Got a call from this # saying I won a $7000 grant from the Federal Reserve bank. But can only receive it by either direct deposit or Western Union. Told them no thank you and don't call again. This is a scam, Federal Govt won't use this tactics to give you your $!

received call/answered/no one there then click and dead call...caller ID said DC.
Son also received a call from a different DC num stating he owed back taxes...

They call me too it was a woman that she works for the govrm, and I was saying that I won some kind of grand like $700, and then hang up. Don't trust anybody saying that you win something out of nothing, nothing if for free, so don't let them fool you like that, they just want your information to Robe your identity
