still scamming people. called me gave me my approval number but now you are asked to call Mr, Billy Weaver.

I knew right away this was total BS but I played along telling them I had no money checking account or pre paid card, I even talked Ms. Brown down to $125 from her original request of $220. I called her back in a few minutes and made her think I was a cop I told her I would make believe arrest her if I didn't get my make believe money.

The same bogus caller tried it on me, gave acct info to which was not a good idea, will check my acct tomorrow . Be ware folks.

said to wire 230.00 western union and they would give me a grant in my account of 8000.00 another scam

I got a phone call from a man who gave me the # to Kelly Brown.. this is a scam...! Anytime I asked questions she got upset... I hope these people get caught...

About 2 hours ago I received a phone call from a guy telling me I had received a 7000 dollar grant, and grants you do not have to pay back. He told me all of this on the phone, and that I was supposed to call this lady named Kelly Brown. He gave me a Washington number and told me to call as soon as I hung up. I was in the car at the time, so I told him  I did not have my bank info. I only had my card, a debit card, so he took that. when I got home, I went to the bank and told them. They immediately canceled my debit card, and ordered me a new one, and told me everything would be alright. If you have a debit card, give him the info, and then go and cancel it, that gets the fraud people closer to catching them every time, and you don't lose any money.

They did the same damn thing to me, I'm a poor college student who has a daughter and a wife that depend on my hard earnings! No way in hell am I gonna trust some Indian people with my money! I hope they get what's coming to them! I kept saying scam to "Kelly Brown" and she just got so upset! Lol

Yeah, definitely a scam. I got the guy from India who said the grant thing 7k dollars, and i told him to give me a callback number and i googled it to find this thread. Don't fall for it, but if you are looking it up online you already know that or it's already too late :/

Isn't there something we can do to get them blocked on the carriers?

They just called me and told me i was to receive a $7000 gov't grant... most likely a scam

I just got a call from this # a dude that sounds like he's from India, he said I can recieved a Federal grant for 7000, after trying to get my info he transfer me to Kelly brown at 202-738-1919 this mf tells me to go to western union call her back so i can send my $350 dollar processing fee so I'm like why don't y'all just send me 6650 then we even......lol

You should be especially suspicious if someone you don't know calls you and asks you to send money via Western union, Moneygram, or Green Dot Moneypack card!  Whether they claim you won a prize or a grant or you owe on a payday loan you know you didn't take out, it's almost always a scam!

I as well, have gotten a fone call.First, a man that wanted my bank acct and told me to call Kelly brown.  Gave her an activation numbr, and she told ne to send $350.00
...once I got to the  western union store, I called her back and she never answered.  Something is DEFINITELY. Fishy bout this. I ACTUALLY BELIEVED IT. I even needed the money for the holidays and it put me down a lot. I knew it was too good t be true

I got a call from someone before I called Kelly Brown. I'm SURE that this is a scam now. This man calls from Washington DC and says that I was chosen from the government to give me $7000 in my bank account. I gave him my account information. I don't know why I did! Now I am going to go to a site and have it all canceled. It's very very deceiving! I've never got a prank call before and i was so happy to be waked up with my mom giving me the guy on the phone. I received a call as well from this Kelly Brown. She claimed I had been selected to receive a federal grant for $7000 & all I had to pay was $350. I stated I'm not sending any money for anything and she hung up the phone as well. Do not fall for this prank call!

This number is a lady by the name of Kelly Brown she is calling claiming that i have been selected to receive a federal grant of 7000 all i had to do was send her 350. after asking quite a few questions and makeing her repeat herself a ton of times because i couldnt understand her she got rude and disconnected the call.
